Pokimane pretends its misogyny to preserve her fragile ego. What she seems to not be able to accept is that people figured out that her online image is carefully crafted and curated, sort of like a politician, has always been so, and it just took people a while to catch on (i.e. her initial fanbase got older and newer Twitch viewers don't find her interesting compared to other options). Her viewership dropped off massively for a reason, she hasn't been the "queen" of Twitch in a long time (she often just acts like she still is). Anyway, that doesn't mean she was wrong or that she didn't misspeak, it just means that people are going to be MUCH LESS FORGIVING when she makes a mistake like that, because very few people still fall for her curated public image.
Asmon, on the other hand, has always been honest about what a mess he is, and he speaks well off the cuff, and sticks by his opinions even when those opinions are illiberal/"wrong" to have. People identify with him. Almost nobody identifies with Pokimane, and Pokimane has been caught way too many times curating herself and not being her honest self online, and always seeking to have the "correct" opinions - she used to be interesting as one of the few girls in streaming, but by modern streaming content standards she is painfully vanilla and brand-safe (and I mean like "Dove Beauty" brandsafe, not "Gamersupps" brandsafe). If she feels like she has been reduced to a target of "misogynist" ire, she has only herself to blame for over-curating her image, which makes her seem fake and unrelatable. Plenty of women online do not get the level of hate that she gets (normally I would use Maya Higa as an example here until her recent PR nightmare turned a lot of people against her), because plenty of women online are their authentic selves. Weirdly enough, some of those authentic girls online are western vTuber girls - even though many of them hide their faces and real names, they are authentic in personality, which draws a healthier and more relatable/non-objectifying viewership. That said, Asmon gets a sh*t-ton of hate, but he doesn't get to play the misogyny card. Women have a convenient tool to shut down online criticism that widely-hated and frequently-insulted men don't get to deploy at-will. How wonderful for them.

When she found out about his video, she played victim on stream and made her chat go under his video to attack and doxx him. I dont hate her, but i do not understand how someone with her platform and experience on social media she can honestly believe that two people saying the same thing will have the same outcome. You have two very different people, one who is borderline obsessed over their image and how masses perceive them, on the other we have someone who, while not ALWAYS making the 100% best choices as far as brand risks go, they never sell out what they believe in. To their own detriment oftentimes and that of the things they love. (I.e blizzard) So when ONE of them comes out with a take, it isnt just those 144 characters they are being judged on. Its that statement UP against their past actions and overall character. The doubling down of imane to say anyone who is holding her character as a whole against her, is misogynistic, is also just as tone deaf as shes always been to criticism. ARE there people who only hate her because shes a successful and pretty girl, duh. But those same people also hate zack because he dated izzy. He doesnt have a plethora of people that SOLELY hate imane and like him. She cant fathom that even if she says the right thing, it wont come off as authentic. Again, dont hate either of them, but this is the price of shilling out to pointless sponsors and being a basic streamer with a dodgey intrapersonal relationship history. Imanes not a horrible person from what ive seen, but Pokimane "the character" isnt a very likeable human. Asmon is always asmon THATS his brand no matter what so his word carries more weight to it.
One thing to say about Pokimane, is the reason asmon is retiscent about engaging in any kind of squabble with her is that Pokimane has a "litigious" mindset, which doesn't necessarily only extend to litigation, but she has that alinity pre-reform thing, where she is ok with going full psycho down to trying to kill you (or getting as close as she can legally), if you push on her even a little bit. Like there's no kind of sense of proportionate response at all, it's like "if you do even a little bit to me, I will try to end your life". What it is, is, this like enormous amount of self importance, to where it's like she actually thinks of herself as a royal or a queen that you literally cannot touch, speak to, address unless she speaks to you first. It's like totally one way borderline delusional behaviour. Like "I have all the power, you have zero power". Bet she's great fun in relationships, bet she has very stable and like normal and balanced relationships where she totally doesn't try to deny her partner any kind of independence or anything like that lol, or leaves her partner alone (that's irony).
And therefore, you don't want to get into situations where pokimane will feel like you gave her the green light to active the psycho part of her personality.
Then again, the reality of what she's going to do, is just to lie about you on stream, gaslight her chat and pretend that you're saying something when you're not saying that thing, or even just imply that you're saying what you're saying because you have this bad motivation and "what you're really trying to do is to like, hurt women" or something, and intentionally mis-characterize your intention. That can also happen.
Basically pokimane is the type of person to "punish you" for things that aren't a problem by harrassing you, @ing and bothering you when you're chillin, and basically trying to lie about you and misrepresent your intentions. But at the same time, this is very obvious what she's doing, and it can actually back fire on her if she goes too far with it. The funny thing is, it fits very much with her personality type, very self important, thinks she's a queen and everybody is her subject, but unironically. And that if anybody even touches a hair on her head, this justifies like a very insane and unreasonable punishment. "Seize him, guards!" type mentality.
So it is what it is. You should never allow people to have such control over you or like intimidate you via their past unreasonable actions and over-reactions to where you have to not say what you'd say to anybody else in society. In my opinion.
And asmon can like dial back his twitter joke by saying like "hey, no hate, but I just thought this was funny".
Also her point about kick being on AWS is dumb bs that has no bearing on anything, it's stupid. Kick can be on AWS, can be not on AWS, that's not even remotely relevant to the conversation we should be having which is, what is a better platform, how do we move people to kick, what are good policies we want to have on our platforms, probably things like pretty open free speech rules, etc.

I think Pokimane is right in that often times the internet does love to hate on women and give them a hard time, whether they deserve it or not. But I think she might be over her head on this one. Also, Asmon is a weird example to use, since he arguably has as many haters as she does. When I see people talk about Asmon outside of his core audience, it is pretty often negative towards him.
Poki has done this for a decade. *Every* single solitary thing for her has the same answer. Doesn't matter the context, nuance, variables involved... nothing. It's always the same thing to her.
