KeyUI is probably the most useful on here, the video was worth the watch for that. I tend to play the first 1-2 seasons of an expansion and then take huge breaks. Coming back to the game and trying to figure out wtf my keybinds were before is one of the hardest parts of getting back into the game! This helps!
Glad you like it, happy I was able to hunt for and find this addon. I also put a video in the description showing how to remap the razer naga/mouse binds since some other commentors were having an issue with that, cheers!
@@notSachy Thanks for reminding me of this addon. I'm not sure if KeyUI is a fork of the original but I was using a nearly identical addon back Cataclysm (or maybe it was Wrath). If I recall, it was a part of, or bundled with another addon. It was very helpful for managing keyboard layouts especially as someone that does not use QWERTY and wanted to maximize the efficiency of spell button locations. (I had to modify the addon to draw the keys in the right places.)
Thanks for the suggestions my dude. As someone who has been playing for a very long time, it's not to often that I discover something useful that I haven't already tried.
Loaded almost everyone of them. Not one error! Using BugSack to track... NO problems. Worked with Recount, DBM, Silverdragon, and Titan Panel. Thank you!
Agree that KeyUi sounds amazing. Just downloaded, and I see there is NOW a count for its downloads. Currently at 10.9K. Nice mix of various mods. Thank you!
This helps a ton I have SO MANY quality of life addons. If anyone wants something specific to your map I like to use mapster so I can keep my map open nearly all the time while questing as I'm very directionally challenged and going gaming blind is what I like to call it. One of my mental disorders wants me to look at everything all at once and it effectively makes me blind so having the map there all the time is great. (You can also turn off the fade when moving.)
All of these seem great. You may not use Keyui a lot, but being an altoholic, I can see a lot of use for it, especially with the remix characters coming in, and I have multiple characters in the same class and spec. I could learn different specs, but when I am using the same one, it is easy to switch!
I've been using a great UI addon called SUI for years. It's only gotten better. Lightweight and gives it an immediate improvement. You can select different modes like Dark or Blizzard and all of the plates, actionbars, things of that nature are updated. Also has QOL elements like tooltips, font choices, auto-queue or loot, things of that nature.
Hi, I stumbled upon the video by chance. Thank you for the great content and for recommending my addon KeyUI to others. I’m very proud to be mentioned alongside other fantastic addons. However, I’m always open to feedback and suggestions. Thanks again!

