It’s probably because they placed no value on their placement in barbershop competition. I imagine they felt no need to put their gold medals on display because it had nothing to do with their identity as a quartet.
They're so good but I've been in that situation where no matter what you do it's so funny and you can't help but laugh. Plus they're so good the only reason it sounds bad is because they cannot stop laughing but as soon as they are serious it's immediately perfect. Oh lame the ending wasn't even that funny hahaha
