He's right. Ideally this would be ok for a very small job (like 3 feet or less) because once you have to shake down the remaining goop, the look of your bead is going to take a hit. And, it seems like there is barely enough to do a tub; shaking down the last of the caulk to finish the job might be a headache. It also starts to harden very fast, so correcting mistakes post-application becomes complicated.
Saw this in the store and thought "ohh, this is just what I am looking for", but it turned out to be difficult to maneuver, just as you say. There is no real flow control, neither static thumb pressure nor adaptive thumb pressure made the flow even, either a lump, perfectly smooth or a gap. It also seems to be designed to apply a MUCH thicker layer of silicone than what I would like, I ended up trying to smooth out the application with a finger, which removed 90% of the applied silicone and made a better result overall. Honestly it seems that a regular silicone gun is preferable, just as you say in the video.
I tried it I agree I persevered and searched reviews as I was wondering was it just me. Pretty messy but it did the job it just took me a long time to clean it up, water soluble got me questioning how flexible would it be? It’s more like caulk
Very helpful information ..thanks a lot. I bought this type of Lepage sealant couple months ago ...tried to use it in my bath tub today and didn't work for me --terrible, had a hard time with it ...same thing as what you explained on this video ...I'd be buying a caulking gun then ...
Thanks for this. I think you just saved me a big headache. I bought it and was about to use it. Selling the condo next week. Going to just get out the caulking gun. Thanks very much.
This is the worst product you can get! Extremely hard to squeeze and it looked horrible! Unfortunately I couldn't get my money back because I waited too long before I tried. Great review!
Caulking is an art and not science. The “auto-smoothing applicator” in the bottle is a complete disaster. Once open, is a complete waste of product. I highly do not recommend this product to anyone; unless you like a sloppy job and won’t mind the mess left behind!
just used this, it is not bad at all if you are using it for small jobs like it is designed for, go over it twice if you need to shake it back down, the tool makes it easy
@@patdud1979 Thank you so much , i bought it at Walmart and honestly ive never had any other item be so wrong as advertised. I will return this for a refund.

Thank you! I’m happy I decided to look first!
Your welcome

Makes sense! You need a caulking gun not a squeeze tube. Redoing caulking is a nasty enough job as it is!
Thanks, this was helpful. We will not use the tube we bought.

Glad you like the video 🤙
Yes, because you use it wrong. Works perfectly for my bath.

Great review!
Thx I appreciate it. And I wanted to inform as much people as possible 👍
@@patdud1979 Thanks for doing it. I wish I'd seen this before I bought that crap.
Can you apply regular silicone over old silicone?
Worked just fine for me :-)
I just bought the loctite renew, which I'm sure it's the same thing. 4 weeks later, how's it holding up??
@@taylarogers313 still white and in place
What on earth you are doing. I applied and works perfectly. You got outdated or you're just clumsy.
Agreed, it was a disaster…what a MESS!!
I bought it, I used it, I liked it

100% I wish I saw this before I used this tube of garbage
Sorry to hear that.
Terrible product. Thanks for your video. Thought it was just me. Wasted my money!
I think it would have been useful to film while you were using the product.
Take my word on this it’s garbage!!!
Beyond terrible. Easy to apply it says but it won't come out. 😅
Thats not helpful seeing i already bought it
You can always return it saying it is defective 🤷♂️ but the only instructions I can give for garbage is to put it in the garage!!! LOL
