It's dumb and it takes away from it's legitimate uses. Rage therapy is often integrated with other forms of therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or trauma-focused therapy, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for sexual assault recovery.

anger is such a violent, and toxic masculine trait
But so empowering when women do
purestrain irony
Feminists hate men do much they want to copy all the perceived traits of men - uncontrolled anger, violence, etc. Lol

So incredibly based.
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
People are basically scamming these people into thinking, that feeding the negative aspect of our mind is empowering and a good thing.
Worse is that when these people have a Negtive outburst, they will think they need to have more "Control" negtive outburst to help them release their Anger but it just will make it that they get angry more. It become it own feedback loop.
ah yes because whatever the environment throws at us, we can always filter out the best stuff and feed the right wolf

Do you not have ways to catharsize your emotions? like playing video games, or perhaps a competitive sport or activity? do you not think whatever medium to release your emotions makes you happier once you release those emotions?
@ForgeMakesThings Stop spamming every comment, hole
@@ForgeMakesThings When you release anger your body releases adrenaline & cortisol which is only a short fix that will feel like a good cathartic effect to release however lacks awareness to the process of emotions. Therefore it becomes like a temporary fix but doesn't fix the underlying issue of what's causing your anger in the first place it is always recommended to have compassion & reflection to these emotions.
There has been a lot of experiments even a great video on youtube by vsauces mindfield that shows people that are allowed to release anger continue to be more angry and aggressive after releasing these emotions than those that were allowed to cooldown and reflect in a room for a length of time.
@@ForgeMakesThings If you play a video game to release anger, that's not healthy.
If you play a video game that doesn't make you angry, your anger naturally fades (as do all other emotions that aren't part of the actual game). If you're using a video game or sport as a crutch for emotional regulation, that's not healthy.
Sports help with emotions because physical activity is a natural emotional regulator. You don't get angry playing sports or a video game, you just burn off excess physical or mental energy.

This is actually a unhealthy way of releasing anger and it will in fact make you more prone to anger. Just go for a run or do some other exercise.
Agree, I had a similar experience. During a rought patch in my life, a family member tried to get me to have an angry outburst because he thought it would help me let go of my anger and frustration. It turned out that it made it harder for me to control my anger.
I think these feminist are telling women to do this is just priming them to be more angry with the world and men rather than control it.
Whenever I'm angry or stressed, I either watch something funny, or go for a walk. If you get into the habit of releasing anger physically, it eventually becomes the only way you can release stress. And eventually, you'll release it on people and animals instea of inanimate objects. So don't do it, or you'll turn into a bad person who hits others when they're angry

The act of venting your anger in this way has more serious consequences. Venting anger doesn't actually result in catharsis or relief-instead, it typically reinforces and even worsens anger.
A 1999 study found that venting anger and rage can lead to further feelings of aggressive behavior.
An outdated Sigmund Freud theory on catharsis suggests that anger and aggression must be expressed to reduce feelings of aggression. However, modern research has mostly debunked this theory. Behavioral health experts over the years have found the opposite to be true, stating that venting in an aggressive way can cause a person to become angrier
Venting is a emotion focused coping strategy so it can have some benefits in the fact it bring have some temporary emotional release but it's best if it's coupled with emotional processing and problem solving coping mechanisms in the long run
Freud was nothing more than a degenerate projecting his sickness of everyone else.

They have these things called "punching bags". Not a new concept, you don't need to break ice or sticks. Just get a punching bag. Plus it's amazingly good exercise.
"Hey kids, where's your Mom and why don't we have any ice?"
It's actually quite the oррosite. When you constantly allow yourself to get angry at nothing, you are not "blowing off steam", you actually reduce your overall ability to restrain yourself. When you let yourself be angry, you will get even angrier.
Yeah that's how you end up a hysteric Karen
They will figure it out . Its like the corona .. they have no studies but they are sure they must be right
exactly. i was gonna comment something similar. acting out and doing things like "hitting a pillow" or "throwing something across the room" when angry just reinforces the neural pathways for aggression, it doesn't provide a release. starting with deep breathing and other self control methods is much preferable in the long run. If you do that kind of stuff when you're mad, what happens when you get mad at/near other people...pretty self explanatory but a lot of people don't get it.
@@ce8539 It's always mad = threat and I don't think that's an accurate way to look at it. People often use that as an excuse to overlook or ignore someone who is trying to pressure importance onto them, it's a quick "I'm the victim" statement. Not everyone who has hit their breaking point is all of the sudden a physical danger to you.
I've met people that are great at holding their composure, but who they are as a person and what they do is malicious.
I've met people who can't let things go period, but they'll never hurt a fly out of frustration - you'll just know that they are - That's more honest and less snaky imo... The world is changing.

Biggest red flag i ever saw.

