In Hungary, Ferenc Puskás is more than just a footballer. He is, in many ways, a symbol of the country’s identity and a cultural icon, considered to be the greatest Hungarian footballer ever to take the field.

He was also manager of Panathinaikos from 1970 to 1974 and guided us to the European Champions Cup Final in 1971. Good job guys.
😎😎👌👌
That 1954 World Cup logo is a classic
I would love a video about Leverkusen's tragic year in 2002, in which they came 2nd in the league, the cup, the CL and some players came 2nd in the World Cup too
When this channel hits 1 million, newer subscribers would have a lot of good videos to catch up on.
Cheers, Geoff
i think i have watched all their videos, never a dull moment :) happily following them since umaxit. tifa is a must for any football fans on youtube :D
@Sipho Thenjwayo TF are you doing here? LOL
True.
Hungary and Holland are two countries that should've won a world cup. But the Germans are huge trolls 😂
Shark Team Germany beat Hungary in 1954, Holland in 1974 and Argentina in 2014.
Puskás, Cruyff and Messi all denied World Cup glory by the Germans..
Tbf At least they were favourites in the last one
Dont remind me... 😫
For what it's worth, while the WC winners are usually the ones that are best remembered the Magical Magyars and Netherlands' Total Football are exceptions and are better remembered than the opposing team that bested them. Mostly due to them being credited for revolutionising the football game.
Football is a simple game. 22 men run on the field kicking the ball for 90 minutes and in the end, Germany wins.
He was also the manager of Panathinaikos when they reached the European Cup Final in 1971. The greatest accomplishment in any greek club history.
CR7naldo and Messi will probably go down in history alongside Puskas, Cruyff and Di Stefano as some of the greatest players who never won the World Cup as a player
Messi wooon
A brief history of is my favourite series in this channel.
Great video once. You know I'm tired of saying because all of your videos are great.
Road to 500k.
Yup without a doubt best series on the channel!
For a millennial who only started the game properly in 2004.. it's enlightening to finally see a story behind the man that is Ferenc Puskas.. my father and grandfather would always mention him but now I see who he is.. great content as always Tifo 👍🏻👍🏻
Di Stefano and Puskas up top? Jesus Christ.
A I
they could win 4 european cups easily
........and then eusabio defeated them single handedly..
@@delevingne8691 they won 5 European Cups in a row mate.
Yes
@@jt9360 Puskas won 'only' 3
Awesome. I was just researching the Magical Magyars yesterday. Keep up the good work.
As a hungarian it is very good to see a video like this but it also makes me sad because hungarian football couldn't really produce such players like him and his teammates from that legendary national team anymore. After the '50s we were still in the elite but reaching a world cup final again as a top team became an unattainable dream...
We had Flórián Albert who won the golden ball in 1967 but his name isn't really widespread as Puskas's.
As I read the comments I see that many other interesting topics are still there to make videos about. It is an awesome story too how Kocsis and Czibor (Puskas's teammates from the national team and Honvéd) made their kingdom at Barcelona together with Kubala. They reached the European Cup final in 1961 but they lost against Eusebio's Benfica. Interesting fact: that final was in the same stadium where they lost the world cup final against West Germany.
I come back from holiday and see this. A personal hero and legend of mine. Thank you Tifo, Puskas is forever an idol and a patriarch of the game.
Without a doubt a legend of the game
Can you guys do a vid on Jimmy Hogan. He is credited as the father of Central European Football. Gustav Sebes, the manager of the great Hungarian side of the 50s once said that they played football the way Jimmy Hogan taught them
Do Laszlo Kubala and his contribution to Barcelona and Spain ‘92 Olympics
This channel never disappoints
I'm Hungarian and I can say it's one of the best videos I've ever seen about Puskás.
1954 world cup was Hungary's but due to cheating by the referee in the final of 1954 world cup, the world cup went to the hands of Germany.
