In my experience and opinion, I don't like the Wand of Fireblast. It burns grass and scrolls that could be accidentally unnoticed in the dark, and if you stand in the doorway or on the grass, you can catch fire yourself. And with the Wand of Transfusion, I was able to complete the game with 7 challenges. The mage subclass "Battlemage" reveals the abilities of this wand, giving the character endless shields, although the wand does not have enough damage. The Wand of Warding is also cool. With the help of three strong wards, I was able to defeat the King of Dwarves so quickly that he didn't even have time to summon many minions. Wand of Blast Wave + Wand of Corrosion I like it too Some say that the Wand of Corruption is interesting along with the cursed Dried Rose that summons wraiths. These wraiths obey in just one charge with a wand, but with this strategy I couldn't get far with a bunch of challenges
I wouldn't reccomend you to use fire as main attacking weapon unless you have potion of dragon blood or fire enchantment on armour(or ring of elements),especially if your build is relying in allies/copies.But it's cool,it can help also in finding secret/quest rooms to save you bombs and fire potions(from which you can make dragon blood,see?)
I like prismatic light to be s tier imo, the ability to blind enemies works very well against enemies that uses abilities, including succubi, evil eyes, dm-100 and so on. On high levels the blind % is pretty reliable, even if u cant blind it in 1 hit doesnt mean the end. And if u blind them over ranged enemies in a distance, u can just treat them like melee enemies and get free hits in, also a surprise melee attack since it is blinded. Furthermore, the bonus damage works well against prison guards in early game. Lastly the ability to discover traps or lights up that certain area is an icing to the cake. Prismatic light is better than disintegration for me overall.
I think it's way WAY better than disintegration, at least as battle mage. It crippled on hit, blinds from across the map, heavy damage for late game enemies, can detect traps. If you get projection on a staff of prismatic light as battle mage, it's absolutely devastating with the cripple effect
I'd create an S+ tier just for Fireblast and Blastwave. Fireblast just works, but Blastwave really tests how creative a player you are. You can make some really big-brain ballsy plays with blastwave. Positioning imo is the greatest decider of runs in SPD, and blastwave gives you near total control of any battlefield.
No need for "all in" just slap a +5 or +6 plate armor on. Then you can go for the final level of upgrades on wands Well it's a bit complicated trying to explain the upgrade priorities but hopefully, you got the point
Warlock with living earth is a won run for me, even on multiple challenges. Though recently i prefer the magic missile as it upgrades your wands for one shot anyway
@@sadegh4982 i never upgrade armor, i scour till i find a few +1 or +2 armor, then get the troll to combine the armor up, with great shield, but it seems like all the ranged attacks cut right through it, and so it high armor wasn't as valuable does armor block magic and ranged attacks better at higher levels i've tried the ring that is supposed to reduce magic affect, and even antimagic armor, but, the only solutions i have found, are evasion getting in to melee regrowth-/hiding earth golem distraction, eg shooting earth wand to summon minion at melee to keep them from shooting me but if they shoot me with magic, and i don't dodge effectively, then it seems to do massive damage and effects, that armor doesn't seem to make a difference

