Great video!… I would like to add a note to people is if there's anyway you can avoid it don't use plastic… Glass is the best thing for many many reasons, but the main thing is it doesn't leach toxins into your lotion
I was doing a lot of video comparison and yours was the simplest to make. So I made some, with some modifications....I used one less Tsp of glycerin, no essential oils, I added two ice cube of natural aloe vera, and one tsp of argon oil and replaced the vegetable oil for jojoba oil. I'm a ups driver and the southern California sun really dries up my skin. Instead of using commercial body lotion, I wanted to try something natural.. and your DIY body lotion really protects my skin!!....THANK YOU!!
Your skin looks beautiful. Thanks for the natural diy recipe. I have skin disorders and can't use alot of really perfume or highly chemical products. This looks like its more cost effective then buying the store bought plastic bottles each time. I love how simple it is to make. I definitely will try this.
Great video but just a few tips in my opinion you might want to buy a glass blender because the blade is heating up the product and some chemicals from the plastic may transfer over time along with any sents and glass is easier to clean also hand stir the essential oils and vitimin e so the heat from the blade of blender won't distroy the oil preservatives properties of the vitamin e oil and the sent won't burn off from the essential oil
Yeah I love diy organic body care! The think dirty app that tells you how toxic products are years ago shifted ALL the products I use! Our body’s an organ and drinks what we put on it (I’ve heard you say so I know you know but shockingly most don’t) anyhow I started making the flax gel for my hair and it’s FANTASTIC Incase you haven’t tried ❤️🥰❤️
After following this recipe several people comment about their "body lotion" having gone hard. This is really a nice recipe for body butter, but not for body lotion. The main ingredients are shea butter and coconut oil; both are solid at room temperature. It is normal for the final product to harden ... unless you live in the tropics ;)
You might can use fractionated coconut oil, it’s stays in liquid form. And a softer butter is mango butter ... also to cut the grease down use tapioca starch or arrowrootpowder. HOPE THIS HELPS
Great advice on the after care of your utensils. I haven't found any video who make those remarks and I was left wondering how to clean my the mess. Thank you!
Hi Luisa a big hello all the way from Jordan ! I made the body butter! WOW I loved your recipe. I did a smaller quantity 200ml to test and see how long that would last me, so thank you very much for sharing. Cedar
Wow! Nice! This was very helpful - Thank you. I've been looking into/researching (over the last 6 - 12 months, about) how to make my own lotion (to get away from all the big-name lotions that contain some form of aluminum, but I was not sure when, where, "and how" to begin, but I believe this video of yours here, has set me on a great path to start with - Thank you again (I just joined your channel fam)).
Thanks Luisa! I plan to make this, in the very near future. I've been making scented Body Butters and now can add this to my regimen and holiday, gift giving. Many blessings to you!
Hello miss beautiful. I watched your video and follow your direction . I try to make some for myself and gave to some of my friends . They really love it. I really appreciate for your shearing video. I really love, thank you so much❤❤❤

Thank you for your video, I love it, I made it, it came out very good but I find it was a bit oily when I put it on my hands I followed your instructions, but maybe be if I had put less coconut oil it would've been better, but it's my first try.
Just to let you know when you explained the recipe verbally you said 2 tablespoons of vegetable glycerin and 2 tablespoons of vitamin E but the written portion looks like it’s saying 2 teaspoons of each so you might want to clarify that on the written video

Hello Luisa! Love the video and ready to give it a try. How can I tweak the recipe so I can use a squeeze bottle instead of a jar? Trying to make more of a lotion than a butter. Can't wait to try!
What a nice explanation and video! You mentioned the essential oil takes care of preservation. If I would be making a natural version without sents, how long would it stay good for? Thanks!!
This is the 1st time seeing a lotion made without heating or adding water. I love it! I'm adding the lotion I make to pump bottles..will this stay soft lotion as it looks when the video is finished? Thanks!!
Hello Sesherat S. So happy you like the recipe! The lotion will get harder the next day. It will still be soft but not liquid. I don’t recommend you put it in am pump bottle. I have an other video where I do a liquid version of this lotion. Here’s the link ua-cam.com/video/l5VNCpXHckM/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for this video, I just finished making it for my daughter, she has a very skin with eczema, I hope this would work on her skin. I had mango butter in mine, I hope that is okay.
i haven't tried this yet, but for your daughter, i do know that Calendula is really healing for sensitive, eczema-type skin, rashes, chapped & chafing. if you can get hold of the dried flowers/leaves, & will be making another batch in the future, try steeping dried Calendula in olive oil for 4-6 weeks (cold- gently shaking from time to time, & leave in cool, dark, place) to let the healing properties imbue naturally. i've used Calendula balms & it's great stuff. by all means research further but i know how awful it is to have eczema & i would defo do this myself.
I’ve seen many recipes but when should I add a preservative and what are good options to use? I’m assuming the only reason I’d have to add a preservative is for a longer shelf life. How long can this lotion/ body butter last before it goes bad?
Hello Smiley. I am not very familiar with preservatives so I will not be able to answer. I usually make these lotions for me and my family and we go through a jar every month. By the time I get to the last jar, 3 to 6 months have passed since I first made them and it smells and feels as good as all the other jars. So I would say, if you sanitize your jar well, don't use water and try to be as hermetic as possible; you could keep the lotion/butter for a solid year. Keep in mind that I am not a biochemist 😉
Any product you use water or aloe Vera in you need a preservative. Vitamin E as stated below is not a preservative, it's an antioxidants so the product doesn't go rancid.
Hello thank you for your video I can't wait to try this recipe just one question is it okay to not use the vegetable glycerin or could I replace it with something else? Also do you think grapeseed oil will work just as well as olive oil? Thanks Just trying to work with what I have around the house 😁
Hello Tara Everest, feel free to add or replace ingredients. I think you can totally take out the glycerin but I would keep the vitamin E Oil. As far as the oils goes, I think you should play around with different oils and see witch ones you like better. My recipe is a fondation or a base, you can totally make it your own. 😉
Love this!!! So do we use vegetable oil also or is it just vegetable glycerine... you have both of these when I saw the ingredients scrolling up that on the ingredients list u have on the video... thanks !
I am definitely going to try this ..Thank U so much....I am trying to fine your anti ageing eye cream video but I can't find it...could you kindly direct me to it....Thank U
MsDangerous01 Yea, i put it in a pump and a regular lotion bottle. And it works! I was worried cuz sometimes the Shea butter I get hardens up later. But I then bi with the coconut, it helps. I also just shake it a bit before I use it.
I made this a few weeks ago and I SWEAR BY IT. my mom and niece also love it. I’ll never buy lotion again!
