- A singer-songwriter from near Cattletsburg, Kentucky, he now works full-time as a musician. His musical passion started as a young teen, when his dad bought him his first guitar in 8th grade. It was really his stepdad, Scott Sword, who encouraged his learning, and Cole credits him with being the real reason he started playing.

Amazing artist.. mighty fine pickin and singing. The Flood and coal shooter are on repeat in my truck . Don't let Nashville change you ..
Probably one of the finest songs ever written. Listen to the words. Makes me in love with life all over again. ♥️
Thanks for the music cole you helped me get back on track. I was Lost before
Nothing like real country music to remind us that our heritage is not tied to race or gender but a state of mind.
This guy is a lyricist that is growing with each word in each song
Keep it coming’ eastern Kentucky! You’re gonna do good things Cole! Make it down to Billy Bob’s. Won’t be disappointed. You and Tyler Childers both! America needs to hear the stories you tell. Lived in big cities and small cities…I think a lot of people have never known or understood the beauty of country living. Hardships come and go but they build character and knowledge (whether learned the hard way or leaning on a neighbor or family member). In the end, doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you’ve lived it and learned it. Keep it coming Cole, very glad and proud to hear more great music coming out of eastern Kentucky.
We NEED more Cole Chaney!
Indeed
Man I miss talking to my Papaw. Great song Cole. Puts me right there like I'm living it again.
Great all around musician/songwriter his guitar playing is very beautiful
Cole Chaney is way underrated, but that’s real country music for you.
Beautiful song. Can tell these lyrics mean a lot to him by the way he sings. This is a great artist right here!!
This man is an amazing artist. You can feel that hard Kentucky heritage in every song.

You guys are so lucky over there the wealth of talent on your doorstep and in your case in the family nothing like that over here live music is hard to come by hopefully someday I'll get to see Cole live musicians like him are truly a rare find these days
@@Deanotation He’s my cousin on my dads side of the family. Everyone (including myself) has always been musically inclined in some ways since we were little. Just seen my cousin (Cole’s mom and seen his dad too) last night at our family wildflower festival. Cole was singing last night somewhere but we all sent our love doing what we know best and that’s just to keep playin music and such. Yes you should come over here and see him live one day!! Our other cousin is (Cole’s other cousin as well!) also working on her new album too! And me as well! So definitely would welcome ya here ☺️
Good to see u supporting your own music usually runs in the blood same in my family I'll be keeping an eye out for u let me know if u put out anything and all the best with it, it's not easy writing your own material I know 😁

Wow. What a song.
This guy is awesome.
Much respect!!
I showed this to a co worker who was doing some dumb tik tok song thing.
I told her that's not country and has no emotion.
I played this within 5 seconds she had chills and was hooked!!
Told her this is real country and real emotion. She has a whole new outlook. Lololol
New fan...nice!

Wish ol' Phil gave us an early spring this year.
Brother I would jam your songs all day
I seriously think you sound better and more soulful, live, rather than the ep or cd. You are awesome homie, keep it up!
Love this song! Heard it this weekend at Red River Gorge. Loving it! Wish he was on Spotify.

Saying less makes your words mean more
Sisyphus cheated death twice ... Think more than a few of us that found our way here can relate.
A bad day fishing beats the hell out of working
What does he say after I went back I. The holler today. Beginning of third verse
I went back in the holler today*
Someone please answer this!
“Yeah old Phil gave us an early spring” he’s referring to Phil the groundhog
I’m not sure why, but I think that is one of the best, most creative lines I’ve ever heard in any song, any genre, ever.
@@reesegriffith2555 For real
Call your pap paw
@Sturgill Simpson ... when you puttin’ this boy on?!
Eastern KY prime crop! That the women, shine, and smoke!
Scotch Irish sound is strong in this one
I keep waiting for Phil Lynott to pop up and start belting out some moonlight 👌🏼
Cole is my cousin on my dads side of the family!! My great grandmother (Cole’s great great grandmother) came directly over here from Ireland! We have that Irish gypsi blood in us real thick!
@@Bigrlboi1 when I played this for my grandfather he said the exact same thing I did about where his sound came from! we have the same heritage and love the scotch Irish sound along with good outlaw country!
@@joeboggus9632 Aww I’m so glad you and him like his music!! Nice!! Just about everyone on my dads side of the family play and sing (including myself!) and we all live up here in the hollers!
Why is all the good music coming out of Appalachia?
