Every mistake your talented students make is absolutely indispensable for us in learning this rare and valuable system. My Coach wants me to abandon the whole style because of having made the exact same mistake that Sophie made in this video!
I think I understand a little. He's teaching her to not be afraid of applying pressure and to be more aggressive when the other person panics and moves back?
Less about being afraid and more about taking the opportunity to cover ground. She's moving back which is natural to her pendulum step, but she's also creating more distance because her and her opponent are moving backwards. She should be shortening the distance but pressing forward (eithet with aggression or non aggressive pressure) She is the one punching and then moving back. Which he is telling her not to do.
@@GhilenPeekdefinitely, the whole fight is in that distance where you can hit but also get hit. If you effectively cover that distance by setting up with a faint, footwork etc, it’s counter productive to give up that position you took.
Great teacher and solid point he's making, especially for boxers with shorter reach. Don't give up that hard earned ground. I'm not 100% sure but souldn't the boxer with the longer reach not mind creating more distance as he's at an advantage outside of range?
Does this channel have a russian version that I can watch with english sub titles? Im learning russian and want to listen while gaining some listening experience.
The pendulum seems to be directly applicable to kickboxing but not so much to Thai boxing, at least directly. There are extra considerations for things like head movement in kickboxing versus boxing but there is still much to glean from this channel's videos. Like for example this discussion of ringsmanship!
@@warrenkener I agree, I’ve been doing Muay Thai for about a year now. You want to have a more squared stance due to leg kicks and many other strikes. I think I can use many of the punching techniques and some of the footwork, but unfortunately you have to be careful using the pendulum bounce which is a big part of it, mainly because the legs will be destroyed by leg kicks
Id say its better on the offensive. Using it defensively will get your leg taken away. You just want to be weary about the leg kicks. Since youre usually on your toes its somewhat easier to move away from leg kicks. I find to take more leg kicks when not bouncing. Im nothing crazy though so my advice might be invalid
I use it, but I narrow my stance. Mostly useful against a taller fighter while just outside kicking range to close distance fast without needing to use a full blitz. I use it to bait something out, like a teep, and follow the miss in. Everything is going to have plusses and minuses but you can use it effectively in specific scenarios. Just my 2 cents 🤷♂️
But At He Should Have Clarified That It Depends On The Kinda Tactics Or Style You Fight If I'm A Boxer (Jab And Move/Stick And Move) I Have To Run After My Punch And If I'm A Slugger/Swarmer (Bully Tactics) Then I Don't Have To Run After My Punches

Maybe, I think someone like Thomas Hearns and his flicker jab is good at long to mid range, I could be wrong though
Brilliant
Great, is there an online course?
Could the Trainer record a more detailed discussion of the Pendulum jump?
There are multiple videos. You find them on his channel.
