hey primate just want to say that you should definitley watch the Steve jobs movie with Ashton kutcher its a really good movie on par with this and he coincidentally looks like Steve did in his youth
I recently rewatched this film and was blown away by it. First time I watched it was when it first came out and I didn't use Facebook so I wasn't really into it too much. But now, all of these years later I recognize the genius of this film and the acting.
The text at the end saying how “Mark Zuckerberg became the youngest billionaire in the world” alongside an intense closeup of Mark looking sad and uncertain is such beautiful juxtaposition. At least in this film, Mark’s climb to success leads to him driving people away, and him sending Erica Albright a friend request after calling her “a bitch” in the beginning is such a bittersweet and complex bookend.
mr.moviemafia: It's very possible that the money is the main situation that created a divide between him and the other people in his life. Especially his friends. Especially his best friend. I noticed that each of these cases were settled out of court, which lends to the possibility that he wanted to just get rid of everyone... Or that it was an awkward attempt to fix the relationships in his life. Or both. I really believe that there's an excellent chance that MZ looked sad and alone at the end not only because of the money. I believe it was equally caused by being a genius, which is a lonely thing. On the sliding scale of high intelligence to low intelligence, most people fall in the middle and are able to navigate between their thoughts and their emotions. So, I kinda think there's a good reason the filmmakers showed his brilliance and social awkwardness from the beginning. MZ was shown to have a high intellect and low ability to socially connect on the emotional level. And that's a lonely place for geniuses because they don't have many people they can relate to. Even trying to discuss ideas and interests can be frustrating because most of the world is average as hell and he's thinking and talking about multiple Ideas at once, and can't get why others can't. And, isn't it interesting that a guy with extreme issues making friends and having close relationships was obsessed with creating a Social Media Site business?
Andrew Garfield is in my opinion one of the best "modern-day" actors right now. Also, have you already watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3 in theaters? Would love to see your reaction to it when it comes to digital regardless.
Andrew Garfield is one of my all time favorite actors. He is incredible in this, Tick Tick Boom and Hacksaw Ridge. I also think he’s my favorite Spider-Man, despite having grown up with the Tobey Maguire movies.
The score for this movie is an absolute masterpiece!! Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are now in the conversation for greatest film composers of all time (when u take John Williams out of the equation)
I’m glad you enjoyed this! I think you’d also like ‘Steve Jobs’ (2015). It’s another biopic written by the same guy as ‘The Social Network’, so the plot’s interesting w/ a lot of tense & funny dialogue.
David Fincher is truly a master of his craft. Whilst the social network is my favourite of his films, Gone Girl comes in a super close second. I would absolutely recommend it.
The Social Network sits head-and-shoulders above pretty much every other biopic for many reasons, but for me it comes down to their willingness to villainize the main character and Facebook as a whole. It’s about Zuckerberg, and he’s portrayed very engagingly, but Eduardo is undoubtedly the closest thing to a “hero” the film has. Most films based on a true story make the main character seem idealized, but this film feels refreshing. There are a lot of liberties taken to make a more compelling film, but it’s all done to emphasize the thematic truth. The dialogue is also so sharp and intelligent that it keeps the pacing perfect. While it made me understand Facebook and its creators so much more, it also made me think much worse about social media. Such a great film!
When this movie came out I watched it in the theater 3 days in a row. Twice by myself and then with some friends. Never done that with any other movie. I love Aaron Sorkin’s writing. I rewatch the whole West Wing series at least once a year and I don’t even necessarily agree with or understand half of the politics in it. Molly’s Game, The Newsroom, etc..just brilliant.
I remember alot of this when it went down. I needed a college email to sign up for FB. Relationship status was a huge add back in the day lol like no site had it. It all went to shit when they let everyone join
9/10 A big surprise I'd put off watching THE SOCIAL NETWORK for a time, suspecting it to be a dry and slow-moving film. After all, it was about the guy who founded Facebook, so how much fun could it be? I didn't much like the idea of watching a film based around people sitting on computers, so I was in no hurry to see it. Now I've watched it, and things have changed. Because THE SOCIAL NETWORK turns out to be one of David Fincher's best films, and that's from a director whose filmography is littered with gems. This is a hugely entertaining and thoroughly gripping story of success, defeat, lies and deceit, and I was so caught up in the narrative that the two hour running time flew past. The joy of THE SOCIAL NETWORK is that it focuses on the conflict between the various parties involved with the founding of one of the world's most popular websites. It's bam, bam, bam, with barely time to breathe, let alone get bored. Good performances are given across the board, particularly from Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield, two actors I'm normally disposed to dislike, both of whom are excellent. Technical values are, unsurprisingly, absolutely spectacular, and it's clear that Fincher is in his element, making a mini-masterpiece out of the premise. Splendid stuff.
Always enjoy the watching movies I’ve never seen with you because you actually include the storyline in your edits, not just clips jumbled for a reaction. BUT I CANT WAIT FOR BREAKING BAD
