I see a lot of comments about how I rated certain weapons low on the tier list despite them having aspects to them that are really strong (shield is good with a busted alterattack weapon, boom anchor alterattack gives a ton of s, etc) I should reiterate that this tier list isn't just going over how strong the weapon is. Yes the shield is really OP when you pair it with a weapon like the Sirocco that has an insane alterattack, I am aware of that. The point of the tier list is comparing several aspects of the weapon, which include the weapon's overall strength but also the *feel* of the weapon. The Boom Anchor might have good s and damage on the alter, but it doesn't *feel good* to use whatsoever when compared to a Beatbolt. The shield is a weird one when talking about its strength because it's as strong as whatever primary weapon you have to crank out alterattacks, but it isn't really fun to use and sucks when your primary weapon isn't strong. I would like to make it extremely clear that the purpose of this video was to give feedback to the devs and talk about many aspects of the weapons, including their overall strength but also feel and fun factor, which is why some of them are rated lower on the list despite them having a niche build that can make them OP like the Shield.
idk, the boomanchor alterattack is nuts (it probably has the most i-frames of any alterattack as well as pretty incredible damage on the final hit) and the charged hit is super easy to abuse and essentially cheese enemies with since you can stack multiple puddles. it only sucks to get alterattacks for your other weapon but everytime i've picked up the anchor i've won.
Fantastic list! I agree with most of this except, like many others, I LOVE the Anchor Boom. I can't wait to see what new interesting weapons they add and if they can save the Goo Brush from obscurity.
I thought the katar hold attack was broken too, then I realized it doesn't work when you hold a direction at the same time! Try doing it while keeping analogue neutral. Still feels weird and like an unintended bug though.
it actually does work if you hold a direction while using it but it's inconsistent. i've had plenty of times where im not holding a direction and it still doesn't work. i'm glad it was mentioned in this video because that was pissing me off
I agree with your weapon placement if you are going off of weapons being mainhanded, but I feel like you could make a more nuanced list for weapons that are alot stronger because of alter attacks. Its part of the reason I think the game is flawed, why would I use anything other than the fish blade/boomerang primary with a beatbolt/eyeblade secondary.
@@idkwatimdoingtbh I think making a weapon synergies video would be cool, i find the beatbolt and anchor boom pair very well with both the fish knife and the heavy blade because of the fast alter attack turn around, high damage and i-frames in the case of the anchor boom
Honestly, thats just player preference though. My fav combos at cataclysmic are "(Main hand) Beatbolt/(Offhand) Sirocco or Heavy Blade" or "(Main hand) boomerang/(Offhand) Beatbolt or Ravenblade". Depends on if I'm feeling ranged or up close with the "Alterattack Rush". There are plenty of weapon combos that feel really good. For me, I hate using fish blade or eyeblade, the I-frames are just not good enough for my playstyle.
You can obviously go fish blade/boomerang primary for quick alter attacks but I don't think the game is flawed at all because of that. I have a personnal preference for beatbolt + sirocco because of the feel, but if I don't have them there are so much option as powerful as this, or better as a "support" item to quickly set up a full 30 stacks of bleed/burn/curse on ennemies (like telepikes AA, boomerang AA, sirocco AA...), or better for a large amount of ennemis like gifts spots or trials (eyeblade, kunais, sirocco). Also, the charged blade is suuuuuper good for the 4th biome since you instantly kills ennemis when pushed from the edges. Shield makes you unkillable if used correctly, it's best in a team comp if you plan on being the tank. It all balances out !
I hope so too, I really love this game and I made this tier list purely for fun and to give feedback to the devs. Even though I might sound a bit negative on some of the lower tiered weapons, it's purely constructive criticism and not meant to be mean. I'm hoping they'll understand that.
Great list. For boomerang I would add that it could spawn scythes on alter as boomerang and pike alter are not distinct enough (but please keep the feel of boomerang attack and just replace the pike alter) and it could enable some fun scythe builds, also the base attack could use some dmg ram mechanic like "deals more for dmg each second" that could be fun. For boomanchor while I love it's alter it would be nice if the hold attack burn could scale well with levels to enable burn builds
You can keep the attack Chain going with the Raven Blade after dashes, but you have to instantly press the Attack Button, which is silly because the Katars or the Heavy Blade can wait way longer. It should work the Same way, needs more Time To Input the combo
I LOVE THE SHIELD, COMBINE THE SHIELD IF IT HAS A FREEZE EFFECT AND THE BOOM ANCHOR OR BEATBOLT. YOU WILL THANK ME LATER FOR THE EXTREMELY GOOD DEFENSE. THE REST IS JUST ON YOU
I agree with most of the weapon placements, except for the telepike and anchor. I generally have no issues dishing out crazy damage with both of them given correct positioning and all, but I do agree on the fact that the telepike still needs a damage buff because it's a melee weapon. Goo brush is definitely the worst and it just feels sad to play
The reason why the Beatbolt is such a good weapon is because it's very dodgey weapon aside from its decent damage you can pretty much pair it with any other weapons and if the Beatbolt have a life steal bonus on it combine with Recovery perk you're pretty much unkillable, just keep dodge and shoot.
I really appreciate the work that you put into this list, I agree on some picks here like the Pike, Goo Brush, Fish Knife and some others. But I have to say it feels more like a list of your personal preferences than an actual tier list that takes everything in consideration. Which is nothing wrong by any means, but there are a different playstyles and just because a weapon does not fit in one playstyle does not mean it's bad. I think it is a little unfair to say that a weapon does not feel good. Just because it is not your style or it does not fit how you want to play it does not mean that other people can't go ham with weapons that you don't like. Some weapons get stronger than others when paired with the right gifts or played in different ways. Like for example the boomerang with alter attack spam, or Eye Blade with Dash Cancel /Focus. Some of my personal favorites: Sirocco: (I used this one as Main Hand for most runs till I reached Cataclysmic Difficulty) Like you said with the "Heavy Blade" you can dash and continue your attack chain with dashes in between the attacks. And you can stay far away from the enemies pretty much the whole time, so you can manuver yourself always in good positions for the last hit of the attack chain, which can be also cancelled into an alter attack that should save you from hits in case an enemy gets to close. (Try Blast/Brutality and you do not even need an off hand... pretty bonkers) Boom Anchor: Even before they "buffed" the weapon I thought it was more than just good. It is actually my prefered off hand weapon to this day, not just because it's damage can be heavily increaed by a couple of gifts. What I really like about it is the long time you have I-Frames on it's alter attack which let's you simply face tank cruicial hits without taking damage. And you can move the separate hits of the alter attack which is great at stages with multiple smaller enemies or in speed/kill challenges. Eye Blade: I agree on most things here, but when you play the Eye Blade with dashing, so pretty much "Attack-Dash" into "Attack-Dash" into "Dual Hit Attack-Dash" into "Alter Attack" it feels pretty good. It is a lot of work, but this kind of playstyle makes the weapon viable cause the hits have big hit boxes and are all easily cancellable. That's it from me. Have a good one.
