When I trained for my sub 3h marathon i had a session I can remember extremely well. 5km WU, 2x7km at 4:10/km, 1km float at 4:30/km, 5km CD. I did manage to hit the targets but it was extremely hard and I could not understand how I should be able to hold this pace for almost 3h. Always remember that marathon training is hard and that you're never fully recovered for a session! I ran the marathon almost effortles in 2:52h, an avg. pace of 4:05/km in a negative split with the last 5-7km at 3:55/km. Trust in your plan, stay consistent, and trust yourself that you can do it and you will!

The apple watch has a mirroring feature if you go into the iphone settings then accessibility. You still have to set up the workout through the watch but the watch screen appears on your phone so it’s bigger/easier!

I had trouble keeping a steady pace too. Got some Engo 2 HUD glasses which shows me pace and HR data real time on the inside of my glasses as I run so I can make micro adjustments to keep a consistent pace.

    I thought you would
be familiar with fartlek, coming from soccer. I was first introduced to fartlek training when I was still playing rugby years ago.
Big question, is your coach going to prescribe days off, like a normal marathon training block ??? uh oh.
