    I'm very new to crochet but I think this will be a great project for me. I like it because it fits my skill level, is pretty, and functional. Thank you for the video.

    As a beginner, this tutorial is really helpful. As it is my first try, am doing the very first row of chain stitch again because i made them too tight the first time giving problem to insert the second row. Well, will keep trying...

    I could definitely make these. I see a new project this week. I have made my mom some dishcloths and she loves them and they havent fallen apart haha. I am very comfortable with single crochet. I might make her and myself a couple of these:)

    How would you add some pockets to put the fork ,spoo, and knife? And the napkin? My idea is to roll it and take it to my work.

      Crochet a small square or rectangle, sew the pocket on. Hope that helps

    Is it three rows of single crochet before I change colors?

    HI,Thank you for your tutorial, I am a beginner. And these are my first place mats,Can you tell me why my work comes out slanted, Thank you

      You probably missed a stitch, or added one too many. It helps to count your stitches when starting out. I too have made many slanted items in the beginning. Keep trying

      Maybe ur like me after chain 1 I would skip the chain on the hook and I would D.C. To the second loop and it's on the first loop the one on the chain

      Consider myself almost at intermediate but this pattern has me as a newbie😊enjoying its simplicity and hopefully will continue to keep its shape...no slants as yet (fingers crossed lol)

    Do you have to block placemat?

    • @aworkofcraft
      @aworkofcraft  6 років тому

      The pattern I use is single crochet stitch, alternating colors for stripe effect. If you want to make it wider just increase your start chain, and for longer, just keep going. You will need more yarn.

      You don not need to block a placemat. You could just wash it and lay flat to dry.

      I did 17 white, 16 greens, but you can do as many as you want.