I've been playing this game for less than 24 hours, and the Shield can be pretty broken in CoOp. Even bosses are subject to the Provoke debuff, forcing them to focus on you while your teammates can just wail on them with near impunity. The Telepike is actually fun, and it feels fine to me because it requires skill to use properly, but what it needs is stun, stagger, or a DOT debuff to reward you for actually getting consistent crits.
@@SnowblindOtter I don't play a lot of co-op so I can't speak much there, but what I will say is that out of my few friends that do play, neither of them actually enjoy the shield even in co-op, so regardless of strength it definitely still needs some tuning for the fun factor. As for the Pike, the gimmick isn't too bad but it does criminally low damage even when critting and the AA has no s, so it's another case of a weapon *feeling* terrible. The shield feels bad, but the Pike has the issue of feeling bad *and* being weak.
one way i can see them reworking the goo brush is to RIP from splatoon how inkbrushes work and just let you run and paint with the brush by holding down the button. maybe even hide a mechanic that makes the goo painted down in this fashion last significantly longer out of combat for the sake of silly funny ingame doodles.
Anchor boom is my favorite weapon, I will pick it up even if it doesn't fit my build. I feel about anchor boom the way you feel about beatbolt. I think the fact it's access to alter attack can be chained through dodges is cool, I think it's cannon move is fun, but needs timing against bigger guys. I am newer, only cleared this games version of 0 bc, but I like it a lot. I think it's better than the beatbolt, which is probably a hot take. I love the beatbolt, I just personally like anchorboom more
Finally completed the game last night. Had lvl 6 fish knife and lvl 5 anchor. Found a lot of enemies in the final biome resisted the anchors attacks, including the charged fireball!. If I hadn't upgraded attack speed to like 60% I don't feel I would have been successful as my secondary was pretty much useless and the fish knife was just spammed into oblivion as a result.
Here after the ravenblade changes the jump attack and wow it feels so clunky now… the jump attack used to come out so quickly and you could use it to dodge attacks but now there’s such a windup that you can’t use it to dodge attacks so honestly I would drop it a tier
Beatbolt and Sirocco got me VERY far during my first runs. Just needed 3 shots and the Alterattack for a lot of damage + burning. I got to deal insane damage for the biomes I was into, yet I died at Incubator because of my inexperience there. (Plus some mini boss attacks deal 150+ damage.)
I mostly agree with this list. I will say the Sirocco is completely broken if you can get any way to apply burn, and if you can get some of other burn gifts, it does the most dmg ive seen so far in this game. I also agree the pike sucks for basic attacks but i love having that with boomerang and getting the alt chains to do a massive spin to win build. Add some status effects and the dmg is so yummy.
I agree with some takes and disagree with others. I think the biggest thing to think about is weapons are obviously meant to be paired together. And also by design some weapons rely on the gifts to make them work.
@5:30 -ish you mentioned the third attack in the staff. I have a question about this, I've noticed times where I got off the third and tried to dash asap and I didn't trigger the alter combo for some reason. Are there frames before which if you dash you don't trigger the alters on other weapons too (or even just one frame)? Or is the staff different in that aspect, cuz then it would need to be buffed there as well if they're buffing the third attack speed imo. Great vid btw.
You have to dodge when the alter-symbol appears, and then there's a grace period in which you can use that alter. The staff needs to shoot 3 pellets (?) for the symbol to appear, or something close to that. It's slow and unreliable, the third attack definitely needs to be faster. That said, it is strong as a secondary. Burn synergy makes all hits criticals, which can pair with trinket-reduction gifts for spamming bombs and shit.
imo fish blade can be bottom of super good tier. it has insane alt atk proc speed which allows me to abuse s of alt atk. i can stun lock enemies with heavy blade is quite cool sometimes.
boomerang + charged blade is super cheesy for everything but boss fights. You can basically push everything of the map indefinately. For elites it can take forever but basically all you do is boomerang + call back + charged blade alterattack. At least the first 3 biomes can be cheesed hard with it. (actually it works for the inkubator as well, but becomes really slow as enemys have lots more hp)
I have to heavy disagree with the shield it's an amazing weapon to counter block and swapp attack right after can carry HELLA loads especially when in combination with a good second gear it's ludicrous
My reason for not liking it is the fact that it's only as good as the other weapon you have. If you don't have a busted alterattack weapon in your mainhand slot, the shield really isn't adding anything to your loadout. There's several really good weapons in the game that unfortunately don't have great alterattacks, so you have to specifically fish for a weapon with a good alter (which is admittedly not that hard to do), but I just wish the weapon did more on its own.
@@idkwatimdoingtbh the shield mimics smash ultimate principle: shield is garanteed as long as you hold the button and parry is a bet you make by releasing it I like it better since it's more predictable and works well with the dash-out-of-everything but it can take some time to get used to esp if you're familiar with dead cells's as @verlenddumm7765 said it's cool if you want to play counter-offensive but I 100% agree on the fact that it needs another purpose and offensive attacks !
The anchor bowmanger while appear very weak in single, i think it strong and underrated in coop because of how easily it is accessing to stunlock on it alt attack, the weapon stun pretty much everything except boss stage fight
That's true, I forgot to mention that it has a lot of stagger on the autos. I can definitely see it getting more value in co-op where your friends can make up the lack of damage on the weapon while you give them the CC they need to get the damage off freely.
@@idkwatimdoingtbh yea, honesty if we going purely flame build then i see the anchor win just over the staff because on pretty much everything except stage boss it so easily to proc the flame with alt attack ,the only problem is that when finally on stage boss you need other weapon that specialize in strong alt attack only making it weaker than the staff
I agree that Boom anchor has a nasty attack and finishing series of blows. I also really didn't like his alternative attack. But I fell in love with the hold attack. Only with it in the build for gradual fire damage I took the 3 cell to easy. (+15 stacks, + duration of burning, + attacks and effects apply burning, + attacks and effects apply curses, + slime bomb + magnetic bomb) I have never had an easier fourth floor. You create an area, pull the enemy there and wait until he burns to the ground 😈
It sounds like a lot but definitely doable with the way the game actively tries to drop fire related gifts if you have fire in your kit. I might give that build a try myself, because I do actually want to like the anchor despite where I ranked it on the list.