I think I pretty much agree on all these choices, except I might put wand of warding up into (the admittedly overcrowded) S tier! Oh, I had an idea for future challenges: all-in wand builds! The only rule is that you must pick a wand and put all of your upgrades into it. Now I think you've already done a bunch of these (fireblast, disintegration, regrowth, and warding for sure). It would be really interesting to see a few of the lower tier ones. All-in prismatic? All-in corruption (without corpse dust)? All-in living earth? All-in frost actually seems pretty bad so I'm not sure how that would work. I think all-in lightning could be doable though, especially if you use alchemy to make aqua blasts and other sources of water to maximize lightning bounce damage. Could be really strong against dwarf king! All-in transfusion might be quite difficult, though I could see it being an interesting build for a rogue with shadow clone! It might be hard to get that crown though!
I have actually done some of these, in fact my first duelist 9 chall win was every single upgrade scroll on a blastwave. And for how some of the builds would turn out I can give some knowledge. Prismatic light has pretty low damage in some areas but actually good damage in the harder zones for the most part, prisons, metro, and demon halls all have mostly enemies affected by the extra damage and sewers damage is fairly irrelevant as anything that ignores armor shreds, and caves is a little bit tricky but blinding and careful use of traps should be enough, then the only real hurdle is the golems in metro, which admittedly are a pretty BIG issue but still possible to cheese by abusing the tellaport cool down and trick shot angles you should be fine. All in on corruption is actually busted because at higher levels you just hit something once or twice and then corrupt them, then if you just follow your corrupted minions and let them do the heavy lifting you can easily amas a army each floor with minimal actual combat, and for the bosses that don't have minions doomed is still an incredibly powerful debug alone, and high level corruption has access to some crazy powerful debuffs that can make bosses a non issue for the most part, but is absolutely the best on battle mage where you can have your staff as a decent weapon. All in on living earth is surprisingly doable even in 9 chall because in sewers it's shreds and tanks really well, prisons it allows you to avoid bone explosions, and even in caves just the damage from the bolt deals decent enough damage, and with the earthen golem as a albeit shot lived distraction it's fairly easy to keep your distance, but living earth dump really shines on warlock because you can soul mark both you golem and the enemy, and because of how the talent soul siphon is coded, anything attacking a soul marked creature applies the effects, even an enemy attacking a soul marked ally and this can make for some crazy healing. All in on frost is actually crazy strong on warlock because with a little counting you can easily kite enemies at melee range in a similar fashion to cripple kiting, and this paired with soul marking enemies for healing and low damage weapons being crazy on warlock you have a build with infinite sustane and a way to albeit slowly no hit most enemies, also wand of frost does more damage and chilling on enemies that are standing in water allowing for aqua brew to be even more powerful than it already is All in on lightning is actually quite doable and even used to be the speedrun meta because of its high damage, but definitely easiest if you have a consistent way to gain distance from enemies, namely something like a haste ring, glyph of flow, or a wand of regrowth for that rooting effect. All in on transfusion is actually quite decent as it's a large safety net with how much shielding it gives, and like prismatic light it does considerable damage in most of the most difficult areas, and also has good utility in the others, it can instantly pacify all ranged enemies with the exception of evil eyes and dwarf warlocks, which it does extra damage to, and also just makes it easier to fight enemies one on one without backtracking as much, and also pacifies gnoll brutes for the entirety of there berserk rage, and can also just generally cut down on damage intake from any region. I haven't personally tested all of these strategies so take it with a grant of salt, but I like to think of myself as an experienced player so it should work decently well Also wondrous resin can singlehandedly make any wand dump run not only viable but powerful as well, and even unlocks infinite farming by life stealing from immortal entities such as troll blacksmith and leftover deactivated power pylons from dm 300
@@sadegh4982 it's very possible with any class as high level corruption has insane debuffs and high corruption chance and once you have one minion you can just follow it and chain it into more minions
@@sadegh4982 If you want your disruptor staff to do more work, you should use Wizard and elemental burst. Because with the Wizard you can gain life and also have an extra slave. You can also make enemies slaves by making them fall against each other with the elemental explosion.
YES!!! Shattered pixel dungeon is one of the best all time free mobile games I have been playing it since it first released and I'm so happy this video showed up. I have never seen a shattered pixel dungeon video show up on youtube
I feel like there should be a separate tier list for battlemage, some notes on specific class synergies (warlock likes anything that debuffs, warden extra value from regrowth etc), and how useful they are at +10 vs +0 (or +3 from resin). At +0 the S tier changes a lot, tireblast still does crazy damage at low level and is worth using as burning scales with depth, blast and regrowth are just as great, but corrosion and disintegration are kinda useless. Transfusion and corruption are great utility so would move up a lot too
You're good at this game. I thought i knew it like the back of my hand. I been playin' since OG Pixel Dungeon. This is obviously the better game though. By far. Favorite game, really. I have about 12 wins out of 650 tries. One of the updates erased my record.
Magic missile can kind of be useful in mage run because it lets you have hogh levels on all the other wands you have when you put all your upgrades in the staff
personally, the combo i enjoy the most is blast wave with either corrosion or lightning, the chance to hit multiple targets it's awesome, but the fire wand might hurt you back because fire is hard to control
I feel like the utility the wand of corruption gives makes it worth more than D tier. I think of the summoning wraith part, as an extra bonus to everything else the wand can do. A random enemy debuff can allow for much more flexibility in many situations. Whether it be cripple, slow, amok, weakened, blinded, (terrified isn't too good imo) or vulnerable, each of these can be great when fighting certain enemies. Amok when you're fighting a group, Cripple when trying to kite slow enemies, Slow when fighting strong hitting enemies, Blinded is just great in general like you said, and then Weakened and Vulnerable are just good for damage/defense. Although you have a looot more experience than I do, so I might be over valuing this item
Corruption is S my guy(Triple damage/minons plus with the warlock build you can teleport and have your minions make more minions) as is Frost(You slow and damage enemies as well as being able to turn the meat into carpachio) and Transfutions is apsolutly an F if that tier was here(Happy to see fellow SPD enthusist)
I think corruption is criminally underated. Not only does it get better at corrupting enemies with upgrades, but it also lengthens the amount of time the debuffs last. Because debuffs hit stronger enemies harder than weaker enemies, wand of corruption becomes very strong late game, when most other wands' linear damage scaling starts falling off
imo the wand is fine and pretty fun, but if you invest a lot into it you can run into issues where you need a second way to deal damage which can spread your upgrades thin, and relying on corrupted minions to clear floors can be a pain. It synergizes well with warlock for applying a bunch of debuffs, and its pretty good at +0 as an opener to just apply a debuff before fighting something
@Drspangleipo imo battlemage is better with corruption. The ability to amok targets you hit is really powerful. Also,you do not have to spread upgrades thin if your wand is also your weapon
For battle mage wand of corruption is really good You may have hard time till cave floor but after that it'll be a breez What I like to do is get a plus one plate armor and reforg it to plus 3 and use two upgrade scrolls to make it 5. After that I use all my arkane styli to get potential glimpse. Then I choose empowered wand, shielding and artifact recharge as traits. You can never die after that and you can amok every enemies. I spend the rest of the scrolls for wand upgrade
Most of the time, i didn't use fire blast at all, i know the damage and aoe are nice but so many times it ended up burning up scrolls behind tall grass i couldn't see, it's annoying me to see that. Transfusion is a fun one, i have a few runs where i got one from the wandmaker while also lucky to obtain the dried rose. It was the most enjoyable run as i was able to gather good items to make the ghost overpowered. It's so funny to see the ghost 1v1 boss on his own, just need occasional healing from wand from time to time.
I think the wand of frost is a little underrated. Well, of course, if it’s not upgraded enough, then it’s really trash. Well, at least it works great on a mage, it can also form a build for a gladiator and a huntress (although you can use a cheaper alternative for them, such as a bolas) I think it deserves to be in B tier, considering that even the more situational wand of warding is in A tier. Edit: I forgot to mention that the wand of frost also works very well with the monk, since she can recharge the wands with meditation and just spam the frost wand, freezing the enemy well even if the wand is low level
I love the wand of prismatic light. It had helped me obtain doom slayer badge. I struggle to position well in the demon halls, wand of prismatic light basically covered that weakness of mine and I was able to win easily.
my bias: I don't usually level wands, maybe a level or two for a utility. I appreciate wands for utility first, & guarunteed ranged damage. I don't really get mage. I just stick to physical damage. I don't like the thought of not having a heavy implement to fall back on. my rankings: living earth - c ok defensive value; earth guardian tends not to buy you many turns, but it has it's worth fireblast - c I don't like it, it's too volatile. nonetheless, good offensive value, & can burn down barricades & such, so you can save a potion & alchemise it or something corruption - d disintigration - b+ more controlled than the wand of fireblast, which I appreciate, with the same utility. the penetration damage bonus can be very helpful if you plan around it. still, the destruction of doors & such can be a detriment blast wave - s for the clever ones. more useful the more you think to use it. satisfying for destroying multiple wraiths in one after desecrating a tomb. my personal favourite utility is blowing piranhas right out of the water. I understand why they don't let you rocket jump off of walls, but that would be really fun. good for making distance too. op if you just need to get a foe out of the level & there's a chasm corrosion - s high damage, over time means it ticks up even as you use other means of attack, & less risk to the hero too if you need to keep behind cover. it's only weakness is piranhas, which is a bit annoying but I guess I don't really need the meat warding - b I will grant that it's cool to stack up damage in preparation, & be able to do moves in the following melee. unfortunately, not a huge fan of the thing myself. I prefer damage on demand frost - s- great utility, which is what I care about. save all your potions of frost, & good for the fire elementals & the fresh elemental. I do miss the op old version of chilled though. aesthetically peak. obviously not good sustained damage, though if you have another wand or two it's definitely good supplemental damage. used to be my favourite wand, but probably not worth upgrading more than maybe +1 in its current state, you'll hardly ever use more than a few charges at a time. the good thing is you get all you need from it at unupgraded prismatic light - c+ it will serve regrowth - c I acknowledge that it's very powerful in the right hands, but I can't get behind it. too passive transfusion - c it has fair use. but it isn't what I want. in many ways it serves a similar way to the wand of living earth magic missile - a its extra charge is appreciated, it's very easy to just keep blasting. admittedly having lower damage & more uses usually just means using more turns, but I like it. its wand empowerment ability can be quite cool, but when you get to have many wands, you probably won't get all your charges out. it does mean you can situationally double or triple your upgrade scrolls' worth. worth investing in if you have a few wands you fancy lightning - s my current favourite. it does mean damage, stunning, even shocking stopping power. that's all
I run huntress too much to like the wand of fire blast. I like sneak attacks using the bow, and the grass that fireblast burns down is most of how I do that. I prefer blast wave, because it just takes out a bit of grass, and adds more space for me to fire arrows.
And for the classes, you can use the wands with great chances of success:Mage(obviously) /monk (just watch the recent videos of cake) Free runner(you can go with a wand because you can run away from melee combat ) Hope this helpful for newer players Love you all❤
The fire wand is powerful and neat to cook meat and destroy walls, but I hate the risk of burning scrolls or herbs. It also doesn't work well on water, and if you're not careful you'll burn yourself unless you have a sulphur glyph. So I'd rather put it in A or B. Though I'll confess I've never tried upgrading it much. I imagine it must be very powerful against the king.
One follow-up question I have is how would you change the tier list for 6 challenge runs or even 9 challenges? I think prismatic light goes up a lot in value if you're running into darkness, for example. And of course regrowth goes way down in value with barren lands...
I think the heavy damage wands stay on S, and that's why transfusion got bumped up higher because the shield saved me a ton on my last 9 challenge attempt. The lower wands perhaps would all be non touchables. Prismatic blind would be more clutch yeah.
@@runningfromcake Prismatic isn't just useful for blind (on high challenges), though it is amazing for that. Prismatic is also a light source which can help you see a lot further than a torch in big rooms! Every upgrade into a prismatic wand gives it 5 more turns of light duration, so a highly upgraded one can light up a room for a long time

