I know it's an older video, but as I configure a 2025 the information is still mostly relevant. I am an LT guy all the way, just check almost all the option boxes. That is because I REALLY dislike leather seats and LTZ doesn't offer a leather delete option. But then optioned all the way up, the LT is about $6k cheaper than my preferred config of the LTZ. Some of that can go to adding better speakers instead of the missing Bose. It is also easier to delete all of the chrome on the LT - I also don't like chrome (my current truck is a Titan Midnight Ed.) Can live without the rain sense wipers - they are neat, but my current ones don't work in winter (sleet or slushy snow) so it's a 6-month a year option. Can also buy aftermarket LED taillights for under $1k if I really want them.
I like your review! Lots of details! Two things Chevrolet needs to add. 1.) Front massaging seats. Older F150's have them. 2.) Rear seat USB outlets in the arm rest. Worth mentioning is that the 3500 gets an electric steering rack. This makes the truck drive and turn like a sedan. 4G is the standard Wi-Fi speed. If you want 5G then you need to order Super Cruise in the High Country.
The LTZ wins me over with its features I’d rather have the LT because of the front end.. but if I can get the LTZ with the LT front end, that’ll be just the grandest thing ever🔥💯👀
Very informative video. You had mentioned that you can't get front & rear park assist on the LT. That is partially correct, you can get rear park assist on the LT as part of the safety or all star packages. At least that is what I have found out when specing out our next 3500 srw.
just wanted to add i have a 24 model 2500 crew cab long box lt model, and i have almost every single option that this ltz does except mine is the 6.6 gas got it right off the lot
ya know for 80K + I want a lifetime warranty on the frame from rusting out. I dont drive much so my 2003 silverado only has 74k miles BUT the bottom is rusted to hell.
The LTZ headlights are sealed. If a bulb or daytime LED strip goes out you have to replace the entire headlight which runs $2k for a dealer install. The LT bulbs are easily replaced with LED bulbs. The LED bulbs today have advanced processors and sensors so no more blinding other drivers. They work and look great.
@@CarsMadeSimple I actually sat in another car and had somebody drive my truck towards me at night just so I could see if it was blinding. It did not blind me at all and I have a 4 inch lift on my truck. I have read that the sensors today are so advanced that they can now mimic a halogen light beam pattern.
I'm stuck. Not sure if I should option up an LT or just get the LTZ. You can get leather bucket seats on the LT trim with the leather package for $985 and the buckets for $620.
I think it depends if there is anything you really want that is only available on the LTZ. If not, it could be better to get a well equipped LT but sometime it is better to get a lesser LTZ.
I did figure out that you can buy the new headlights in front end in the LT version but it’ll have to be the Z 71 sport package, or the midnight edition
I was told that since I am going with the 3500 HD LT dual rear tires for GooseNeck Towing, I have to go with the long bed (not the standard bed) with the 17" tires.
@@dcphifer4307 Yes, I think the dual rear trucks all have the long bed. SRW long beds seem to be rare. I special ordered mine, GMC CC LB SRW 3500HD gas SLT, got it the way I wanted.
Excellent comparison between the two trucks. If I was purchasing one, it would be the 2500HD LTZ. Wish the wood type door panels in the 3500HD were on the 2500HD instead of that strange looking trim piece. I also like leather seats.
I want to start out with saying thank you for your video it was a great comparison but at minute 1303 you said the back seat storage does not come with cloth seats but it does. I've watched plenty of videos of these trucks and it shows cloth seating with it.
Yes, you are correct. I likely mean't to say the leather automatically gets you the storage and the cloth is optional with other packages. For the LT, Convenience Package II will get you the cloth with storage.
It is a bummer but it makes sense that the base models keep a more simplistic interior for cost and usability. I could see that changing in a few years as the next generation comes around.
It would be nice if GM offered the option of not having that centre console. This way you could sit three in the front and three in the back on the LTZI don’t understand why they do this. It is a dumb feature paying more for less room
Great detailed comparison! I have a question: How come the LTZ doesn't have the upfitter switches but the LT does? Is it an option? I try to get an LT, but I don't see the upfitter switches on Chevy's build your own interior images or as options...
When I was ordering my 24 I optioned both and the gmc actually had less options when comparing the lt to the sle. Example I can’t get leather or bucket seats in the gmc, but you can with Chevy and leather bucket seat fully loaded lt is still cheaper then the gmc
You need to do a little more research, the "Functional hood scoops" are plumbed to the engine air filter box. Part of the intake air still comes from the fender area. The grill inlet and radiator is for engine cooling.
@@RoadieWingZZthe LT is far more aggressive looking. The LTZ looks good too but more like something my wife would drive. In fact, she thinks the LTZ grille is “more pretty” than the LT.
Imagine still offering HALOGEN headlights in 2024. What a joke. Also still offering the old GRILL look on the lesser trim which everyone hated. They do this to get you to upgrade to the next model up. also dislike large amounts of chrome, it's tacky. GREAT side by side comparisons. Super handy. If you haven't done so, an ltz to a high country comparison would be nice. I'd probaly want an Ltz with z71 trim package and a gasser. LASTLY Nissan still does the rear flat floor storage better. Gm should copy that.
It’s not the same grill as last years it still got facelifted with a different grill. If you don’t like chrome get a custom or wt model. There is also a midnight option option on lts

Great job breaking down pricing and comparing two with similar options

Glad I bought a 2023 3500HD LT. I like my dash layout better, Plus, I hate leather seats. I do have Convenience 1 and 2 packages.
Chevy seats are garbage either way
Great comparison of the two trim levels, appreciate the info.

Rear seat storage is available in cloth seating with the right option choices. It’s not limited to leather as stated in the video.

In the year 2024 all trucks should come with LED headlights. This is for safety in the early morning or late night tow.
I agree

Is it possible to replace the LT standard light to the new LTZ ones?
I would recommend getting them from the factory. You can do so on the LT as long as it's one of the appearance packages.

Yes, up fitter switches are typically an option separate from the packages.
Upfitter switches are a $150.00 option on the LTZ.
Look at the GMC. You may be able to get the options you want without having to go to a higher trim level and higher cost.
GMC's are typically more expensive than Chevy so it may be a very minor cost difference.

Scoops are functional on the diesel, but not the gas version. Purely aesthetic on that one.
