According to the Cosworth website, they build this engine in different specs, up to 495hp naturally aspirated. Air restrictors change output levels based on class. One hell of a motor!
+Craig U search the Cosworth website, it states Naturally Aspirated in the second line of engine specifications. Not supercharged. The whine you are hearing is from the straight cut gears in the transmission. Search "cosworth 2gr" on Google and it will direct you to their website
I would much rather buy and build a racecar then dish out ~150k euro for a done car. Anyways, I hope I can afford to have a racecar one day and drive it on circuits. Good video, subscribed.
I believe here in the US it's GTE not GTP and I know a team used to run an Evora GTE in the ALMS a few years back. I did a little research and as it turns out there was a GTP class in the ISMA WEC but that was back in the 80's and those cars were more closely related to Group C cars or modern Daytona Prototypes than the current GT classes of cars. I don't want to sound hypercritical I just wanted to point that out.
video reported for being misleading. all he did was cruise around the track! on a good note. did away with the toyota 1.8L engine, and went for a V6 makes sense. better engine, still fits as its smaller length wise
This car would annihilate both round a track and also in a straight line GT3 no chance, probably very close with GTR given very similar hp/w ratios. It's for those people looking for a hardcore racer, not a road car that can sometimes be taken to the track...
I believe it's the regulation. Exige V6 road car being lighter makes no sense. A proper race car should be always lighter than a road car with the same engine if not restricted. And if it IS the regulation, a lot of weight should have got put on the front and that should have given better balance to the car.
All lotus cars should come with the f1 style stickers and paint looks amazing
They allready did! You can get the Evora with F1 style, like the one Ayton Senna drove. :O
***** that's awesome I didn't know that thanks for the info

"It's partly dry and partly wet"
6 words that sum up England perfectly
In the summer. Winter includes snow, wind and ice.
I've only ever seen 2 Evoras in person. Always very impressive, they are so small and low.
Thank god the media have not forgotten about Lotus (I mean today's Lotus) completely.
I've driven this car..... on AssettoCorsa! :)
Mod ?
I still have a soft spot for the old Esprit Turbo :3
sutcliffe is a very very fast driver
So you can buy this and use it for personal track day?
Yes.
imagine this engine going back into a pedestrian toyota camry and have lotus work out the suspension... the ultimate soccer mom machine ^_^
sounds absolutely amazing
I notice whine in a lot of race cars which are not present in the 'standard' production version of the car. Is this transmission whine?
+Quertreiber(QT) I thought it came from the supercharger.
The gearbox sounds at low speeds are on the one side horrible and on the other side so extremely nice! :-)

Supercharged....not NA.

+Craig U The first comment I had stated that the engines we rated for up to 495hp, not necessarily this particular car.
Michael Smith you wouldn't know where one could purchase the cosworth 2gr-fe? I've looked everywhere. even emailed cosworth themselves, no reply
I do not. I believe they discontinued the 2gr evo program, but I'm not positive

You can't really call that "to the limit".. He is cruising...
Why not left foot braking?
this car is my dream
Never heard of a 264/64/18 Front tire?? 0:51
Racing tyres are measured differently. I think the sidewalls are in mm while for road tyres it's percentage.
Huh, good to know--the rear tires seemed to have 'normal' dimensions.
Couldn't hear anything he said. Love the sound of the car!
I'm gonna drive this Car now on the Nordschleife..............in Raceroom ;D
1200kg is still pretty high... I would have thought it would be lower...
that supercharger whine tho
It does not have a sc, it's the straight cut gears in the tranny ;)

It sounds so lovely
Can I have it?
Idk why but it sounds like a Gtr to me maybe cuz the transmission is similar
Please be a tasty driver.

The evora's always had a v6...
much cheaper than the aston GT4... probably faster too
Not exactly a pretty car is it? I think the exige is where I'd buy in.
it is WTCC, not WTC.
mate it is a wtc speck gearbox out of a world touring car not a wtcc speck gear box , out of a championship
"Economy", i couldn't care less on a racecar...
WTC car?? Shouldn't it be WTCC??
why say championship if you're only talking about the 'car' gearbox.
FIRST???WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
but for that much money you can get something faster like a gt3 or gtr...

Second
Toyota engine lol they will recall that engine in 6 months time.
4.0 L 🤔 ??
3.5 L I think, like Exige ......
1200kg. very very fat.

And I know Exige V6 has rally version and it is also heavier than the road version because of the regulation.
Lovely car.
