- A singer-songwriter from near Cattletsburg, Kentucky, he now works full-time as a musician. His musical passion started as a young teen, when his dad bought him his first guitar in 8th grade. It was really his stepdad, Scott Sword, who encouraged his learning, and Cole credits him with being the real reason he started playing.

Always have. Kentucky's been a hotbed of music for the past 100 years.
There’s plenty of stuff in the water, but most of it is what the coal companies dumped on us
I swear it’s all environmental. When I think of Kentucky, I think of this desperation of the opioid epidemic. Same as WV. It’s so cool to see these artists use their own homes as inspiration for their songs. It makes it seems so much more personal for them, which is why I think it’s so good.
Can you imagine birthing a child and a guitar. Pray for Kentucky moms.
Kyle Hill actually when the babies come out they’re immediately enrolled in a class learning how to make their own Martin guitars
So damn proud to call this man one of my best friends, grew up listening to him play these songs and still to this day I get chills
Would love to see him live. Does he plan on touring? Jacksonville, FL would love to have him.

@cw4255 it's a resurgence of good music coming out of Kentucky. But people don't seem to remember the hundreds that have came from KY in the past. Kentucky is beautiful but so damn sad. I was born and raised in Boyd County, same as Mr. Chaney here. I make a living breaking my back, I'm glad some of us can make a living with their voice. I was lucky to watch perform on June 18th at Rowdys in Jackson oh. Rowdys in my first time listening to him live and it was amazing. I hate to say this but I bet here real soon we won't see him in local venues. It's one of those bitter sweet moments.