i'd really like an explanation of all the wand's "evolutions, so to speak eg i have found some wands that have fundamental changes as they level up, eg regrowth sparklies, earth armor sprouts a golem, wards gain health, light can blind, etc but it seems like some of the wands can do things that are fundamentally unpridictable at higher levels,
I mostly agree but I would put fire in A tier, too many downsides and living earth in C tear, It's fine but not as useful as prismatic light or as damaging as lightning. It's cool that every item in this game has some utility. Even the F tear wands can make a build in the right context.
regrowth is so good especially on rogue. I went assassin build and had a +1 regrowth wand plus the armor enchant that makes you invis when you walk on a plant. On assassin, it's BROKEN. then I lucked out on floor 19 and got an axe with blooming enchant lol perma invis.. Plus I had a +10 book, +10 chalice, and +10 horn of plenty. That run was stupid easy. I had 3 challenges on for that run
Magic missiles is very op if u have a lot of wand i once found 4 wands in one run and 1 wand of fireblast from my last run skeletal remains and it was very fun cuz i can use whatever wand when i need the most
The Wand of Overgrowth is the best. The only character i beat the game with is the Warden. Max level wand, max boots, alchemy kit and Camo-armor is best build.
I never know what to use my upgrade scrolls on. Rings? Weapon? Wands? Armor? I always end up spreading them out and nothing ever excels. I usually die in the later levels and have only finished the game once in all the years playing
If putting the corruption wand in the bottom tier without a second thought was rage-bait, I'm falling for that so hard right now. I can admit, if you've got a fistful of low-level wands in your pack the corruption wand is the worst of them. Have you never done a corrupting battlemage run? You spoke so fondly of the "tower defense mode", the way a fully committed corruption run changes the gameplay is on a whole different level. You're no longer just another hapless adventurer fighting against the odds to save the world. You're the next wave of evil sweeping through the land, usurping all the power you can grasp and destroying the rest. Look up a seed for it if you have to, it is an insanely fun run.
That's exactly right, I haven't done a corruption battlemage run, it's on top of my list to try. My experience is corruption wand has been mediocre, but from the comments I see it's worth giving another try.
The self-damage on lightning is pretty annoying, but at +1/+5 per upgrade and 5-10 base damage, the damage speaks for itself. Also, clearing out trap rooms for exp and items have never been easier. Just my 2 cents.
Corruption is the best warlock wand in the game by a good margin. It basically turns off the bosses and the Wild Magic skill giving amok status is a life-saver in Demon Halls.
give it a shot! it's really fun once you get used to it, remember you can recharge the wards from anywhere on the map, it flies through the walls and heals them up.