So you can chose weapon and effects or trinkets and effects) 4) Blast or blast on crit(hold attack is crit) 5) Blast goo for 3s with cd 6s 6) Goo duration x2 With this set, you can always keep the enemy on burning ground :) You dont need any dmg or crit boost. Our chose is hp. May be +% to gold or refil trinkets
So I genuinely suck at this game and have only reached the final boss once but by far the most consistent runs I have is using the shield paired with a main weapon with a great alterattack especially against headbanger it’s a game changer
Yeah my favourite pairing with the shield is either the Sirocco or the Eye Blade. I just wish it did more on its own. The shield is really only as good as the weapon in your mainhand slot, and even then it still feels like it could be doing more.
im curious your thoughts on the new ravenblade, in the notes they said they slowed down the hold charge a bit. but its delayed... a LOT lol, i think it's crap now
Yeah hard agree on the Ravenblade nerf basically butchering the weapon. Again, the point of the tier list was for devs to take feedback and try to make all the weapons feel good and fun, not for them to nerf the fun out of the weapons. What the Ravenblade needed was crits to happen after the 3rd attack in the combo and for the combo chain to be kept after dashing, not nerfs. The jump attack was pretty much the only thing making it a viable primary weapon. Now it's basically locked in alterattack jail.
Melee does get some defensive options like the guardian fish and good s on certain alterattacks (Heavy Blade also gets that extremely good stagger damage), but I kind of agree that melee as a whole could use some buffs. In Dead Cells we had shields to go with melee builds. Hopefully the devs will give the players more reason to rock melee builds over the OP ranged options like Boomerang.
Weapons have an Alterattack damage upgrade depending on which one, such as the charge blade being insanely high, and boomerang has no alterattack damage boosts. Its incredibly overrated in my opinion as doing 2 small swings and one charge swing of the charge blade takes no time at all, and then your first alter starts at +130% and every next one is +180% and 230%. Boomerang sadly only gives +0%, +50% and +100%, despite giving alter attacks really fast its not that good.
bro what level are you? I could solo fight it with anchor and you said that is the worst weapon? this thing just delay everything to make you have tons of invincible time... while waiting your OP fish or Trinket to finish cooldown.. I could just keep spamming it,.. or even better if you get double alterations

