2022/23 Chevy Silverado LT vs LTZ | Side by Side Trim Comparison!

  • Опубліковано 29 вер 2022
  • In this video I show you around a 2022 Chevy Silverado LT and a 2022 Chevy Silverado LTZ. As you can see from the video, both of these trucks are 4x4 and have some optional features. The LT is fairly loaded for the LT trim but missing a few packages as is the LTZ. If you are looking for a Silverado, the wide variety of variations should make it so there is a truck that fits your needs available however the large range of options can also make it difficult to compare exactly across trims.
    Differences between LT and LTZ:
    - HD Surround Vision Camera System (Optional on LT)*
    - 18” Wheels (Optional on LT)*
    - Front/Rear Park Assist
    - Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert (Optional on LT)*
    - Rear Cross Traffic Braking (Optional on LT)*
    - Rear Pedestrian Alert
    - Safety Alert Seat
    - Trailer Brake Controller Standard (Optional on LT)*
    - Front Bucket Seats (Optional on LT)*
    - Leather Seats Standard (Optional on LT)*
    - Driver Seat/Mirror Memory
    - Power Folding Mirrors
    - LED Fog Lights
    - LED Tail Lights
    - Rear Wheelhouse Liners (Available on LT)*
    - Power Sliding Rear Window (Optional on LT)*

    I bought the LTZ this past November. I had a F150 Lariat on order but after driving the LTZ I was sold. Even ate the $1000 deposit on the F150 -- no regrets. This Silverado is beyond my expectations. A great drive, very solid and a better value than the F150 IMO.

    KInda late, but the LTZ in this video didn't have a lot of the options that the LTZ can have over the LT. Technology Package is a big one to me. The LTZ not having the full Z71 package (offroad plus spray in bedliner, etc.) is a head scratcher as well. The 6.2L engine option is also a difference maker as it is not available for the LT. Whoever at the dealer that spec'd that truck, I don't understand why. They add the very expensive premium package, which I like, but no tech package, no Z71/Protection. The 6.2 is nice, but the 5.3 is honestly good enough.
    Between these two particular trucks, a well optioned LT vs an almost bare boned LTZ, I'd wait for a sale and get the LT.
    My 2 only complaints for these trucks are that it is almost impossible to find a standard bed over the short bed and the autostop feature. At least you can turn it off while driving. I get GM is under pressure from agencies like the EPA and all of that, but that feature is ANNOYING.
    The leather option really looks nice in the LT.
    Good review and explanation of what you had to work with. Despite the lack of LTZ options, you could show off a lot of the bells and whistles it had as standard.

    Just bought a Black LT exactly pictured like the one you have in this Vid. Duramax powertrain, lm2, and the dealer had the 20” wheels for an added $1,000 I think.

    I test drove both of these trim levels today. I’m trying to decide which one to purchase. The LTZ didn’t have a power sliding rear window. The LT had it on an option package.
    So it’s most likely not standard on a LTZ trim.

    I agree with your gripe on the taillights, I have a 2020 Silverado and cannot believe taillights are not LED. The custom has them which is a model below the LT so why skip the LT. Another gripe is no fog lights on the LT.

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Рік тому

      For the refresh GM removed the LED tail lights from the Custom too so now they start on the RST, LT Trail Boss and above. I always found it odd that the Custom had them from 2019-2022 where the LT didn't even have the option.

    Leather is the same in LT and LTZ. High Country trim level has better quality leather on the seats. I found the High Country trim to be the best value for what you get standard.

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Рік тому +1

      Interesting. That would make sense about the leather. For me, it is hard to come to a conclusion on best value due to the number of trims that Chevy offers. Some are likely better than others but one thing I would consider a must is the new technology on the inside which is only available in LT and up.

    Can anyone who actually paid over 50 grand for a new truck recently explain to me why you agreed to pay so much for one? I only ask because it's people like you who are paying these prices that enable the manufacturers and dealers to ask so much.

      @devil4681 8 місяців тому

      Because we need them for work most of the time

    • @number1pappy
      @number1pappy 8 місяців тому

      @devil4681 Yeah, I can understand business's buying them. Especially if your business makes enough income to be able to write off the cost in taxes. However, it's not the business's buying them that primarily supports the majority of the sales. It's the regular consumers. Even more surprising to me after researching it is that the majority of sales for these 60 grand + trucks are people making less than 80 grand a year combined family income. It's baffling how these people afford $1000 + a month loan payments. All one has to do is look at any parking lot for a grocery store, etc, and see all the pickups that are a couple of years old that have pristine truck beds. They are just not being used by people who "need" them. They are being purchased by middle income people who just want them. To be clear, that's totally fine to want a truck. I get it! I have two myself. However, if you're struggling financially just to make the payments, it doesn't make sense to buy one just to be "cool." Again, these are the people who are enabling the dealerships to mark up the trucks so high. You'll notice that currently the prices are starting to come down, albeit really slowly. This is because people are finally coming to their senses. Well, at least the banks are by being more strict with income requirements and
      rejecting more loan applications . The same thing happened to the housing market years ago. Banks were giving mortgages to people who couldn't afford them, and the housing market crashed because of it.

      I believe there is a Silverado and/or Sierra that would fit your needs with most of this equipment around the $60-65k range depending on the engine. I would start building one around the LT or RST trim in the Silverado or the SLE/Elevation/SLT in the Sierra lineup. If there is a list of must have features, I can direct you a little better.

    I have a 21 LT and its no where near the value of money these dealership are asking for. The 5.3L & 6.2L should be standard to come with dual Exhaust system across every trim models that has these 2 engines in them and the zr1 package should be standard on every truck that is 4x4 all infotainment systems in these over price trucks should come with Auxiliary plugs some were on the bottom dash were people can hook up their aftermarket amps for add on subwoofer instead of going threw all that hell to take the dash apart or taking the doors apart to tap in the speaker wires. Its too many dam trim levels for the same dam truck plus far too many confusing package options when most of that bull crap should be standard across all trim models the high County shouldn't exceed over 50 thousand dollars and every trim model pricing should come under. Trucks and suv,s are well over priced we the consumers can control that by not buying them just let them sit on the lot they'll drop the dam prices for sure then.