Great player. Great vid. Great Channel. I would like to see a vid on Uruguay's Jose Leandro Andrade next, if possible.
yeah, good suggestion, hitc7 always talked about him :) and maybe john charles too?
I really enjoy this channel. The site too very artistic visuals and writing. Good work! cheers.
Really informative vid, I always hear about this guy in pittance when it comes to discussing football.
Also please do a video on African greats like Milla, Okocha, Weah, Pele, etc🙏
Ikenna Enwelum pele is brazilian lmao
@@danivarga4868 He might be referring to Abedi Pele.
@@danivarga4868 It's Abedi Pele
@xCammy2207 Abedi Pele, he's Ghanaian
Yekini,Drogba
Thank you for bringing up him, true hero to us Hungarians!
No one CAN do it better than Tifo!
Great video again, can't wait for the next one...
Everyone should share Tifo’s videos across their social media. This way. The channel would become more known and we’ll get even more videos!
Great video mates well done again❤❤❤
Quality content from TIFO. Again
Waiting for not one but ten million subscribers...
You will have 10 million subscribers one day for sure
Watch Tifo = Learn something new. Bravo.
I liked this video very much because I have an incredible admiration for Ferenc Puskás, as he certainly deserves it, but, this video could have more information. Although you share some interesting informations, you could've perhaps talked about the goal he scored against England in that legendary 6-3 match, known as the match of the century opposing two of the best teams in the world, which was so good that the trophy for best boal is now known as the Puskás award as a hommage.
I hope you keep your hard work doing such great videos, I wish your channel a lot of success, thanks for all, and if you could...I would really love to see a more detailed video done by you, of course, about the Magical Magyars. Thank you!
Magical Magyars
oh hungary..how the mighty have fallen
And which team beat that Budapest Honvéd team? The Mighty Wolverhampton Wanderers!
Sadly, that era was the peak for both teams and neither have approached such dizzying heights since. Although I'm glad Wolves are back in the Premiership again.
If puskas had played throughout his entire career in madrid that man would ben the greatest forward of all time .. no cap. Banged goals like prime R9 at an age of 38 .. it’s unheard of. He just needed a stable footballing environment away from the whole war nonsense
Nice video as always, too bad you didn't talk about Gusztáv Sebes here !
Puskas, what a good day. Thank you.
As always, brilliant.
Puskas absolute Football player legendary
Another real madrid legend❤🙏
these are the videos I live for
RIP Puskas
Could you do a brief history of FC start ?? It’s one of the most incredible stories I’ve ever read and they deserve to be noticed
1950-56 Hungary just lost 1 match..... Unfortunately 😭💔
Now I understand that nickname on PES 2016.
Loved your work!!!!
Great vid as always
Hey guys, great video. Would really appreciate one on Baichung Bhutia. Thanks!
Can you do a video on Newcastle of the 90s when they had players with the likes of Alan Shearer, David Ginola, Les Ferdinand, Andy Cole, Rob Lee etc.
Do a video on Barca legend Ladiszlaw Kubala, scored more goals than Pele they say.
Ikenna Enwelum don’t you mean László Kubala? He was Hungarian too.
He didn't score more goals than pelé. Only Josef Bican did.
Please do one on Kubala
Legenda
Love
10th Comment🤣
TIFO should look into FloPez and Chelsea.
At RMA, they had Zidane as academy coach before he stepped into the first team. He has since left but Guti is still at Valdebebas. They hire Sevilla's former Scouting Director (or sth of the sort) and all of a sudden, there's a wealth of talent at RMA.
Same at Chelsea. IMO it's odd that they have so many ex players as academy coaches and how they handle youth players in particular is intriguing. It's too technical to the point I can't help but feel that there's sth going on there that we're not seeing.
I'll be that guy: It's pronounced more like 'Pushkash' (an HU 's' makes a 'sh' sound in EN). Your videos are great, but there's a fair bit of name botching. Might give a thought to spending a few minutes to learn the IPA and doing a quick check beforehand. Great videos, though. Thanks for them.