@@GHSTDEEJ yea and i finished lvl 3 / was it stormy ? with crazy build... everything with crystalization so you can crystalize weak enemy and then crystalize give 2% damage everytime for entire expedition ( i got like 320% is DAMAGE BUFF) and then 8 shield per crystalization +around 300 shield but then got destroyed on bosses) then almost in the end of journey i got midas (% damage based on your money) but i throw the balance (% damage based on Extra HP) cause i only have 6 slots but that slot is for the MINION and BOSS Drop random boost (i had around 400 ish HP if i could have balancer then more extra damage... BTW FOR PROOF I HAVE IT ALL SCREENSHOTS! using boomerang shuriken lvl 1 but the damage is so crazy that i only use 1 lvl 4 anchor boom and bait the alteration with shuriken throw it before every fight 2x then the third one dont press triangle go for the enemy pull back your shuriken then press the alteration and you have lvl 3 instantly that damage was like around 3k for anchor boom alone and he said thats the worst weapon LOL!... I SOLO play it 3 times with team its hard because they dont play with builds and worse if they died it become sudden death
Not at the moment but I'm considering it in the future if my channel does well. For now tho, mainly expect more videos on roguelites and the Digimon TCG since that's what I mostly play.
the invincibility frames on the sirroco is crazy, glave primary sirroco secondary is the "I won't move" build, alterattacks are core to the gameplay and have high importance when pondering the value of these weapons my guy, glaive is even stronger than beatbolt, you can chain alternate while moving and always doing red crits, pair that with any damage buff (echo, focus, brutality), its just as easy to focus abilities increases solely on crit damage.
The katars are trully terrible, specially when u escalate atk speed their charged stk to teleport tends to not trigger cuz they don't detect the charged due to the speed Also, i love the shield, i managed to beat the factory boss with the shield and the beat crack in no time, u can negate almost 100% dmg from the robot (just not the aoe turrets) and gives a lot of room for alters
@idkwatimdoingtbh yep, also i finally beated the warriors in the incubator about 10 min ago using the heavy sword + shield, bleed aura + robopet, protector fish and dmg scythe build, boss melted almost instantly with the damn scythes, is utterly broken imo
Crazy that you put shield in stinky cuz even though its very bland, its very cheesy, just stand there in a corner and wait for an attack and you basically cant die in any single fight. I think its personally overpowered cuz its very cheesy and makes every fight a joke
Yeah the shield is definitely strong, but take a look at the comment I left pinned on the video and that should explain why it's there. I'm definitely not taking the shield's strength into account, there's no denying that it's insane when you pair it with a Sirocco.
fish sword is no way same as raven fish is amazing so fast ez to go alter attack and i think this game without alter attack is nightmare so for bosses alter attack is everything and fish sword is great for that only
Honestly i dont think they should buff weapons damage or nerf them for that matter at all, i'm all down for Quality of life changes, but you gotta remember this is intended as a roguelike, if every weapon is just super good, theres not really any variance in a run that much, the idea and we saw this in deadcells too, is you have crappy weapons that will make some runs hard work, but then you have super op weapons that make runs easy, its just the variety that matters

