To me, it seems like Gene Wood was almost always happy whenever he did the intros for "Family Feud!" He was (and still is) one of the best announcers ever!
I'm sayin', yikes that was wild! no wonder he was the actor cast as the p-e-do on Different Strokes, he played Mr. Horton who owed the bike shop. Episode is on YT.
Definitely creepy. I hated Gordon Jump after this show. And I mean this FF episode. Different Strokes episode too. But I thought "oh. It's in the script". This one? 🤢
I loved The Love Boat and still do; but it seemed like they had lousy luck when they appeared on Family Feud. They managed to win a game against "Eight is Enough" but they came up short in the Fast Money round, and then they lost to "Three's Company."
This episode appeared on The Best of All Star Family Feud DVD. It has another 1979 All Star Family Feud ABC Primetime Special with the stars of One Day at a Time, Benson, Dallas, and Eight is Enough.
I think because Ray Combs literally never asked or just assumed they would play instead of pass. Strange, because you say it is surprising yet strategic.
