Size does not matter! Even the smallest towns in Floida are being considered. In big cities we focus on neighborhoods, such as Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, or Brickell in Miami.

I lived there for 13 months 09/15-10/16. It was lovely but boring as hell. Looks like they've expanded the downtown area. When there was something going on, it was difficult to park. I moved to historic Savannah, Ga...way more to my liking.

WALLS, VERY CLEAN STREETS. MORE THAN A SMALL CITY, IT LOOKS LIKE A RECENT PLANNED COMMUNITY! I DEFINITELY LOVE IT!
Love it in Sarasota...downtown has expanded a lot over the last 5 years. Much more to do. Still a very clean city.

I live in Sarasota since 2005 and it is becoming a big town now, so much construction everywhere. Today January 1, 2020 the weather is beautiful and we just need a light jacket for the morning. The temperature will go up to 81 today...Happy New Year to all who visit this very nice place.

I'm from the UK and visit Sarasota regularly although haven't been able to recently due to Covid but, will be back asap. I love the place...I stay on Lido Key. This video brings back great memories.

I live in Bradenton and work in Sarasota. I’ve seen it change so much over the years it’s really going downhill in my opinion. Unless you’re a millionaire, it’s too expensive.

Not Butters yeah Bradenton is not great, only if you’re rich it’s okay. I am not rich I work at a hotel, so Sarasota is way out of my price range. I also have to leave so early to get to work in the morning bc of the traffic.

As a native to FL I say this on behalf of all Floridians...Please learn how to drive and know where you are going before you get on the road. That being said Im not saying YOU personally are a terrible driver. Floridians have a love hate relationship with tourists. On one hand we'll gladly take your money. On the other...LEARN HOW TO DRIVE. It's a 2D grid system. It's not hard to figure out. And when you see someone speeding past you while you're obliviously driving 10 under the speed limit trying to find that restaurant you saw on instagram, I'm trying to get to work. lol.

You'll change your tune when you find out how expensive it is to live in SRQ. A SMALL 1x1 will run you upwards of 1000$ a month, excluding utilities. And when you are trying to get to work in season but the millions of snowbirds are on the roads lost as fuck driving 15 miles under the speed limit.

I want to visit Sarasota, FL! I’ve heard so many great things about the town. Any recommendations the best cities to live in FL, please reply! I’ve been all over Florida (Naples, Orlando, Boca Raton, Jupiter, etc.) but Sarasota is a top place to visit! I live in Northern VA rn. I grew up in Northern VA and the ppl here are so rude and the weather is bipolar I hate it! I am almost done w/college but after I graduate, I want to live in FL for the rest of my life! Everyone in FL seems so much nicer, happier, and deep down to earth. Yes, Florida might be hot year round, but trust me if you live up north, you’re going to hate the bipolar weather not knowing what to wear everyday and wrapping yourself up in clothes for the winter season. The traffic from snowbirds doesn’t seem as bad as traffic in Northern VA especially since it’s a half hour from DC. The traffic in Northern VA is way worse than FL. Please Pray that I will be able to visit Sarasota, FL and live in the sunshine state of FL for rest of my life! Florida is awesome! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Also comment down below some best recommendations for cities, I really want to know!

I accommodated 4 elderly visitors from Texas earlier this week, and they didn't want to go home today even though power was restored.
The news is everywhere that malls are dead and this video proves they aren't. People just want to drive through them. Main Street looks like a mall from one end to the other. All of the buildings are the same with the same roof. It looks great but it is in the end a mall with traffic in the main concourse. Nicely done Sarasota.

I’ve been to Sarasota I do not recommend it, they have a lot of homeless/drug users walking the streets, more than a handful of redlight cameras, and police that are ready to either write you a ticket or lock you up if they can. The positives are a beautiful beach and pretty good food choices.

Lots of homeless living around downtown. Sarasota Police hassle them most Fridays to clear them out for the downtown weekend nightlife. Pretty crappy way to run a city. Not all unicorns and rainbows here in Sarasota.

This is where the rich live. The rest of Sarasota is much different. Bee Ridge Ave is horrible, too many shacks. No building plan was ever adopted. You are better off living west of 75 with land or go south to North Port, still Sarasota County. Oh, and 75 from Clark Rd to University is always under construction and always a traffic menace.

Saint Augustine is pretty neat and it's not loaded with high-rises, Old Town is a don't miss attraction there.

No, it is 100% an accurate. It isn't a depiction of anything. It isn't like a computer just made this shit up and they edited out traffic to make it seem something like it isn't. There is a person ACTUALLY driving a car in real traffic on video. How you going to say there is MORE traffic than what you are seeing on screen? At that time he was driving, there was in fact NOT so much more traffic.
@Lauren King You can't agree, it isn't an opinion. At the time he filmed this video, this was the traffic. Maybe the traffic is different NOW. But at that time it wasn't. He said it wasn't an accurate depiction of traffic. Quite obviously it is, or you would be seeing something different.

@Lauren King I sadly agree. All of the condos being built is taking away the beauty of this great city. The traffic is a nightmare. I drive back up to visit Sarasota frequently, but am so thankful now that I don't have to deal with this traffic on a daily basis.

I live in the area...I HATE SRQ DT. The traffic is insane with all the lost snowbirds driving 10 miles under the speed limit. And I HATE that UGLY as fuck statue of "the kiss". That thing is so fucking ugly and ruins the view into the marina. DT SRQ is a fucking nightmare when all the tourists come down.
A few years ago some OLD woman ran into that statue and toppled it. The thing was removed for something like 6 months for repairs. I wish it never came back. It's SO ugly and tacky.
The only good thing about DT SRQ was The Quay, but that was torn down like a decade ago.

Yeah I was gone 10 years and came back fishing again commercial not happy go walk in the waters where I fish that you be knee-deep in muc.
It's even worse. For the last five years Manatee and SRQ beaches have seen HUGE red tide blooms that last for MONTHS.

@@davidtrout540 Last year during a bloom my FRESH water aquarium got that shit. It was SO BAD it must have been in the county water system. I live almost 5 miles away from any beach. Killed everything in my tank before I could do anything about it.

I'm a Florida boy born and raised here. Very disappointed at how my County people and how everybody tried to take care of here but couldn't do it but the government okay doll the building so yeah this is bullcrap.
LOL I don't know how doll got in there. But the government okayed everything to build and does not have no infrastructure to take care of all the new builds. All they did was just mess up our land and mess up my place for and everybody else's place now we got to worry about flesh eating bacteria we got to worry about red tide we got to worry about a whole lot of things that we should not have to.
