When I see something using well-known sci-fi names like 'Bajoran' it makes me think it was the product of an AI, and that no human editor even bothered to look it over.

Good story, sighed and facepalmed at the Star Trek name references though. Only inconsistency was at the end which involved the child's doll. The commander had given it back to the little girl and told her to go hide, then he had it back in his hand at the end ("Whoops").

The only thing that gives away that an ai is writing this is when it uses the same words to describe something . The words it uses are totally correct but it cannot understand that even though those words are the best choice to describe something, we english language speakers find it off putting to use the same metaphor or turn of phrase multiple times in the same body of text. The Ai cannot understand such subtleties of writing.
At least until the AI gets enough data sets (containing those human-written subtleties) fed into it. Today's AI doesn't understand or philosophize about anything. It just mimics and reformulates what us humans create.
It's a good story. The only mistake the author made was at the end. When Greg looks at the doll in his hand. The mistake was that he had already handed it back to the little girl who went away. But again. Great story. :)

With the Phalanx system and other systems, intercepting even missiles and shells is becoming more a reality. Eventually, missiles and shells will have stealth tech and armor, maybe shielding. Tank armor won't be enough. It will be better to have fast, light vehicles. Probably power armor.
Even if this was 1,000 years in the future, you know how humans like their nostalgia. They could have named a new all terrain vehicle a Humvee just because it was a vehicle of war in the past.

Which could have been filled with different content as opposed to filler. As with your other stories very engaging which allowed me to make up for myself a back story to fit this narrative. Enjoyed it, very engaging. Liked the ending which allowed room for other stories.

And in a story where you got a warlike, ruthless species like these Bajorans, they could see defeating their invasion force as a humiliation, and want take revenge for said humiliation. You see, it's about establishing the barbaric point of view of the attacker. And make them more dangerous, but yet, predictable.
So I guess the far more advanced species in this story has never heard of mixed unit tactics? Never even considered developing a method to jam an enemies radar/targeting systems? Hell, never even heard of radar in general??? Never considered developing heavy armor for things like troop transports? Or tanks?!

This sounds like our futures history. My father worked for the experimental design department for one of our arrow space companies. He did DARPA stuff before there was a DARPA. He was very stoic about his work. At times we would be watching a documentary on future stuff like pulse weapons and pulse engine technology. I would hear him scoff As a young child I would ask "what Dad" All he would say is " we've had that technology for....hell twenty years now" and then stone face stoic again. A man of few words. I truly believe we know and posses far more technology than we will know in well, my life time. I am sure if the need arrives we will be amazed with the stuff that has been hidden from the general public. It is a shame but, true.

You view the war in military terms, but war is an extension of politics. The 60,000 U.S. soldiers that were lost in Vietnam was the political defeat that U.S. couldn't accept. They lost because there was no will in U.S. citizens to fight that war, and yes, it's a loss, Communists of Vietnam won in the end defeating the South Vietnamese Democratic army. Same thing happened in Afghanistan, they never lost their will to fight, all while U.S. couldn't continue this senseless money sink.

Hi, Saagar I have seen a UFO flying around the top of the full moon & also have been visited by the Tall people while cleaning up the the beach where I live & also had & a visit by the reptilian as well who was standing by & an old car when I approached him he through a coffee cup on the ground so I picked up the cup & then moved to the shelter shed to clean up around the area then I saw a male sitting on the bench with his finger moving around the phone on my movement while I continued to pick up the rubbish. as 2 reptilians were sitting on the bench seat to moving their fingers on their phones too & the next day while turning on my TV there was a figure of 4 greys looking at me from my TV .so people wake up & let these aliens to show them a peace full greetings to the world we live in.

who was standing by & an old car when I approached him he through a coffee cup on the ground so I picked up the cup & then moved to the shelter shed to clean up around the area then I saw a male sitting on the bench with his finger moving around the phone on my movement while I continued to pick up the rubbish. as 2 reptilians were sitting on the bench seat to moving their fingers on their phones too & the next day while turning on my TV there was a figure of 4 greys looking at me from my TV .so people wake up & let these aliens to show them a peace full greetings to the world we live in.

Humans didn't have ftl, but are on this planet. Soo, they lived there too? Or they spent generations just to get 1% of the way there to aid them? I don't get this, the Bajoran Capital city is only miles away from the battlefield, so they also lived on that planet with the L aliens? So much is confusing and I barely started. These vids are great as a, "what not to do" if you do a little story writing.
We heard some talk of the Bajoran council back at the city. What happened to them? Are they still there? Not a bad story. But inconsistent.