Getting parries with the shield feels satisfying. Especially when you can combo parry enemy attacks and get a 500% Alterattack buff with it :3

The telepike can come with an affix that gives you an alter attack after the teleport. If you get one with that affix it's completely broken.

Boom anker with boomerang is my best build to finish the run, the alter attack of the boomanker is so powerful, one of myfavorite

Like you said with the "Heavy Blade" you can dash and continue your attack chain with dashes in between the attacks. And you can stay far away from the enemies pretty much the whole time, so you can manuver yourself always in good positions for the last hit of the attack chain, which can be also cancelled into an alter attack that should save you from hits in case an enemy gets to close.
(Try Blast/Brutality and you do not even need an off hand... pretty bonkers)
Boom Anchor:
Even before they "buffed" the weapon I thought it was more than just good.
It is actually my prefered off hand weapon to this day, not just because it's damage can be heavily increaed by a couple of gifts. What I really like about it is the long time you have I-Frames on it's alter attack which let's you simply face tank cruicial hits without taking damage.
And you can move the separate hits of the alter attack which is great at stages with multiple smaller enemies or in speed/kill challenges.
Eye Blade:
I agree on most things here, but when you play the Eye Blade with dashing, so pretty much "Attack-Dash" into "Attack-Dash" into "Dual Hit Attack-Dash" into "Alter Attack" it feels pretty good. It is a lot of work, but this kind of playstyle makes the weapon viable cause the hits have big hit boxes and are all easily cancellable.