@@runningfromcake I like the cold wand for slowing down + for above-average damage, although at the same price and for a couple of shots (only on the magician it means), and on others it is a good wand, but others are better
Wand of Fireblast is Goated but if it's your only damage source burning fist will hard counter you, also you put Lightning in low A but Fireblast is also bad in melee not only can it set you on fire it has a blindspot in melee distance
Also i miss the time corruption wand used to be stupidly op vs wraith. Until dev nerfed it, making the entire strategy around it and corpse dust become trash. Still miss that one zap to corrupt wraith
I used the corruption wand to get the oacifist achievement. Then, i got robbed and lost my phone with all of my progress. Now i don't have that achievement😅
It’s easy to get over confident or just lazy and loose even a great run. I had an amazing ring of wealth dried rose run going. Then I forgot the ghost had my good armor and weapon equipped and I got swarmed by the dwarf king’s minions.
I had the wand of regrowth as a rogue and constantly used it on hordes of enemies because it instantly cut off line of sight, not the best in boss fights though
Wands of corruption should at least be better just because of impending doom and all of the other effects it can give by the way impending doom gives 85% damage increase the like for the people attacking the enemy it never goes away until the enemy dies

I have transmute higher because just the other day it saved me in a 9 challenge run, or else yeah it'd probably be lower, and I get bored with the necromancy run but it seems like a lot of people like corruption and frost so I'll have to give them a second look.
I feel like there's 2 ways of looking at this...a tier list of wands for a mage that will staff imbue and drop SoUs on it, and wands for other classes that will not spend SoUs on it. It feels like this tier list is more mage oriented. Or I don't understand the game at all lol
yeah, most comments that say corruption wand is S tier are talking about battlemage. This is from the perspective of a run with any character and finding a random wand and thinking, hmm is this good to use all my upgrades on, or not.
@@runningfromcake If you are out of ideas for content, I would like to see a generic tier list for glyphs and another for enchantments too and maybe a third video with the best combos of the two, or videos for each classes/subclass with best (let's say...) 3 items to find in each slot...for example: sharpshooting ring would likely be in huntress top 3 rings, but ring of haste would likely be present in almost every top 3 rings for any class/subclass perhaps...idk

If u are willing to spend your time to farm a ton of health potions then ring of wealth. But I would not recommend as mage though, you might miss your attacks(when you run out of charges) and lose a lot of health that way.
I run warden most often and wealth is a great drop for me. Just a couple upgrades and you get way more potions and scrolls, it goes great with the unstable spellbook. Filling it completely goes way faster atleast.
Wand of corruption with a warlock (mage) build is absolutely OP Haven't you ever tried it cake? Im not saying its a S tier wand but it deserves a B or C
This tier list is okay, and granted most tier lists are opinion based. But man why would he put transfusion on A tier while at the same time putting prismatic light on B and corruption on D.
Strongly disagree with the corruption wand. This wand is the only way for most classes to apply useful debuffs, especially early-mid game, the zombie part i see as just a bonus. You praise the shield from transfusion, but weakening a strong enemy will make you lose even less hp compared to using a transfusion wand. Yes, it is not as reliable, but it is always useful, so i see it at least on the same level as the wand of transfusion

Yeah you have to hit them 8 times in a row, but then the debuff is permanent. Can be nice but really needs the upgrade scrolls.

