Do we have to do the current leakage test every time we carried out the test or only sometimes when requested, in my current job we only do the A test which is visual, earth continuity and insulation Thank you 🙏
I have just done my training today and he has failed to do the most basic thing, DOING THE VISUAL BEFORE PLUGGING IN THE DEVICE TO PAT Tester. Visual inspection must be done at the start and as a very basic step. If it fails the visual test, I will not be proceeding with any of the other tests at all. In case if there was a damage to the plug or wire/cable/lead, the person conducting the test or anyone who uses the device or in this case Iron, can get electrocuted. Sequence is the key!
Jay Jay test the lead and the appliance as two separate items. However if the appliance can be run from a battery then it wont need to be tested and only the lead will
If it's all plastic with no exposed metal parts you need to carry out an insulation resistance test. But make notes to why the earth continuity test wasnt carried out.
For 3phase equipment like 4plats cooking range we can use same PAT for test?

what if the product is all plastic and has no conductive exposed parts?
Fat Harold then its probably a class II item

It's a class 1, put the probe on the metal toaster frame where you put the bread in. That's how you test a plastic toaster mate.

How do you test when the plate is ceramic and no visible bare metal