I've been playing this game for less than 24 hours, and the Shield can be pretty broken in CoOp. Even bosses are subject to the Provoke debuff, forcing them to focus on you while your teammates can just wail on them with near impunity.
The Telepike is actually fun, and it feels fine to me because it requires skill to use properly, but what it needs is stun, stagger, or a DOT debuff to reward you for actually getting consistent crits.
@@SnowblindOtter I don't play a lot of co-op so I can't speak much there, but what I will say is that out of my few friends that do play, neither of them actually enjoy the shield even in co-op, so regardless of strength it definitely still needs some tuning for the fun factor.
As for the Pike, the gimmick isn't too bad but it does criminally low damage even when critting and the AA has no s, so it's another case of a weapon *feeling* terrible. The shield feels bad, but the Pike has the issue of feeling bad *and* being weak.
the anchor boom alterattack is a nuke and you're damage immune for the whole animation.
one way i can see them reworking the goo brush is to RIP from splatoon how inkbrushes work and just let you run and paint with the brush by holding down the button. maybe even hide a mechanic that makes the goo painted down in this fashion last significantly longer out of combat for the sake of silly funny ingame doodles.
Anchor boom is my favorite weapon, I will pick it up even if it doesn't fit my build. I feel about anchor boom the way you feel about beatbolt. I think the fact it's access to alter attack can be chained through dodges is cool, I think it's cannon move is fun, but needs timing against bigger guys. I am newer, only cleared this games version of 0 bc, but I like it a lot. I think it's better than the beatbolt, which is probably a hot take. I love the beatbolt, I just personally like anchorboom more
Finally completed the game last night. Had lvl 6 fish knife and lvl 5 anchor. Found a lot of enemies in the final biome resisted the anchors attacks, including the charged fireball!.
If I hadn't upgraded attack speed to like 60% I don't feel I would have been successful as my secondary was pretty much useless and the fish knife was just spammed into oblivion as a result.
Here after the ravenblade changes the jump attack and wow it feels so clunky now… the jump attack used to come out so quickly and you could use it to dodge attacks but now there’s such a windup that you can’t use it to dodge attacks so honestly I would drop it a tier
Beatbolt and Sirocco got me VERY far during my first runs. Just needed 3 shots and the Alterattack for a lot of damage + burning. I got to deal insane damage for the biomes I was into, yet I died at Incubator because of my inexperience there. (Plus some mini boss attacks deal 150+ damage.)

I just got a full run completion. I think the Sirocco is really OP in combination with the crossbow. Specially when you have the right trinkets
I mostly agree with this list. I will say the Sirocco is completely broken if you can get any way to apply burn, and if you can get some of other burn gifts, it does the most dmg ive seen so far in this game.
I also agree the pike sucks for basic attacks but i love having that with boomerang and getting the alt chains to do a massive spin to win build. Add some status effects and the dmg is so yummy.
I agree with some takes and disagree with others. I think the biggest thing to think about is weapons are obviously meant to be paired together. And also by design some weapons rely on the gifts to make them work.
@5:30 -ish you mentioned the third attack in the staff. I have a question about this, I've noticed times where I got off the third and tried to dash asap and I didn't trigger the alter combo for some reason. Are there frames before which if you dash you don't trigger the alters on other weapons too (or even just one frame)? Or is the staff different in that aspect, cuz then it would need to be buffed there as well if they're buffing the third attack speed imo. Great vid btw.
You have to dodge when the alter-symbol appears, and then there's a grace period in which you can use that alter.
The staff needs to shoot 3 pellets (?) for the symbol to appear, or something close to that. It's slow and unreliable, the third attack definitely needs to be faster.
That said, it is strong as a secondary. Burn synergy makes all hits criticals, which can pair with trinket-reduction gifts for spamming bombs and shit.

The Beatbolt is actually one of my least favorite weapons. And the Goo Brush is up top.

