- To celebrate the completion of my Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz and Contemporary Popular Music, I wanted to put together a video that documented my drumming progress over the past number of years. This video documents how my playing has changed from 2012 to 2019 (9th grade to the end of my B.Mus degree).

This is awesome, Brandon!
Thank you!❤️
What’s so cool for me to see is Brandon started with speed and some overplaying. And developed so much in dynamic control, knowledge of time, and musical choices. And that’s how you land gigs! Awesome!
Dude how you've grown in the past few years is insane. It was a pleasure playing with you whenever I got to, keep it up man.
Thanks so much man! It was an honor playing with you over the past few years. Hopefully, we'll have some more chances to play in the future!
Massive growth! Congrats for putting in the work, man!
Thanks so much, man! Appreciate it!
One of my favorite Drummers on UA-cam certainly thanks to his love for Rush!
Thank you, Leo!
You’re so talented man keep it up

Sick blast beat at 12:30
You’re a great host at Drumeo. I just found out you had a channel. I was sure you’re a great drummer, will watch your videos. ❤
Great video! I'm very new to drumming - I got here by watching some of your Drumeo stuff. As you progressed the kit changes a lot, I love the one in the final clip with the tom on the left. Is there anything in particular that made you move to smaller kits?
Thanks Mark! I played 7-8 piece kits for quite a while (I was super into Rush, Tool, and other progressive music when I was younger) and then when I decided I wanted to study jazz I told myself I was going to commit to playing a 4 piece kit for at least four years until I graduated. Long story short, moving to a smaller kit helped me develop my creativity and melodic playing because I only had a few drums/cymbals to work with. Now I’m most comfortable on a 4 piece kit, but I still enjoy playing bigger kits as well :).
where were you playing that Anderson .Paak tune?
University a few years ago!
2:12 my jaw hit the fucking floor
Hahah!
9:46 is that a jazzy version of The Woven Web by Animals As Leaders? If so that's awesome
Yes! Full video is on my YT channel :).
What's name song on 01:56 ?
What school did you go to
PJ Tello - MacEwan University in Edmonton, Canada.
When did you start playing the drums, which year? Is one hour enough to become level semi pro at the time?
I’ve been playing for 15 years (since I was 8 years old). It depends on how effective your practice is.
Do you like Kendrick Scott by any chance? lmao
Awesome progress man you’re insanely talented
More Rush! Less Jazz😀
But I LOVE jazz :P
I really enjoyed watching this Brandon, you're an amazing drummer! I also very liked the way your setup getting smaller through the years although your sound and playing became even bigger, better and more dynamic. Quiet an achievement so far man, hope i will reach this level in a few years. Cheers :)
Turned out the right way pretty crazy 😜🤯🤯
I believe you could play Pneuma by Tool if you learned it... crazy drum track. Nice chops!
Andrew T - Maybe one day😂 Tough track. And thanks!!
Loved this! Great talent!
Thanks, Brad!
Crazyy maan - you came far !!! Good job, you did it!
Thanks!!
7 years wow...what was your practice plan like???
It was different each year. The last four years were around 3-6 hours per day on average. Before, about one hour per day.
What were you guys playing at 9:33?
The Court Jester - Tigran Hamasyan
