- Usually we share the best moments we 'lived through', but it is not always nice and easy. One of my secret spots is codenamed 'the Reef'.
The 'Reef' is a bonecrushing place. Sometimes I feel like it wants to eat me alive... Stomp on me... But that is exactly why I keep going there every now and then :) - Спорт

Yep, I was shocked. I see them once in a while, but when it gets your fish you just freeze. Do I wave my hands? Do I start shouting? Do I laugh about it? Do I turn the camera on and shoot the video? Yes! Video! Video! Oh come oooon, switch oooon!
For newbies like me, It is very important this kind of information. Thanks for your Video. Not only you go, far too deep but you also want to teach people.

Alex, its a Gopro Hero 3+ Black. You have a TX? I was using a TX with my Trygons back in a day... The colours, with some work, were amazing...
Yesterday we were watching with a friend video from his gopro 3+ but the quality and the colours weren't the same with yours. Do not know why ??

Yes, Alex the Oceanborn is a good toy, but I have my own favorites... But it was the first I was using a 115+ gun, the range (event with too bands +8mm) makes you very very comfortable :)

Hey Anvar, another great video man. I'm from South Africa, and we have tons of sharks here, so I know what it's like to lose fish to them. quick question, why don't you dive with a belt reel? Just about everyone here uses them for those times when the line on your gun reel isn't enough.

Yes, SA is a shark spot of our tiny planet...
We see them couple of times per year but usually they are very careful and never approach... You guys are more hardcore in a 'shark feeding' sense :)
Actually, the same evening that the URU was gone - I made this extra reel+belt. I use it every day since then. A great idea!
The problem is that we get used to our 'routines' and rarely question it (unless the shit hits the fan). The gone URU was an eye-opening experience...
i have starter a few years ago, am 40, i train regularly but i go spearfishing or diving once week.
quick question... why not a roller gun on a breakaway rig? no more lost guns.. exceptional power and accuracy. You fight the fish on top of the water.. your float will be waiting for you (hopefully)

I have noticed a lot of sharks in Cyprus compared to other places in the Mediterranean shame our home country of Cyprus is so over fished though

Had to google a c4 Urukay. Its a $775.00 gun. That sucks dude, I hope you dive with a sharper knife now because losing something that expensive must hurt.

wow...i like depth... but i can now achieve 25 safely. i am training during the week in the swimming and spearfish once a week. i Aldo do swimming...i hope to be able to go beyond shortly...

Actually, you are not right Collin.
Its a much more complicated subject then a' not a brain science'.
Breakaway greatly limits your movements on the bottom (we have currents, waves) and you are rarely aware of the plan before you get to the bottom. You might have to make a long aspetto or you might have to follow your prey over a long distance horizontally... Breakaway is great for shallower dives for big fish or diving in the area with a very rich fish population...
as you mentionned it you're not diving in the US Australia or south Africa you are in the mediterranean sea and lots of people have a tendency to think that there are no sharks in this particular sea well they are wrong white sharks were caught into fishnets in southern france italy greece and other places sharks and fishes in general don't have no borders they are at home just about everywhere including the MED nice video

Nobody said that the sharks dont live here, in the Med. I see them 5-10 times per year... BUT they almost never snatch your prey :)