The biggest red flag I noticed is when a woman is American
Yet some people still wish to put their 🌭 in it
I remember not too long ago a few studies that had finished on the topic of "venting rage" and other related theories. They basically all boiled down to "smashing things, punching/kicking, screaming, and even fighting, in order to release anger doesn't reduce feelings of anger or rage and actually lessens ability to manage anger compared to the control groups who were subjected to the same anger-triggers but made to sit in silence or calmly meditate (depending on the study)"
So all these women are doing are reinforcing their minds to resort to anger more quickly to release it rather than control, analyze, and dissipate it. Those studies also showed men in the control groups had further reduced symptoms of anger than the women, despite both doing nothing to vent. They theorized that the men in the control group, by western standards, have had to hold in emotions more often by social standards and thus had a better handle on anger mitigation in calm silence.
Vsauce did one himself, if I remember correctly, inspired by the results of some of them
This reminds me of that scene from She Hulk
Rage Cages are slowly becoming an industry. Catharsis by the hour.
Its not societal thing that made men more calm and in control of their anger. Men are just born with better capacity for controlling anger than women can as they are more emotionally prone to express emotions more than men. Men are more reserved in letting anger control them or allow anger to make bad decisions for them because they experience and see that anger leads to violence with other people when they let it out. So men are more careful in deciding to not get involved with violence because they let their anger control them. Women on the other hand are more likely express their emotions and anger, releasing it iregardless of consequences of it.
It can be good for you if done very sparingly with good self awareness, like once in many years sparingly, especially if it’s constructive like something that needs breaking anyway.
The 2 minute hate.
In psychology we learned that your body and brain adapt to how you release stress and addict you to the habit of how you release stress. If you play videogames, bite your nails, smoke cigarettes, sex, or being violent.
Releasing stress through violence just makes you a more violent person. "Letting out all your anger", just makes you a more angry person.
Alternative methods include, going hiking, cooking, cleaning, volunteering to help others, exercising; you get the point.
You know, there are more productive ways to release anger, this ain't one of them.

Yeah, in the real world they call this letting your emotions control you.
I mean, letting go of your anger will definitely make you a happier person, but this is not the way
Who said that ruining others people day, don't make them happy.
Dr K made a video about this, where he talks about how venting for the sake of it serves no purpose if you're not doing anything about the feelings themselves and could also make things worse, which sounds kinda similar to what these people are doing. I would say that these people are basically training to feel comfortable with venting their rage in agressive, violent ways, thats all I see here.
In my experience what you allow into your mental diet becomes the norm. If you are calm most of the time then you become better at being calm. And if you're angry most of the time you become better than being angry. While its important to acknowledge and work through your feelings, that doesn't mean they should control you. And there are many ways to vent anger that are not actually violent. Because you're venting the ENERGY, not the anger. Ironically, meditation and yoga and exercise would all be good and fairly healthy ways to vent that negative energy. But, that's the issue, HEALTHY. The modern generations are like "yall had some unhealthy habits growing up, now its a competition, mine will be worse....BET."
Ironically, there have been studies that show when people give in to emotions they are more likely to give in to those emotions in the future, while those who practice self-control and discipline become more likely to overcome emotions.
Yup..a recipe for hot temper🤣
I’d already assumed that but is there any evidence this behaviour has any positive effects or is it just a case of instant vs delayed gratification?
@@burntgrahamcracker2866 Helps with dealing with trauma and bottled-up anger. It's cathartic, when not used for clout or something.
I can see that, for example, going to therapy or talking things through with a friend is healthier than this. But just "practicing self-control and discipline" sounds like suppressing emotions, which I think is worse than letting out the anger (although doing it in a group is a bit weird).
And for every statement you can think of, there's a scientific paper that supports that statement being true. Some internet user saying "there have been studies" without providing sources is basically worthless. And even if a source is provided, I could probably dig up science papers that says that letting out anger is better.
There are also scientific papers saying that eggs are healthy, and other ones saying eggs are unhealthy, for example.
@@burntgrahamcracker2866 It's actually rewarding your brain for doing aggresive behavior. Your brain gets the dopamine from being aggresive so your emotions could get more difficult to control in the future. It's not healthy to let emotions constantly get this intense.

If being a mother makes you this angry, then please put your kids up for adoption. They deserve a better family.