Really many and very helpful add-ons and tips. Thank you very much for the summary. I knew many of them, which I also use myself, but there are two or three addons that I will certainly use permanently in the future (keep windows open, key master and ping sounds). All the best and keep it up. ☺️👍
Definitely like the info you give, the other addon videos ive watched just tell you the name and maybe a clip showing off a tiny bit of it. Blizzmove is exactly what I was looking for, thanks:)
@notSachy looking forward to it, would you consider a video on how to install addons, and which addon manager people should use, I've heard both good and bad things about curse forge and wowup and am still on the fence.
I recommend using WoWUp curseforge version. I've never had any negative experiences with it. the only thing is you might get updates like 5-10 minutes later than the native curse client. but it works when I need it to, and does what its spose to :-) the only thing is wowup doesn't support addons uploaded wago (it's an entirely different client to the curse version so you can't do both) but i have literally never needed an addon that wasn't also in the curse ecosystem. I stopped using curse's clients when they did the overwolf integration because I can't stand having any program install overlays to my games.
Ping sounds... Perfect for my wife. thank you Edit: Oh shit keyui reminds me of MapleStory which is where I learned keybinds. Keybinds have been so difficult to teach new players. This is awesome!!
Another for big monitors where the quest item is too far to click comfortably, get the addon ExtraQuestButton, it adds a new button in the base game edit mode that is just the item for the current tracked quest. You can also bind this new button, make sure to check the box that makes it be separate from the default extra action button. Gonna include this in an upcoming video but sharing so you get value from it sooner maybe
My biggest issue with using ultra niche addons is the high probability they just cease updating it because no one seems to care about it Really sucks to get ingrained with an addon then lose it
Try mapping shift and control to your mouse. It opens up a ton more options for your left hand without having to play finger twister. Putting buffs and cd's out of the way can help. Also using a macro for buffing others can be keybound to the mouse as well, F2 + PI as a single button then target assisting makes it a single keystroke to use Power infusion on the second player in your party list then getting back on target. You really should only need 2 buttons but Blizzard won't let us sort parties with dps in the top 2 slots. 3 if you're healing.
Besides me, you're the only one I've heard that binds keyboard modifiers to their mouse thumb buttons! It's a no-brainer. I personally bind CTRL and ALT to my two thumb buttons, as SHIFT is perfectly accessible. Additionally, I shift my left hand one key to the right (ESDF instead of WASD). Not only do you keep your left hand where it should be on the home row, but you also open up easy-to-press `A` key. Of course, as a vim user, my CAPSLOCK is bound do escape which I also use as a non-standard keybind in WoW.
@@notSachy appreciate it I took a break from dragon flying and when I come back my previous bag addon didn't work when I'm back from holidays I will try bagantor tyvm ggs
KeyUI would have been perfect to try to explain how I have my binds setup. I'm left handed (real leftie, not an ambidextrous leftie) and I use the mouse with my left hand. So almost all of my abilities are bound to the number pad and I move with the arrow keys and right mouse button plus ← → to strafe. Edit: So I checked this addon out and I can't get it to show any of the buttons from my left handed razer naga. I chose the 4x3 layout but it shows all of my binding going to function keys like F1, F2 etc. Which isn't correct. Since the keys on the mouse default to 1,2,3,4 etc, they show up on my number row at the top of the keyboard and not on the mouse. I also use star, minus, plus and decimal on the number pad as part of my keybinds and those don't show up in the addon as being bound to anything. I also have MWU (mouse wheel up) and MWD (mouse wheel down) bound to offensive and defensive cd's but it doesn't show that. M5 is my mount and M4 is a secondary defensive like a health pot, stone or similar and those don't show as bound to anything. Really the only thing it shows is 0-9 on the number pad. It's a cool idea though.
Ok I figured it out, when you have the mouse layout opened. Press unlock, then hover the respective mouse button on the keyUI interface and press it on your mouse as you're doing it, it'll remap to what you have it set to., then enter a name for the layout and click save/lock.
I’m sorry I haven’t made a better or more up-to-date video on how to use my addon, KeyUI. I’ll try to do so in the future. I’m not very experienced with video editing, but I’ve improved the key-binding guidance to make it feel more intuitive.
Does advanced interface options allow you to automatically target your next mob without having to hit tab? It seems like when I’m melee I don’t need to hit tab to continue attacking the next mob, but when I’m a caster I need to tab and select my target for it to be able to cast. I want to be able to just spam frostbolt and when the target dies I continue hitting 2 and it will keep casting frostbolt on a random next target.
There’s a setting in the base game called action targeting or something like that, it’s on the combat page, this gives the functionality you’re looking for I think. You can also have /startattack macrod into a spell or a few spells, this is the same as the old auto attack button which automatically targets the nearest thing in front. Just be careful if you’re a hunter or if you’re a ranged with a wand, you may pull bosses accidentally.
I see your S is still bound to back pedal. Is that because you rank? I’ve recently been tanking but I’ve had S unbound for years and I use it for silence (shift S for stun) Is it that necessary to still have it bound as a tank?
Yea I keep it for a variety of reasons: Sometimes you boss fights like painsmith where you need to keep walking backwards while damaging a mob, sometimes as ranged for spread mechanics like on Razsageth, Neltharion, or Fyrakk it’s nice to be able to tap S to help spread out a bit instead of having to mouse turn the camera and strafe. And yea as tank it’s really the only way to slowly move/move against a suck-in mechanic while still hitting mobs. I found that especially as DH, if I unbound backpedal and strafed instead I would move waaaay too much since the class is very fast. Also I’ve never needed the keybind so it’s been np there too
Great list! /console ActionButtonUseKeyDown 1 was on already for me, so maybe another addon changed it? There wasn't anything in my Config.wtf about it, so it doesn't look like it'd changed. Anyway, thanks!
is there command that change size of combat text ? i used addons but i dont like it, i just want default combat text just a little bit smaller, unless u know addon that can do it...
There is, altho I haven't used it in a while, try: /run CombatText:SetScale(X) change the X to whatever number you want, its a multiplier. so /run CombatText:SetScale(2) will make it double, /run CombatText:SetScale(0.5) will half it etc. might have to reload for changes to take place
Raid management addons like Method Raid Tools, have a raid inspect option that will show you each slot of each person in the raid. But this is by no means a lightweight addon. Not being able to whisper, emote, inspect, among other things, while dead is an intended feature of the base game.
That last one probably isn't used much because keybinds are stored server side. Log in on a new computer, and your keybinds will be the same, no addon needed.
@@notSachy that's so different! Once I hear about it years ago I never looked back. I guess there are two types of wow players :) also I've installed all the addons here and I just have to say, big thank you, soooo good.
I did look into this however I was getting lua errors using demodal and blizz move at the same and demodal didn’t seem to have the window size scaling functionality.
@@CosmoCorban just installed DeModal to test again, the ctrl/shift mousewheel still isn't working (or isn't even a function) to resize with DeModal. If i ctrl-right-click with just Demodal on i get a minor lua error. This is the same issue i was running into a couple days ago, which is why I axe'd demodal from this list and used blizzmove/NAC instead. Ikr? Should use z and x for strafe and unbind w and s. Look at all those extra binds you get! Move forward with mouse clicks.
for keybinds ... its easy you have a mmo mouse so you have 40 buttons on a mouse ...

6:13 it has probably low download count because of DeModal, which does same thing and it is more commonly used.
I did look into this however I was getting lua errors using demodal and blizz move at the same and demodal didn’t seem to have the window size scaling functionality.
Demodal works without blizzmove, thats why you get lua errors.
I remember using ctrl or shift with mouse wheel to change the size of windows
@@CosmoCorban just installed DeModal to test again, the ctrl/shift mousewheel still isn't working (or isn't even a function) to resize with DeModal. If i ctrl-right-click with just Demodal on i get a minor lua error. This is the same issue i was running into a couple days ago, which is why I axe'd demodal from this list and used blizzmove/NAC instead.
I also see quite a few comments under the DeModal curseforge page of people asking for resizing as a feature.

... You play without sound...???? 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
yee, I do turn on game music occasionally tho
Storyline blows the DialogueUI addon away.
No it doesn’t. DialogUI is an improvement on the base style without changing much. Storyline is WAY too RP focused and overdone
MoveAny does what BlizzMove and NoAutoClose do.
I actually typed "/deeznuts" in my chat. Goddamnit!