Hajra Magyarok!
Can you do Bela Guttmann please?
they did a viedo on him already
Will you please do more on liverpool because im tired of asking. I love your channel btw ,you're so underrated.
They've already done quite a lot on Liverpool - they have videos on Gegenpressing, Naby Keita and Mo Salah.
Could you do a video about the '86 Steaua Bucharest team who won the European Cup against Barcelona or The Golden Romanian Generation that played at the '94 World Cup?
Yo this vid just made me realise that me and puskas have the same last name
A brief history of Hungarian football. Eventually, it has declined because of the 1956 revolution. Its good to see as a Hungarian :)
Could you please make a video talking about all every different football era?!??
Nice summary. But...
"Puskas". Please respect the man. He has a name. From his culture.
I remember my dad talking about that electrifying that Magyar team of the 50's. Listening on the radio in Budapest during university days. How media has changed.
Can't help pointing out one vital detail. As an English-speaking son of Hungarian refugees (1956, as was Puskas) it rankles hearing his name being mangled. My own name too. Not a criticism. I'm sure I've equally mangle many names from many other cultures, but... For a globally up-front legend of the game, maybe a bit of cultural respect?
In Hungarian...
S = sh. as in SHoot, SHot, SH*t, caSH
C = tss. not really an English equivalent, but like the "ts" sound in caTS. In fact, "cica" (TSee-TSaa) was the unimaginative Hungarian name we used for one of our belated cats.
So...
Ferenc Puskas is (more closely) pronounced "feren-tss poosh-kaaash"
P.S. Native Hungarian speakers please correct me.
P.P.S. I think he's one exceptional player from a different era who could be successful in the modern day. Haaland vs Puskas - have it out!
Do a video on Gerd Muller
Do a comparison between Pele and Maradona. Records, stats, honours etc.
He also has a stadium named after him IIRC
Puskas is award bruh
Next Gheorghe Hagi and Romanian Football corruption ?
Dragos Udrea Yes
Only Romanian? Uefa and Fifa are corrupted
But Romania is special becasune until i think 2010 all clubs agree on their place in first league ...
He wasn't born into a ''german family''. His original last name is Swabian, and his family/ansectors were Swabian and Hungarian. His spoken languge was Hungarian, culture etc etc. Swabs have lived and intermingled with Hungarians and other groups in Hungary for 500+ years. Nothing much, but to say into a ''german family'' is pretty misleading.
Jól beszélsz honfitárs!
how good is ronaldo to have more goals for madrid than he has games
Puskas, Di Stefano and Real Madrid's 5 peat
probably the smartest player to ever play the game
😎😎😎👌👌👌👌
😎👌
Di Stefano next pls
Middlesbrough UEFA cup run in 2005/2006 season
Do stefano next
Nobody calling him galloping major. The press made it up and use it in the internation magazines. His nickname was: Öcsi (Buddy/Younger brother) Sváb (german ethics group). Also u inaccurate about the football tactical it wasn't Puskás ideas. It was the manager. They did called total football.
0:17 born to German patents. That explains a lot.
He wasn't born to a german family, his father was danube-swabian and his mother was hungarian. Also swabian is one of many minority groups in Hungary. So he's not german if you meant that.
The best hungarian
it's not a Tifo video if no one mentions man like Nándor Hidegkuti lmao
They could've won 1954 WC if they were screwed by the refs
How were they screwed?
After the first camera recordings created by fans came out it was clear that it was not offside...
I love your vids, Tifo. But for the love of everything sacred, next time get someone who speaks the language. The name pronunciations are just painful to listen to for a native speaker.
BASED TIFO

Who owns Juventus next!!!

The stats don't lie, Rooney is better.
lol at praising Puskás for being an anticommunist fascist and playing for fucking Franco CF of all things holy shit