I believe I've been playing shattered for more than 4 years now. Easily. And I am very happy the community is growing. God bless your descent into the dungeon, brothers. May the power of the amulet never corrupt you. May you banish Yog back to its realm, even if for only one day more.
In my experience and opinion, I don't like the Wand of Fireblast. It burns grass and scrolls that could be accidentally unnoticed in the dark, and if you stand in the doorway or on the grass, you can catch fire yourself.
And with the Wand of Transfusion, I was able to complete the game with 7 challenges. The mage subclass "Battlemage" reveals the abilities of this wand, giving the character endless shields, although the wand does not have enough damage.
The Wand of Warding is also cool. With the help of three strong wards, I was able to defeat the King of Dwarves so quickly that he didn't even have time to summon many minions.
Wand of Blast Wave + Wand of Corrosion I like it too
Some say that the Wand of Corruption is interesting along with the cursed Dried Rose that summons wraiths. These wraiths obey in just one charge with a wand, but with this strategy I couldn't get far with a bunch of challenges
I wouldn't reccomend you to use fire as main attacking weapon unless you have potion of dragon blood or fire enchantment on armour(or ring of elements),especially if your build is relying in allies/copies.But it's cool,it can help also in finding secret/quest rooms to save you bombs and fire potions(from which you can make dragon blood,see?)
Transfusion wizard is an absolute unit. Slowly punches everything to death and eats all damage
Just be careful to avoid the grass when hitting people with fire
Necromancer build can absolutely go far in high chal runs
You genius one, I don't even think about, it. When I find graves I do a lot of minions, but I couldn't connect these two facts with a logical chain.
I like prismatic light to be s tier imo, the ability to blind enemies works very well against enemies that uses abilities, including succubi, evil eyes, dm-100 and so on. On high levels the blind % is pretty reliable, even if u cant blind it in 1 hit doesnt mean the end. And if u blind them over ranged enemies in a distance, u can just treat them like melee enemies and get free hits in, also a surprise melee attack since it is blinded. Furthermore, the bonus damage works well against prison guards in early game. Lastly the ability to discover traps or lights up that certain area is an icing to the cake. Prismatic light is better than disintegration for me overall.

Also it can give light like a torch(with a smaller duration though)in darkness or fog.Which is usefull in the last dungeon where it is always dark
I think it's way WAY better than disintegration, at least as battle mage. It crippled on hit, blinds from across the map, heavy damage for late game enemies, can detect traps. If you get projection on a staff of prismatic light as battle mage, it's absolutely devastating with the cripple effect
I'd create an S+ tier just for Fireblast and Blastwave. Fireblast just works, but Blastwave really tests how creative a player you are. You can make some really big-brain ballsy plays with blastwave. Positioning imo is the greatest decider of runs in SPD, and blastwave gives you near total control of any battlefield.

No need for "all in" just slap a +5 or +6 plate armor on. Then you can go for the final level of upgrades on wands

Warlock with living earth is a won run for me, even on multiple challenges. Though recently i prefer the magic missile as it upgrades your wands for one shot anyway
@@sadegh4982 i never upgrade armor, i scour till i find a few +1 or +2 armor, then get the troll to combine the armor up, with great shield,
but it seems like all the ranged attacks cut right through it, and so it high armor wasn't as valuable
does armor block magic and ranged attacks better at higher levels
i've tried the ring that is supposed to reduce magic affect, and even antimagic armor,
but, the only solutions i have found, are
evasion
getting in to melee
regrowth-/hiding
earth golem distraction, eg shooting earth wand to summon minion at melee to keep them from shooting me
but if they shoot me with magic, and i don't dodge effectively, then it seems to do massive damage and effects, that armor doesn't seem to make a difference

I think I pretty much agree on all these choices, except I might put wand of warding up into (the admittedly overcrowded) S tier! Oh, I had an idea for future challenges: all-in wand builds! The only rule is that you must pick a wand and put all of your upgrades into it. Now I think you've already done a bunch of these (fireblast, disintegration, regrowth, and warding for sure). It would be really interesting to see a few of the lower tier ones. All-in prismatic? All-in corruption (without corpse dust)? All-in living earth? All-in frost actually seems pretty bad so I'm not sure how that would work. I think all-in lightning could be doable though, especially if you use alchemy to make aqua blasts and other sources of water to maximize lightning bounce damage. Could be really strong against dwarf king! All-in transfusion might be quite difficult, though I could see it being an interesting build for a rogue with shadow clone! It might be hard to get that crown though!
I have actually done some of these, in fact my first duelist 9 chall win was every single upgrade scroll on a blastwave.
And for how some of the builds would turn out I can give some knowledge.
Prismatic light has pretty low damage in some areas but actually good damage in the harder zones for the most part, prisons, metro, and demon halls all have mostly enemies affected by the extra damage and sewers damage is fairly irrelevant as anything that ignores armor shreds, and caves is a little bit tricky but blinding and careful use of traps should be enough, then the only real hurdle is the golems in metro, which admittedly are a pretty BIG issue but still possible to cheese by abusing the tellaport cool down and trick shot angles you should be fine.
All in on corruption is actually busted because at higher levels you just hit something once or twice and then corrupt them, then if you just follow your corrupted minions and let them do the heavy lifting you can easily amas a army each floor with minimal actual combat, and for the bosses that don't have minions doomed is still an incredibly powerful debug alone, and high level corruption has access to some crazy powerful debuffs that can make bosses a non issue for the most part, but is absolutely the best on battle mage where you can have your staff as a decent weapon.
All in on living earth is surprisingly doable even in 9 chall because in sewers it's shreds and tanks really well, prisons it allows you to avoid bone explosions, and even in caves just the damage from the bolt deals decent enough damage, and with the earthen golem as a albeit shot lived distraction it's fairly easy to keep your distance, but living earth dump really shines on warlock because you can soul mark both you golem and the enemy, and because of how the talent soul siphon is coded, anything attacking a soul marked creature applies the effects, even an enemy attacking a soul marked ally and this can make for some crazy healing.
All in on frost is actually crazy strong on warlock because with a little counting you can easily kite enemies at melee range in a similar fashion to cripple kiting, and this paired with soul marking enemies for healing and low damage weapons being crazy on warlock you have a build with infinite sustane and a way to albeit slowly no hit most enemies, also wand of frost does more damage and chilling on enemies that are standing in water allowing for aqua brew to be even more powerful than it already is
All in on lightning is actually quite doable and even used to be the speedrun meta because of its high damage, but definitely easiest if you have a consistent way to gain distance from enemies, namely something like a haste ring, glyph of flow, or a wand of regrowth for that rooting effect.
All in on transfusion is actually quite decent as it's a large safety net with how much shielding it gives, and like prismatic light it does considerable damage in most of the most difficult areas, and also has good utility in the others, it can instantly pacify all ranged enemies with the exception of evil eyes and dwarf warlocks, which it does extra damage to, and also just makes it easier to fight enemies one on one without backtracking as much, and also pacifies gnoll brutes for the entirety of there berserk rage, and can also just generally cut down on damage intake from any region.
I haven't personally tested all of these strategies so take it with a grant of salt, but I like to think of myself as an experienced player so it should work decently well
Also wondrous resin can singlehandedly make any wand dump run not only viable but powerful as well, and even unlocks infinite farming by life stealing from immortal entities such as troll blacksmith and leftover deactivated power pylons from dm 300