@@winzyl9546 Quite the opposite actually.
The dangerous part about anger, is that it's addictive. The worst that could happen if you often train yourself to "just let go", is that you'll eventually get to that point where your body would look for it. You'd suddenly want your release over innocuous and petty things. And you'd let your emotions take the wheel more often. Only to realize you're actively harming people(and pets) around you, physically and emotionally. There's a reason a rageaholic is a thing, and why there's such thing as anger management counseling and therapy.
I totally agree. I previously had anger issues and I found myself wanting to be angry more than being happy. I worked over it by learning how to properly vent out my angers by using breathing exercises and letting out anger in more healthier ways. I went into a rage room once and I fully realized that I really liked being angry which is completely unhealthy. I loved the feeling of it. I still get angry every now and then, the temper is not completely gone but I realized that wanting to be angry all the time is not healthy for my mind.
this is my friend abso-fking-ly true there are papers published and researched that proves this 😂
Also it is easier to go rage mode if you practice it just like it is easier to let of anger if you practice it.
These are some wise thoughts
I remember there's a service that provide a room so someone could destroy it.
Its really unhealthy
"While venting anger is often seen as a way to effectively relief feelings of frustration and stress, research has actually found that blowing off steam through physical acts of aggression and violence makes your anger worse. Simply put, it's not a healthy way to deal with difficult emotions."
Venting is a good way of dealing with traumatic experiences in the past. The problem with allowing yourself to become angry is that it makes you more likely to be angry more often as you start seeing it as a more normal emotion to have on a day to day basis. You should not be angry everyday. You may vent your emotions to people verbally but this makes it physical, and if you do nothing about it afterwards it becomes a bigger problem. What you should do is use these negative emotions as a motivator to fix why you feel these negative emotions in the first place, rather than vent the negative emotions, as this causes you to lose the biggest motivator you have, your negative emotions.
Back then you put a pair of boxing gloves and hit the punching bag to let out your steam.

@@ForgeMakesThings Assuming her kid isn't deaf, they can definitely hear her. Why do you think it's likely that the kid is not in the house with the mother? She said she's a new mom which means she's most likely still breastfeeding. It's more likely that the child is still in the house than not.
I saw my dad do this a lot, but he was a mechanic...
Anger is normal, this much anger is ridiculous.
If men did this it would be toxic masculinity, men aren't safe etc, but here I bet it says something profound about women in society, not their own inability to deal with emotions
Its always someone elses fault...
Eh, compared to the anger we are capable of, this is mild. Most of the yelling/screams are rather weak, the collateral damage is effectively nonexistent and the violence is toned down.
Most of these seem to be like attempts at fury from people who've never seen how far anger can really go.
There is no such thing as toxic masculinity, just toxic people.

Breaking things makes you feel better for a lot of people and why would women be no different. The problem is there are places for this and why record yourself looking like a fool
there are actually studies that prove that when you let your anger surface like that you end up more work out and angrier at the situation, so the thing isn't simply rage like a freaking animal but resolve the issue that cause you anger and put yourself out of those situations when they overwhelm you.
That woman is a new mom with that much anger? Good luck little kid; you're gonna need it.
Bro, this is the Two-minutes hate straight from Orwell's 1984 and it scares me
Most of the things described in 1984 and Brave New World already happened.
Get a grip
And Orwell probably didn't just completely make it up but knew about a similar (harmful) practice before putting it in his novel.

Exactly, read the comments who claim this is a good thing and some of them even argue men could do this too meanwhile we have historical proof if men doing something like this it will be called dangerous and/or toxic.
it was indeed done, but later on those allegations where null out
Saw a clip just last week of a girl recording her dad from afar punching one of those janky sliding doors with the fly-sheet (something that is notorious for breaking).
There was no context at all but the number of people who jumped into the comments writing "wow, you cannot tell me he doesn't beat his family" and "how toxic". Dude wasn't even aware his family could see him. He was also literally trying to get out of the house - like god forbid a male have a bad day and takes it out on his own inanimate objects - then he's a wife-beater. But when women on tiktok do it, it's empowering.
i have moments of frustration in my life but i very rarely get actually angry, everybody has buttons that can be pushed to make them angry, im no exception but how you handle it makes a difference.
i used to have anger issues until about a decade ago, i learned you dont need to hold anger in, you dont need to contain it or focus it on anything, you can just let whatever made you angry go. when you can do that anger becomes brief and manageable, most of the time sitting stewing on your anger is a waste of time and energy.
Also during a custody battle this video can probably revote your rights to your kid by law
Disappointed that there was no clip at the end of Asmon beating his forehead against the desk.

Feeding anger does not help to overcome it, when you forget what makes you angry then you are free.

Iirc, there's been studies asserting both "releasing" anger and "bottling it up" tend to increase chances of actual violent outbursts. The healthy outlet is to do something about the source of the anger

You know what's funny, when a certain demographic had hobbies that were to relieve stress it was called toxic.
Having recreational hobbies to releave stress in a quiet and safe manner: bad and immature
Screaming and breaking stuff like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum: good and empowering

people used to do this in the privacy of their own home, now its a public spectacle because we allow it to be.
Having anger like this is a direct reflection of focusing on what you want (selfishness) and not getting it. When you put others first (family) and their needs you wont react like this (a child) and be a self centered person.