I vividly remember bypassing the college email requirement when they let you join if someone with a college email invited you. I was a junior in high school in '06 and a bunch of our seniors were taking college classes so they hooked all of us up with the invite. Couldn't tell us nothing smh. Anyway, yes to watching all the Andrew Garfield movies. I love love him as an actor and his interviews are hilarious too. Frequent microdosing lol
Such a good movie bro, Andrew Garfield too me was the best acting in the movie , I loved it all and all the actors but he really made you connect with that character (and zuckerberg ain’t that cool just the actor is top tier but I’m sure he was smart af with his comebacks and was smart af but I think he’s too smart for his own good …meta is scary in the long Term of things 😭) also how random was Justin Timberlake 😭
I'm skeptical that this movie is accurate, but this is the first movie I saw Andrew Garfield in and I was immediately impressed. The actor who plays Mark does a great job, but it also means that when he got cast as Lex Luthor I literally could not see him as anything else, haha.
The girl really did try to give him a gem in that women wouldn't want to date him because he's an asshole and then his incredibly intelligent ass (well, not emotionally intelligent) went back to his dorm and proceeded to be...an even bigger asshole. Lord 😆
Not a lot of people reacted to this one, I enjoyed it when it originally came out. Glad some content creators like you are going outside of the box and reacting to things that aren't the norm.
Primate it's random but damn is it nice to hear people mention how shitty their eyesight it. Like bro if my glasses/contacts arent in I am basically blind 🤣
A movie I recommend you should react to Is shatter glass with Hayden Christensen which I think Is one of his best performances and It’s based on a true story about a journalist who fabricated stories
The chicken story always gets me heated bc it’s so inconsequential and SUCH a reach to call it animal cruelty 😭 the chicken doesnt give a fuck about eating chicken
It feels good to watch this movie again for the 5th time as I love this movie that I wished to watch during the time when it released at theaters but I had to skip it till I head into college to watch it for “Computer Science” Course. As we had to study it and form coding in making our own blog site to website for a final test. As it was around half the grade from getting a 50/50 then next publish it to let others use it. It was a lot of work and notes to take down but it was totally worth the experience. 😌 So glad to see your reaction to this movie as I never seen anyone else who react to this movie. Thanks for reacting to it and there is news that there might be a “Sequel” coming but need the same director to make it happen. I have my fingers cross it can happy and maybe show insight of making “Instagram” or leading up to “Meta” since Facebook done both sites that branch some story telling through movie version.
Great movie, but overall Makes me despise mark even more. While giving his 'best friend's a contract to lessen the amount as co founder to a very small amount. Fked up way to treat a friend
his character is extremely removed from the actual guy. this is a movie character that follows real life events, not an actual retelling of real life. the movie is a movie first and facts second
Some parts of this movie were very accurate. The thinking that went into the early development of Facebook and how it was different from and stood out against competitors like MySpace and Friendster, for example. And the courtroom deposition scenes, though dramatized, read as so authentic it's likely that a lot of the dialogue was lifted directly from actual transcripts. Other parts are totally inaccurate. Most of the stuff about Zuckerberg's personal life is pretty much horseshit. Though he did get in trouble for doing the Facemash thing and did go to Harvard that's about where the accuracies end on that side of things.
6:27 it isn’t condescending it’s objectifying and he created facemash while publicly blogging about his ex and insulting her out of anger, i think the note passed him was more meant to continue the theme that hes an asshole and its for that reason that women dislike him
Well apparently the legal part is completely accurate but Mark was turned into a complete asshole with no touch, when in reality he's just "quirky" also he doesn't speak that fast.
I’m only halfway thru your reaction and I’m incredibly frustrated. How can you see Zuck as a sympathetic character?! He’s clearly the the villain that he is today.
This movie does have its inacuracies, one of them being Eduardo being portrayed as the good guy, when he was, in fact, dissolved from the company for a good reason. That reason being him displaying ads on facebook that benefitted only him, which was conveniently left out of the movie. Also, Sean Parker actually contributed to the company in countless ways, so he was very much an active contributor to the company's success.
We all want to be nice to women anyway. It just doesn't get us anywhere. But for nerds, the friendzone is still up, so we should still welcome it. American women want us to have a billion dollars, so we are all just going to have to get a billion dollars.
@@libra_v3 neither is The Wolf of Wall Street, Hacksaw Ridge, Unbroken, Moneyball, Rush, Ford vs Ferrari, or Lamborghini: Man Behind the Legend. But they all depict the people properly because they're true stories. What's your point? 😂

Honestly Howard Shore is probably above them too, but there's certainly no shame in that.
This is an absolute, all-time great! I’ve met tons of people who think of it as one of their favorite movie ever made, and for good reason
I’m glad you enjoyed this!

So much weird defending of Zuckerberg in this video lol
Felt weird watching this with him clearly seeing Mark as the protagonist as opposed to the main character.
The conversation at the beginning of the movie sets the tone
Sorkin's dialogue is incredible.
This movie is the complete package. Accurate or not I could watch any part or the whole thing and come away stimulated and satisfied.
I love when he smashes the computer.
This movie was based on the book written by Eduardo. And evidently his percentage was "only" cut to 10% not less than 1%.
3:43 "he just doesn't have a filter man, he says what he thinks..."

The movie is low key accurate since it was taken from the transcripts of the depositions.