@@sadegh4982 If you want your disruptor staff to do more work, you should use Wizard and elemental burst. Because with the Wizard you can gain life and also have an extra slave. You can also make enemies slaves by making them fall against each other with the elemental explosion.

I feel like there should be a separate tier list for battlemage, some notes on specific class synergies (warlock likes anything that debuffs, warden extra value from regrowth etc), and how useful they are at +10 vs +0 (or +3 from resin). At +0 the S tier changes a lot, tireblast still does crazy damage at low level and is worth using as burning scales with depth, blast and regrowth are just as great, but corrosion and disintegration are kinda useless. Transfusion and corruption are great utility so would move up a lot too

You're good at this game. I thought i knew it like the back of my hand. I been playin' since OG Pixel Dungeon. This is obviously the better game though. By far. Favorite game, really. I have about 12 wins out of 650 tries. One of the updates erased my record.

Magic missile can kind of be useful in mage run because it lets you have hogh levels on all the other wands you have when you put all your upgrades in the staff
I've been playing SPD for years and I never knew about the Golden Lotus, definitely going to try that on my next Warden run.

You forgot about cursed wand! This wand has a lot powerful abilities and it's very funny.
personally, the combo i enjoy the most is blast wave with either corrosion or lightning, the chance to hit multiple targets it's awesome, but the fire wand might hurt you back because fire is hard to control
I feel like the utility the wand of corruption gives makes it worth more than D tier. I think of the summoning wraith part, as an extra bonus to everything else the wand can do. A random enemy debuff can allow for much more flexibility in many situations. Whether it be cripple, slow, amok, weakened, blinded, (terrified isn't too good imo) or vulnerable, each of these can be great when fighting certain enemies. Amok when you're fighting a group, Cripple when trying to kite slow enemies, Slow when fighting strong hitting enemies, Blinded is just great in general like you said, and then Weakened and Vulnerable are just good for damage/defense. Although you have a looot more experience than I do, so I might be over valuing this item

Corruption is S my guy(Triple damage/minons plus with the warlock build you can teleport and have your minions make more minions) as is Frost(You slow and damage enemies as well as being able to turn the meat into carpachio) and Transfutions is apsolutly an F if that tier was here(Happy to see fellow SPD enthusist)
I think corruption is criminally underated. Not only does it get better at corrupting enemies with upgrades, but it also lengthens the amount of time the debuffs last. Because debuffs hit stronger enemies harder than weaker enemies, wand of corruption becomes very strong late game, when most other wands' linear damage scaling starts falling off

imo the wand is fine and pretty fun, but if you invest a lot into it you can run into issues where you need a second way to deal damage which can spread your upgrades thin, and relying on corrupted minions to clear floors can be a pain. It synergizes well with warlock for applying a bunch of debuffs, and its pretty good at +0 as an opener to just apply a debuff before fighting something
@Drspangleipo imo battlemage is better with corruption. The ability to amok targets you hit is really powerful. Also,you do not have to spread upgrades thin if your wand is also your weapon
For battle mage wand of corruption is really good
You may have hard time till cave floor but after that it'll be a breez
What I like to do is get a plus one plate armor and reforg it to plus 3 and use two upgrade scrolls to make it 5. After that I use all my arkane styli to get potential glimpse. Then I choose empowered wand, shielding and artifact recharge as traits. You can never die after that and you can amok every enemies. I spend the rest of the scrolls for wand upgrade

I used to just find a wand of corruption and then corpse dust to summon an endless army of wraiths for me
Most of the time, i didn't use fire blast at all, i know the damage and aoe are nice but so many times it ended up burning up scrolls behind tall grass i couldn't see, it's annoying me to see that.
Transfusion is a fun one, i have a few runs where i got one from the wandmaker while also lucky to obtain the dried rose. It was the most enjoyable run as i was able to gather good items to make the ghost overpowered. It's so funny to see the ghost 1v1 boss on his own, just need occasional healing from wand from time to time.

