    I got both answers right. I was 75% on Churchill and 99% on Marilyn. But would I have had the guts to play? Probably not. That's a HUUUUGE amount to lose.

    In the last days of the Chris Tarrant era, when they reduced the questions to 12, changed the amounts, rejigged the music and eventually added a timer, nobody on that version ever got past £250,000. Now they've brought it back to the classic format, and two people so far have faced the £1 million question.

      Kinda proves that the original format is perfect as it is wasn't it? This show works best when it uses the original format just look at how most the show's various international version that is still running is using the old format.
      Remember, don't fix what's not broken.

    These £1 million pound questions were pretty honest. They are more difficult to know than the £1 million pound questions in the early 2000s but they are not bullshit level of difficult like the last years of the Chris Tannant era.
    Someone who is into politics could know the first one and someone who knows the age of Queen Elizabeth (I assume most British people know this) and the year Marilyn Monroe was born (difficult but possible) could answer this.

    • @marioman1995
      @marioman1995 2 роки тому

      Anyone into political history knows that if Churchill is there it’s gonna be Churchill. Logic in this question though, he was PM twice - never foreign secretary. I said this when it first aired and if I was in the chair would have said it too. I’d be certain to the point I’d say it as final answer pretty quickly.

      Judy Garland could definitely be eliminated based on when Wizard of Oz came out (1939). She would've had to be 13 years old and was clearly older than that by then.
      Hepburn and Mornroe though, neither really had any major roles early enough to logic it out like that. Either you know it or you don't, but you could at least reasonably narrow it to those two.
