Congrats on the job! I'm glad you're painting for fun again. It's always terrible when a hobby begins to feel like a chore. I love the new format. Your tutorials are a big help, but it's also really cool to see mistakes and redirections done in "real time."
Your videos are what I like because I'm not going for anything but fun. I always recommend your vids to people who may get interested. Keep up the great work sir and remember it gets better.
Congratulation on the new job and I am so long following your channel (with my other YT account) that I didn't noticed this was "new old style". I 'member the homepage! From waybackwhen. Oh no, now I'm starting to think about other things too. Larry Leadhead, Turnsignals on a landraider.... where has time gone?! *goes crying in the corner*
Congrats on the new job! Love the shift in style - I think you do an incredible job of the freeform! Kind of feels like sitting down for a paint-and-chat with a friend!
Admittedly your tutorials (mostly your how to layer paint) where kinda key for me way back then as they where what cause things to click for me when i first got into the hobby, but what has keep me watching and keeps me watching is less the tutorials and more the idk bob ross vibe where im watching more to just watch someone painting who enjoys painting and enjoying the journey and seeing it come together
This was a joy to watch and I picked up good ideas on using my inks with metallics which I admittedly had forgotten about. So much fun to see a non-Games Workshop painting video..
It's great to see you posting videos again, and I really like your new plan! Personally, I like seeing a variety of different subjects posted, not just the miniatures that are "hot" and trending. Like any model builder/miniature painter, I find myself painting a plethora of different subject matters--figures, vehicles, etc. Sometimes it's fantasy, sci-fi, old west, undead, mutants, animals, dinosaurs, monsters--you name it. It's your techniques that draw me to your videos, not your choice of miniatures, so I like that you're just going to be putting up more random things! I'm looking forward to seeing more videos in the near-future!
This question is sometimes much harder then you would think... I always just end up with so many browns.... like oh his boots are brown.... then his jacket is obviously brown.... and his pants... i guess.. they are brown too.... whay is EVERYTHING BROWN!?!?!?!?
This problem - not knowing what colours to use - will cause me to stop mid project for months and not paint anything at all, stuck in my mind on the current paint job
@Zaphodox yes... I have a wizard right now im doing just that with. Do I paint the robes red with purple highlights? Or blue with red? Or black with purple? Or purple with blue? Idk!!!! I wish I could "see it" before I paint it
When I'm unsure of what colors to use or if they fit together I'll find a picture of the miniature online, open it in paint and try the color scheme out. Alternatively I look for a reference picture of something similar. And if you still get a result you don't like you can always repaint it later.
Ok, quick question: when you are painting you are using a bottle as a paint handle.. been there done that.. what are you resting it on and why? Like the video by the way. Looking forward to the next one.
I love your « less » professional video!!!! It’s fun to see you paint what you like instead of what would get maybe more views. I’m not into Warhammer and it’s nice to see something else. I think you are very good and I always learn something from you. Good luck with your new job. By the way, I’ve always been curious about your wet palette. What do you use?!!!
Your videos have always been my favorite to watch. It's unpretentious, it's practical information, and you always do beautiful work.
I'm glad you're going to continue painting when you can. I learn so much watching you do your thing!
Whatever videos you like making, I like watching!
I really like this "new" style. Glad to hear that you are painting for fun again.

Fun makes the videos better! Congrats on the new job.
I like this style of videos. I enjoy 'talking hands' videos, and those were the kinds of videos that brought me into painting.
I love this kind of video. Been learning from you for over a decade!
Great as always! 👏🏼👏🏼
Magnificent !
Enjoyed it, as always.
This looks great, really enjoyed the video
Nice 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Love

I paint minis bright. They pop on the table, plus most of nature is super bright and vibrant.

This sounds exactly like me rofl!
why do you wipe your brush on the paper when you load it with paint?

"Mitchell!"
"Nobody has ever searched UA-cam on how to paint a gnome wizard".
Well actually...