I think the wand of frost is a little underrated. Well, of course, if it’s not upgraded enough, then it’s really trash. Well, at least it works great on a mage, it can also form a build for a gladiator and a huntress (although you can use a cheaper alternative for them, such as a bolas) I think it deserves to be in B tier, considering that even the more situational wand of warding is in A tier.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the wand of frost also works very well with the monk, since she can recharge the wands with meditation and just spam the frost wand, freezing the enemy well even if the wand is low level
I love the wand of prismatic light. It had helped me obtain doom slayer badge. I struggle to position well in the demon halls, wand of prismatic light basically covered that weakness of mine and I was able to win easily.

my bias: I don't usually level wands, maybe a level or two for a utility. I appreciate wands for utility first, & guarunteed ranged damage. I don't really get mage. I just stick to physical damage. I don't like the thought of not having a heavy implement to fall back on.

more controlled than the wand of fireblast, which I appreciate, with the same utility. the penetration damage bonus can be very helpful if you plan around it. still, the destruction of doors & such can be a detriment

for the clever ones. more useful the more you think to use it. satisfying for destroying multiple wraiths in one after desecrating a tomb. my personal favourite utility is blowing piranhas right out of the water. I understand why they don't let you rocket jump off of walls, but that would be really fun. good for making distance too. op if you just need to get a foe out of the level & there's a chasm
corrosion - s
high damage, over time means it ticks up even as you use other means of attack, & less risk to the hero too if you need to keep behind cover. it's only weakness is piranhas, which is a bit annoying but I guess I don't really need the meat
warding - b
I will grant that it's cool to stack up damage in preparation, & be able to do moves in the following melee. unfortunately, not a huge fan of the thing myself. I prefer damage on demand
frost - s-
great utility, which is what I care about. save all your potions of frost, & good for the fire elementals & the fresh elemental. I do miss the op old version of chilled though. aesthetically peak. obviously not good sustained damage, though if you have another wand or two it's definitely good supplemental damage. used to be my favourite wand, but probably not worth upgrading more than maybe +1 in its current state, you'll hardly ever use more than a few charges at a time. the good thing is you get all you need from it at unupgraded

it has fair use. but it isn't what I want. in many ways it serves a similar way to the wand of living earth

its extra charge is appreciated, it's very easy to just keep blasting. admittedly having lower damage & more uses usually just means using more turns, but I like it. its wand empowerment ability can be quite cool, but when you get to have many wands, you probably won't get all your charges out. it does mean you can situationally double or triple your upgrade scrolls' worth. worth investing in if you have a few wands you fancy
lightning - s
my current favourite. it does mean damage, stunning, even shocking stopping power. that's all

Now do the tiers with the staff version of the wands for battlemage
I run huntress too much to like the wand of fire blast. I like sneak attacks using the bow, and the grass that fireblast burns down is most of how I do that. I prefer blast wave, because it just takes out a bit of grass, and adds more space for me to fire arrows.
Corruption + corpse dust is a game winner no matter what; Living earth is surprisingly tanky to me but takes forever to kill something with the statue
And for the classes, you can use the wands with great chances of success:Mage(obviously) /monk (just watch the recent videos of cake)
Free runner(you can go with a wand because you can run away from melee combat )

The fire wand is powerful and neat to cook meat and destroy walls, but I hate the risk of burning scrolls or herbs. It also doesn't work well on water, and if you're not careful you'll burn yourself unless you have a sulphur glyph. So I'd rather put it in A or B. Though I'll confess I've never tried upgrading it much. I imagine it must be very powerful against the king.
It also cripples and paralyzes at high upgrades.

@@lucasbrelivet5238 I think so yeah, it doesn't take too many upgrades for it to start crippling but I don't know exactly.
One follow-up question I have is how would you change the tier list for 6 challenge runs or even 9 challenges? I think prismatic light goes up a lot in value if you're running into darkness, for example. And of course regrowth goes way down in value with barren lands...
I think the heavy damage wands stay on S, and that's why transfusion got bumped up higher because the shield saved me a ton on my last 9 challenge attempt. The lower wands perhaps would all be non touchables. Prismatic blind would be more clutch yeah.
@@runningfromcake Prismatic isn't just useful for blind (on high challenges), though it is amazing for that. Prismatic is also a light source which can help you see a lot further than a torch in big rooms! Every upgrade into a prismatic wand gives it 5 more turns of light duration, so a highly upgraded one can light up a room for a long time

Empuje: muy util para mover enemigos y tirarlos de barrancos, también se puede usar en medio para escapar de un encuentro.
Rayo: muy util si esta buffeada, hace muchísimo daño
B tier:
Hielo: hace más daño que el baston comun
Comun: Puede buffear otras varitas
C tier:
Luz: puede cegar a enemigos que ataquen a distancia
Fuego: suena muy piola pero es extremadamente caotica y NUNCA la usaras salvo con jefes
D: transfusión (no necesita explicaciones)

i'd really like an explanation of all the wand's "evolutions, so to speak
eg i have found some wands that have fundamental changes as they level up,
eg regrowth sparklies, earth armor sprouts a golem, wards gain health, light can blind, etc
but it seems like some of the wands can do things that are fundamentally unpridictable at higher levels,
A nice thing about fireblast is it cripples and paralyzes at higher levels.
I mostly agree but I would put fire in A tier, too many downsides and living earth in C tear, It's fine but not as useful as prismatic light or as damaging as lightning.
It's cool that every item in this game has some utility. Even the F tear wands can make a build in the right context.
regrowth is so good especially on rogue. I went assassin build and had a +1 regrowth wand plus the armor enchant that makes you invis when you walk on a plant. On assassin, it's BROKEN. then I lucked out on floor 19 and got an axe with blooming enchant lol perma invis.. Plus I had a +10 book, +10 chalice, and +10 horn of plenty. That run was stupid easy. I had 3 challenges on for that run

Magic missiles is very op if u have a lot of wand i once found 4 wands in one run and 1 wand of fireblast from my last run skeletal remains and it was very fun cuz i can use whatever wand when i need the most

The Wand of Overgrowth is the best. The only character i beat the game with is the Warden. Max level wand, max boots, alchemy kit and Camo-armor is best build.