imo fish blade can be bottom of super good tier. it has insane alt atk proc speed which allows me to abuse s of alt atk. i can stun lock enemies with heavy blade is quite cool sometimes.
hard agree after the changes they made to it earlier today to make the alterattack feel smoother
boomerang + charged blade is super cheesy for everything but boss fights. You can basically push everything of the map indefinately. For elites it can take forever but basically all you do is boomerang + call back + charged blade alterattack. At least the first 3 biomes can be cheesed hard with it. (actually it works for the inkubator as well, but becomes really slow as enemys have lots more hp)
Shield is absolutely bonkers. Paired with crossbow is the easiest win of my life. Just block every attack and alter attack for huge damage.
Enemies tend to get a bit buggy if you spam shield too much, you can go a good 5 seconds before they do anything 😂
Did cata difficulty with Shield and the Raven sword, Block/Parry Alterattack, combined with the HP leech and i-frames you're basically unkillable.
I have to heavy disagree with the shield it's an amazing weapon to counter block and swapp attack right after can carry HELLA loads especially when in combination with a good second gear it's ludicrous
My reason for not liking it is the fact that it's only as good as the other weapon you have. If you don't have a busted alterattack weapon in your mainhand slot, the shield really isn't adding anything to your loadout. There's several really good weapons in the game that unfortunately don't have great alterattacks, so you have to specifically fish for a weapon with a good alter (which is admittedly not that hard to do), but I just wish the weapon did more on its own.
@@idkwatimdoingtbh the shield mimics smash ultimate principle: shield is garanteed as long as you hold the button and parry is a bet you make by releasing it
I like it better since it's more predictable and works well with the dash-out-of-everything but it can take some time to get used to esp if you're familiar with dead cells's
as @verlenddumm7765 said it's cool if you want to play counter-offensive but I 100% agree on the fact that it needs another purpose and offensive attacks !
The anchor bowmanger while appear very weak in single, i think it strong and underrated in coop because of how easily it is accessing to stunlock on it alt attack, the weapon stun pretty much everything except boss stage fight
That's true, I forgot to mention that it has a lot of stagger on the autos. I can definitely see it getting more value in co-op where your friends can make up the lack of damage on the weapon while you give them the CC they need to get the damage off freely.
@@idkwatimdoingtbh yea, honesty if we going purely flame build then i see the anchor win just over the staff because on pretty much everything except stage boss it so easily to proc the flame with alt attack ,the only problem is that when finally on stage boss you need other weapon that specialize in strong alt attack only making it weaker than the staff
I agree that Boom anchor has a nasty attack and finishing series of blows. I also really didn't like his alternative attack. But I fell in love with the hold attack. Only with it in the build for gradual fire damage I took the 3 cell to easy. (+15 stacks, + duration of burning, + attacks and effects apply burning, + attacks and effects apply curses, + slime bomb + magnetic bomb) I have never had an easier fourth floor. You create an area, pull the enemy there and wait until he burns to the ground 😈
It sounds like a lot but definitely doable with the way the game actively tries to drop fire related gifts if you have fire in your kit. I might give that build a try myself, because I do actually want to like the anchor despite where I ranked it on the list.

1) +15 stacks
2) Burning duration
3) Any effects apply burning( important exactly "effect" because burning ground is effect. So you can chose weapon and effects or trinkets and effects)
4) Blast or blast on crit(hold attack is crit)
5) Blast goo for 3s with cd 6s
6) Goo duration x2
With this set, you can always keep the enemy on burning ground :)
You dont need any dmg or crit boost. Our chose is hp. May be +% to gold or refil trinkets
So I genuinely suck at this game and have only reached the final boss once but by far the most consistent runs I have is using the shield paired with a main weapon with a great alterattack especially against headbanger it’s a game changer
Yeah my favourite pairing with the shield is either the Sirocco or the Eye Blade. I just wish it did more on its own. The shield is really only as good as the weapon in your mainhand slot, and even then it still feels like it could be doing more.
im curious your thoughts on the new ravenblade, in the notes they said they slowed down the hold charge a bit. but its delayed... a LOT lol, i think it's crap now
Yeah hard agree on the Ravenblade nerf basically butchering the weapon. Again, the point of the tier list was for devs to take feedback and try to make all the weapons feel good and fun, not for them to nerf the fun out of the weapons. What the Ravenblade needed was crits to happen after the 3rd attack in the combo and for the combo chain to be kept after dashing, not nerfs.
The jump attack was pretty much the only thing making it a viable primary weapon. Now it's basically locked in alterattack jail.

