  • We've been missing her first 9 questions… until now! Here's Nancy Christy's COMPLETE run to the million. I also want to credit Sashinator0 for her last 6 questions, as I do not have that show, and I strongly encourage all of you to check out his channel if you haven't already as there's a lot more WWTBAM content there. He hasn't posted in a long time, but it bugs me when uploaders re-post shows and don't give a shoutout to the original poster, so I wanted to take the opportunity to do that here. Besides, it'd be really nice to have her complete appearance in one video, and I'd ask him, but he hasn't been on YT in years (plus, its not like someone else wouldn't have done it anyway at some point)

    I was in 8th grade when this happened and I was in her class.. I was also one of 3 students in her after school “Creative Writing Club," and she would sit with not just Millionaire but all the quiz game shows on after school. They asked the questions on the TV and she’d answer under her breath (without even looking at the screen) nearly instantaneously.. she prepared for this for a long time, and she deserved to win. She was a phenomenal teacher, one of the best I ever had. She actually continued to teach after she won! She did take some time off to do some bucket list stuff but she was still there for all her kids. Even now as adults she maintains relationships with many of us.. Ms. Christy is a wonderful and deserving woman!

    • @mmdeanful

      And when the last question was asked I absolutely knew she had it.. that exact tidbit/fact about the Dentist is something she had told us in one of our classes just casually one day, so when I saw it pop up on the screen I knew she won. They held a private screening after school for the students before it aired on TV, so we all got to find out a few hours before the rest of the world. The entire school erupted into a thunderous roar, it was crazy, we all went hoarse from screaming

      Actually we had someone answer all 15 questions in Australia. And there have been over a 210 winners outside of the US. So if you will not count India or Japan, at least count the 2006 UK win and the 2016 AU win.

    • @codynatof5901
      @codynatof5901 4 роки тому +1

      Still . . . Ten year gap between English speaking winners between 2006 and 2016. The Australian version started running with its 15 question format in 2005. The UK version terminated in 2014 or 2015 before being revived I think. I believe the AU version was terminated in 2019. This was not before the UK version was revived in 2018. Still hard to believe it has been 4 straight years without an English speaking winner. At least our 6 year drought ended for a million dollar question. Even with no audience present at taping, I am sure everyone was happy toSend in a picture of the Sandburg scoreboard saying "I'm sad I did not take a picture, but I am more happy to have caught one final game". see only our seventh English (US, UK & AU) $500,000 winner since 2008. At least there are people who have the knowledge to win the grand prize . . . Even if it never happens again. Plus Turkey had to wait 19 years just to have its first grand prize winner crowned. So 17 years is not that bad.

      Yeah the questions were much harder. That's why they only got two millionaires the "right way". Sam Murray only had to answer 11 questions plus only risk $25k for his Million Dollar question.

      @@ChiSportsNut18 I think they really should have capped it to 250k or whatever and not gone so extreme on the esoterica, and just joked about the name being inaccurate. There is a lot of viewers who just can't think and play along at Jeopardy speed and enjoyed the slow pace and multiple choice of Millionaire, but aren't so slow as to prefer WOF or Family Feud instead. Personally I can answer a hard-ish Millionaire question at Millionaire speed and multiple choice as often as I can an easy Jeopardy question in time, and I'm annoyed how Jeopardy fans sometimes get very....smug, when Millionaire is brought up to them. It actually turns me off it a bit. It feels like a very elite attitude that not being able to respond often at Jeopardy speed means I should be watching Steve Harvey gagging over the word penis for five minutes, and it really rubs me the wrong way.
