Hiya, as a retired chef. After 50yrs in the catering trade, I thought I'd give this video a watch. Food wise, no not that bad, the only thing that made my soul weep🤔? The hacking of the join!!! The right knife for the right job. 🔪🗡️Worth the money to buy&use a good carving knife. Straight blade not searated, keep it sharp. Oh and let the joint rest on a plate covered by foil for about 10 minutes /15 minutes. Maybe I'll drop in for lunch 😊Allan&Family
Fantastic roast dinner, love that she didn't add all the extras the chefs of today put in thier so called modern recipes! Thank you for this great video. I'm really wanting a roast dinner now. It's my 79 birthday today, so guess what I'm having today. 🎉
How wonderful I just ran across your channel and tomorrow which is Sunday in Oklahoma and I just took a beef roast out of the freezer into the refrigerator. Going to use your recipe of beef stock only and a Long slow cook in my Crockpot! Thank you 💛
Absolutely beautiful my eyes about popped out when I saw the yorkys ❤ For over 50 years I’ve always just put 1 or 2 eggs in???? Who knew I needed more🙈🙈 Best thing ever is the slow cooker ❤ So on Sunday it’s RATIO I have the same kids beaker winner winner Sunday dinner 🎉 Also never even thought of popping the left over yorky mix into the grave 😮 Everydays a school day Many thanks x
Delicious Sunday lunch I use the same recipe as you for Yorkshire puddings equal quantities of each ingredient. I am a 90 year old Yorkshire less now in New Zealand and I can remember my mum using a little of the pudding mix to thicken gravy.
Thank you sooo much. I am actually going to locate an Asda this afternoon, again it is not near me, but I want other things too. So…. Thank yiu for replying.x love this dinner too ….mmmm
I buy brisket of beef which is tough and very fatty but I’m also trying to lose weight so I slow cook the beef ,no water or anything for about 4 hours. By that time a lot of the fat has come out and is at the bottom of the slow cooker. I throw the fat away then put the beef back into the slow cooker in gravy for another 3 or so hours. It can be cut with a fork by the time it’s finished, absolutely delish, cheap and healthy. Love your Yorkshire puddings
That beef looked incredible Mand. I was always dubious about buying the beef pot roast - was it going to be tough, fatty, but no, slow cooking it completely tenderised it. A definite must for next Sunday’s roast. Beautiful meal you have cooked ❤️
Lovely home cooked food I love brisket years a go when i was a single parent I was skint one Sunday I had about 50p to get some meat for Sunday dinner I went into the shop on the estate and I was looking round then I looked and spotted brisket and bought some I'd never had it .I did Sunday dinner for me and my lad and it was the tastiest meat I'd ever had I'd warmed it in gravy ice been a big fan of it since but like everything it was the cheapest meat now it's gone dear love fran xxxxx❤❤❤❤❤❤
When I was a child in the 50s and 60s we very rarely had beef at all, but sometimes we would have brisket for Christmas dinner. It was the cheapest - cheaper than stewbeef or mince beef. And it was lovely.
@lat1419 it still is lovely I love it done in the slowcooker with onions carrots and stock icook on high for about 4 hours then take jt out and let it cool and make gravy with flour and butter into a roo then plenty the carrots and onions in the stock and make the gravy it's so do nice I've ibs and can't eat onions but I still get the taste of onions I slice the meat and put inthe gravy to get warm again love fran xxxxx
@francisraffle2948 sounds delicious. I had IBD (ulcerative colitis) that has gone inti remission with carnivore, and as much as I like veg, they don't agree with me at all. I do slow cook large joints of mutton over veg and beer for the flavour, and throw the veg away.
Hiya for years now I’ve been murdering my roasts saw your video and thought I’d give it a go Did 6 hrs slow cook pot roast with stock cubes 2.5 oxo and 500ml water Absolutely Fantastico ! But I put the joint in the cooker for 20mins to crisp it up also have been using less eggs for Yorkshire’s so three in 4 like yours and they were the best ever so thankful for your advice/vlog you’re a legend Thanks you’ve supercharged my Sunday/Christmas roasts for ever! X
Wow those yorkies 😮 look cracking 👏 yummy dinner, and leftover beef and gravy for stovies 👍 ( if you make them they aren’t too wet ) excellent meal there lass ❤️
Oh my word. Mands, your slow-cooked beef Sunday dinner looks absolutely fantastic, so much so that I can almost smell and taste it through my TV. Oh and those Yorkshire Puds... you cannae beat 'em... especially when soaked in gravy. I'm making myself hungry now, lol. I've got to agree with you, Bovril is so much better... I have the Bovril drinking cups and I absolutely love them. There's nothing better when it's a cold day out. I tend to have carrots, mushrooms and broccoli/cauliflower as my veg options with a Sunday dinner. 😊xx
Mand sorry I’ve not been commenting lately I’ve had some big life changes but I’m getting back on track and it was so comforting and cheerful watching you again. I noticed you made a meat pie about a month ago and I’d requested that so thank you! So happy your channel is still growing and I’ll try to start commenting more often again.
Yum. Great. No hassle home cooking😀
Great looking dinner, I'll pop over next Sunday...😜🤣🤣