Ranged in general seems op to me. The staff is weak compared to other raged options because it's so slow but melee needs some defensive options.
Melee does get some defensive options like the guardian fish and good s on certain alterattacks (Heavy Blade also gets that extremely good stagger damage), but I kind of agree that melee as a whole could use some buffs. In Dead Cells we had shields to go with melee builds. Hopefully the devs will give the players more reason to rock melee builds over the OP ranged options like Boomerang.
Weapons have an Alterattack damage upgrade depending on which one, such as the charge blade being insanely high, and boomerang has no alterattack damage boosts. Its incredibly overrated in my opinion as doing 2 small swings and one charge swing of the charge blade takes no time at all, and then your first alter starts at +130% and every next one is +180% and 230%. Boomerang sadly only gives +0%, +50% and +100%, despite giving alter attacks really fast its not that good.

I could solo fight it with anchor and you said that is the worst weapon? this thing just delay everything to make you have tons of invincible time... while waiting your OP fish or Trinket to finish cooldown.. I could just keep spamming it,.. or even better if you get double alterations

@@GHSTDEEJ yea and i finished lvl 3 / was it stormy ? with crazy build... everything with crystalization so you can crystalize weak enemy and then crystalize give 2% damage everytime for entire expedition ( i got like 320% is DAMAGE BUFF) and then 8 shield per crystalization +around 300 shield but then got destroyed on bosses) then almost in the end of journey i got midas (% damage based on your money) but i throw the balance (% damage based on Extra HP) cause i only have 6 slots but that slot is for the MINION and BOSS Drop random boost (i had around 400 ish HP if i could have balancer then more extra damage... BTW FOR PROOF I HAVE IT ALL SCREENSHOTS! using boomerang shuriken lvl 1 but the damage is so crazy that i only use 1 lvl 4 anchor boom and bait the alteration with shuriken throw it before every fight 2x then the third one dont press triangle go for the enemy pull back your shuriken then press the alteration and you have lvl 3 instantly that damage was like around 3k for anchor boom alone and he said thats the worst weapon LOL!... I SOLO play it 3 times with team its hard because they dont play with builds and worse if they died it become sudden death

the invincibility frames on the sirroco is crazy, glave primary sirroco secondary is the "I won't move" build, alterattacks are core to the gameplay and have high importance when pondering the value of these weapons my guy, glaive is even stronger than beatbolt, you can chain alternate while moving and always doing red crits, pair that with any damage buff (echo, focus, brutality), its just as easy to focus abilities increases solely on crit damage.
The katars are trully terrible, specially when u escalate atk speed their charged stk to teleport tends to not trigger cuz they don't detect the charged due to the speed
Also, i love the shield, i managed to beat the factory boss with the shield and the beat crack in no time, u can negate almost 100% dmg from the robot (just not the aoe turrets) and gives a lot of room for alters
i wasn't even aware this was an issue lol, at least they fixed the teleport not happening when you're just walking around
@idkwatimdoingtbh yep, also i finally beated the warriors in the incubator about 10 min ago using the heavy sword + shield, bleed aura + robopet, protector fish and dmg scythe build, boss melted almost instantly with the damn scythes, is utterly broken imo

Crazy that you put shield in stinky cuz even though its very bland, its very cheesy, just stand there in a corner and wait for an attack and you basically cant die in any single fight. I think its personally overpowered cuz its very cheesy and makes every fight a joke
Yeah the shield is definitely strong, but take a look at the comment I left pinned on the video and that should explain why it's there. I'm definitely not taking the shield's strength into account, there's no denying that it's insane when you pair it with a Sirocco.

fish is amazing so fast ez to go alter attack and i think this game without alter attack is nightmare so for bosses alter attack is everything and fish sword is great for that only

It's a lot better after the buffs, I wouldn't say it's a competitor for the worst weapon in the game anymore. That definitely goes to Brush.
Honestly i dont think they should buff weapons damage or nerf them for that matter at all, i'm all down for Quality of life changes, but you gotta remember this is intended as a roguelike, if every weapon is just super good, theres not really any variance in a run that much, the idea and we saw this in deadcells too, is you have crappy weapons that will make some runs hard work, but then you have super op weapons that make runs easy, its just the variety that matters
