If this business bought those backlinks from some shady SMM offer, what happens. Google eventually drops their SEO rating even more (they are currently on page 3 for priority keywords), nothing happens, temp boost in traffic but no quality leads? What happens when a biz buys backlinks? Thank you
Nice to Meet you SAM OH! I’m your big fan in Korea. I saw all the keyword research tutorial you uploaded through translation. There are so many playlists there that I'm a little confused. Can you tell me in which order it's good to look at the playlist? Thank you always for your videos! Thank you!
There's no real order to view them. I guess it depends on where you are in your SEO/marketing journey. But assuming you're a complete beginner, then you should probably start with this video: ua-cam.com/video/OMJQPqG2Uas/v-deo.html - SQ
Yes, Ahrefs is a paid tool. If you have a relatively small site and want to do a backlink analysis on your own links, you can use Google Search Console, which is free. Here's a video about how to use Google Search Console (ua-cam.com/video/FXVEb_eklhk/v-deo.html). If you want to analyze competitors' backlinks for free, you can use our free backlink checker, which will show you the top 100 backlinks for a domain or URL - ahrefs.com/backlink-checker -Sam
When looking at buying a site and doing a backlink audit is there a quick rule of thumb and a simple method for checking backlink quality that you can get done fast before the site sells? What is a bad percentage of irrelevant/ toxic links? Thanks a lot!
No general rule of thumb actually. I wouldn't worry about "toxic backlinks" - John Mueller said not to get hung up over them. Google is probably good enough at discovering these. -Helen
Hello Sam, I have seen your video, You give amazing information every time. I have learnt many things from you. But Sam One Request, I have seen a term TF & IDF. Can you tell me what is this? And how it is relevant about blogging post. IF this is very important then why anyone tell this thing ever while teaching SEO.
No need for an overly-technical TF-IDF analysis or even the addition of so-called “LSI keywords.” Just focus on search intent, take a unique angle, engage your readers right off the bat, and attract links to your post. It’s certainly not easy by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, it requires a lot of work. But pull it off, and you’ll receive passive traffic to your blog month after month. - Max
I don't have have the "recent" and "historical" data. I imagine it has either been removed since 2018, or is only available on the more expensive plans. I have the $100 one.
@@AhrefsCom hi Helen, thank you for your kind reply. Actually I am referring to the recent and historical boxes Sam points out at 1:21. They are absent in my version. There is a drop down box elsewhere on the page that offers them but they are greyed out. If they are available in higher plans, it might be a good idea to indicate that on the greyed out boxes to incentivise users to upgrade.
Hello Ahref, i try to follow all your video. I have smth that blocks me to open my SEO Company alone in France. I can handle SEO on a Wordpress or simple HTML / CSS website. But i'm scared that client have a technologies website i could not understand. How to deal with that ? Do you do the SEO changes on your client Website or you expect him to do it alone ? In my mind if he pays me to upgrade the SEO on his website i think he will expect me to do the corrections myself.. What do you think about it ? :/
So if my competitor has paid for a sidebar ad on a website that has a DR rank of 30 and is getting 8,956 do follow links, should I also put an ad on this page to increase my DR?

Hi Sam! Great stuff! Quick question, I have a keyword that I am trying to rank for but there is a site on top that is using shady methods to rank. They must be a SEO comapny of some sort, because they seem to be getting backlinks from random local places in a single city in canada. But when yuo see the backlinks, they are hiding backlinks on their client's websites jsut to steal juice. that doesn't seem ethical to me, is there anything a legit person trying to outrank them can do?
Tough to say without seeing the reports myself. If they are using shady tactics, as you believe, they will eventually (most likely) get slapped by G. White hat SEO is a long play, but it's the one that's going to continue to return dividends. We have a cool link building video coming up in a week or so, so stay tuned for that :) Lots of golden strategies/tactics in there!
yes but how some websites have 3000 to 5000 backlinks and just 30 to 40 referring domains for a blog post? and they rank higher in google than who have 50 to 60 backlinks and 30 to 40 referring domains?
Is there any good ratio to maintain between referring domains vs backlinks I mean should I take one back link from 1 domains or can I get Thousands or 100k wouldn't it look spammy
I wouldn't say there's a "standard ratio" to maintain. In general, getting backlinks from unique referring domains will provide more value than second or third link from a previous linking website. So aiming for more unique referring domains may be a better direction to go.
sir, I am trying to select a particular niche. when I type in google on a particular niche basis. Google shows all top ten high domain authority websites in the United States. when I am decided to change in long-tail keyword its shows also a high domain authority site.but keyword difficulty low. I mean to say that when I am going to search at a low competitive basis keyword. its shows high domain top ten websites. but keyword difficulty ar very low. so at this moment how I can choose my niche, sir?I can not make a website on this topic
I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to say here. As in you're concerned that the domains ranking for your intended niche are high-DR, even though it shows low KD? - SQ
Great content but if it just showed the charts it would be easier to follow along. There's no real reason for imagery of anything but the graphs and figures.
For the most part, these people are playing the short game. It's up to you if you want to fight back with the same tactics or play the longer game that's sustainable. I'd vote for the latter. -Sam