I never know what to use my upgrade scrolls on. Rings? Weapon? Wands? Armor? I always end up spreading them out and nothing ever excels. I usually die in the later levels and have only finished the game once in all the years playing
any of the high damage wands, T5 weapons or plate armor are good. If you can get +6 T5 weapon and +6 plate armor you are usually pretty well off.

If putting the corruption wand in the bottom tier without a second thought was rage-bait, I'm falling for that so hard right now. I can admit, if you've got a fistful of low-level wands in your pack the corruption wand is the worst of them. Have you never done a corrupting battlemage run? You spoke so fondly of the "tower defense mode", the way a fully committed corruption run changes the gameplay is on a whole different level. You're no longer just another hapless adventurer fighting against the odds to save the world. You're the next wave of evil sweeping through the land, usurping all the power you can grasp and destroying the rest. Look up a seed for it if you have to, it is an insanely fun run.
That's exactly right, I haven't done a corruption battlemage run, it's on top of my list to try. My experience is corruption wand has been mediocre, but from the comments I see it's worth giving another try.
The self-damage on lightning is pretty annoying, but at +1/+5 per upgrade and 5-10 base damage, the damage speaks for itself. Also, clearing out trap rooms for exp and items have never been easier. Just my 2 cents.
Corruption is the best warlock wand in the game by a good margin. It basically turns off the bosses and the Wild Magic skill giving amok status is a life-saver in Demon Halls.

give it a shot! it's really fun once you get used to it, remember you can recharge the wards from anywhere on the map, it flies through the walls and heals them up.

@@runningfromcake I like the cold wand for slowing down + for above-average damage, although at the same price and for a couple of shots (only on the magician it means), and on others it is a good wand, but others are better
Wand of Fireblast is Goated but if it's your only damage source burning fist will hard counter you, also you put Lightning in low A but Fireblast is also bad in melee not only can it set you on fire it has a blindspot in melee distance
Wand of warding is goated with the Huntress imo

Also i miss the time corruption wand used to be stupidly op vs wraith. Until dev nerfed it, making the entire strategy around it and corpse dust become trash. Still miss that one zap to corrupt wraith

I used the corruption wand to get the oacifist achievement. Then, i got robbed and lost my phone with all of my progress. Now i don't have that achievement😅
I improved my wand and evolution in the wand that makes it grow I lost a good wand by setting fire to the grass 😢
It’s easy to get over confident or just lazy and loose even a great run. I had an amazing ring of wealth dried rose run going. Then I forgot the ghost had my good armor and weapon equipped and I got swarmed by the dwarf king’s minions.

I had the wand of regrowth as a rogue and constantly used it on hordes of enemies because it instantly cut off line of sight, not the best in boss fights though

Wands of corruption should at least be better just because of impending doom and all of the other effects it can give by the way impending doom gives 85% damage increase the like for the people attacking the enemy it never goes away until the enemy dies
the real necromancer build doesn't deserve a D
I find that build to be a bit gimmicky, it's fun to try a few times.

I have transmute higher because just the other day it saved me in a 9 challenge run, or else yeah it'd probably be lower, and I get bored with the necromancy run but it seems like a lot of people like corruption and frost so I'll have to give them a second look.

I feel like there's 2 ways of looking at this...a tier list of wands for a mage that will staff imbue and drop SoUs on it, and wands for other classes that will not spend SoUs on it. It feels like this tier list is more mage oriented. Or I don't understand the game at all lol
yeah, most comments that say corruption wand is S tier are talking about battlemage. This is from the perspective of a run with any character and finding a random wand and thinking, hmm is this good to use all my upgrades on, or not.
@@runningfromcake If you are out of ideas for content, I would like to see a generic tier list for glyphs and another for enchantments too and maybe a third video with the best combos of the two, or videos for each classes/subclass with best (let's say...) 3 items to find in each slot...for example: sharpshooting ring would likely be in huntress top 3 rings, but ring of haste would likely be present in almost every top 3 rings for any class/subclass perhaps...idk

I got a ring of wealth, should i use your build or i should spend my upgrades on wands(I'm playing mage)
If u are willing to spend your time to farm a ton of health potions then ring of wealth. But I would not recommend as mage though, you might miss your attacks(when you run out of charges) and lose a lot of health that way.
I run warden most often and wealth is a great drop for me. Just a couple upgrades and you get way more potions and scrolls, it goes great with the unstable spellbook. Filling it completely goes way faster atleast.
if you haven't done a ring of wealth farm before I recommend trying it at least once, it's pretty fun.

Of course, if you use it alone. It will work better if you try using it with other powerful wands like the flame wand.

This tier list is okay, and granted most tier lists are opinion based. But man why would he put transfusion on A tier while at the same time putting prismatic light on B and corruption on D.
I was a bit bias at the time towards transfusion because it just saved me on a 9 challenge run.
Strongly disagree with the corruption wand. This wand is the only way for most classes to apply useful debuffs, especially early-mid game, the zombie part i see as just a bonus. You praise the shield from transfusion, but weakening a strong enemy will make you lose even less hp compared to using a transfusion wand. Yes, it is not as reliable, but it is always useful, so i see it at least on the same level as the wand of transfusion
