What's even better about this is that if you fill up the boxes of two games, you can deposit them into ranch, get mew and phione, take back the pokemon, start a new ranch file, and then deposit the pokemon again to get phione and mew again. And you could basically just keep doing this if you change the wii's clock to skip the ranch expansions

I had Pokémon Ranch in its heyday and I loved it, especially since I couldn't get Pokémon Box. I was trying for a Noah's Ark living dex at the time, and I had almost finished, so with all those Pokémon in my ranch, it looked great. I still have a shitload of pictures I took ingame, and some of em are pretty funny.
Oh yeah, and I still have the Mew.

It's not that the update wasn't well received, it was actually received very well. The game just sold so poorly outside of Japan that they didn't bother localizing it overseas.
Which is still an incredibly stupid reason to not release the update internationally! I mean, when I first heard that this update was Japan-exclusive, kid me was furious! I mean, it was bad enoughthe Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Wiiware games never saw the light of day legitamately outside of Japan, this just seem likes Nintendo and Game Freak kicking us while we were down! Seriously, I hate to sound bitter or entitled but, this defintely seems like another case of "Japan gets all the cool suff, while us Yanks got strattled with all the shovelware!" SIGH, it's stuff like this that make me empathize with fans of Mother 3.(And to an extent, fans of Captian Rainbow.)

While inaccessible pokemon like Phione or Mew are good end rewards, I think the developers of these games could have encouraged better behavior from the players by doling out gift pokemon more often.
Yeah back then mythical were really hard to get, only 8 are available today from gens 3-4, those being jirachi from the colosseum bonus disc, celebi from the Japanese colosseum bonus disc, manaphy from Pokémon ranger, phione from ranch or breeding, mew from ranch, and then the void glitch Pokémon being darkrai, shaymin, and arceus.
I have very fond memories of this game. My brother and I had the maximum number of Pokemon stored on it at one point, and we would just turn it on and have it idle in the background while we played our DS Pokemon games and had "Pokemon Nights". It made for a good screen saver, and the music is even nostalgic for me.
The worst part of this game is that it isn’t compatible with platinum. It’s honestly the only reason I was upset after getting it.

I actually had this game when I was little. And I didn't buy it thinking it was a Pokemon storage box game, I got it because it had the word Pokemon slapped on it and I was willing to play anything that had Pokemon in the title at the time. I can't remember if I ever got the Mew or not but I did remember having a Mew in my ranch. I had a shiny Bidoof (as well as a bunch of legendaries I migrated from my Sapphire game or got from my Diamond game) but my Wii broke before I could take them out so they're all stuck in there. Good thing it was only shiny Bidoof.

2:26 the reason they stopped allowing you to buy wii shop points a year early is because they didn't want people to accidentally get a bunch of wii shop points right before it closed and accidentally lose money because they can't spend it anymore.
Honestly it’s pretty dumb like seriously. A company like nintendo can’t set a message saying that “it will be closed X day” while letting you buying points.

Although it's more of a feature, in Pokemon Stadium 1&2 you can store pokemon on the cart and manage your boxes in your gen 1&2 games if you had the transfer pak
I spent countless hours playing this because I loved pokemon, I didn't even know it was a box. My mom only had platinum, so it wasn't until I found a copy of Diamond on a sidewalk (Quite literally a diamond in the rough) that I was able to use it that way. I loved the music, all the interesting pokemon, having a Mii that looked like No Face from spirited away on the ranch, and being able to see all of Hayleys smiling pokemon as they went about their lives in complete serenity. I was a stupid child.

You should have turned off battle animations to make the catching faster. Also, you can also legitimately get Mew if you transfer it from a Japanese copy of Emerald that participated in the event.

Part of me wants to see them tackle the interactive aspect of a Pokémon storage system again, part of me wants this “deposit one thousand Pokémon” nonsense to stay in the past. But it’s cool that you can get a Mew out of it!

yo. you can just deposit eggs into the ranch. they huddle together by the fence and shake. manaphy egg has a different look on it too. you can give hayley shiny pokemon and she will have her whole collection as shiny forever.
speaking of shiny, you're better off hunting pokemon on a different route because 999 encounters is probably going to give you a shiny bidoof.

In Germany there was an event where ypu could get a pokemon code for a mew a few years ago.
Sooooo I got myself as much legit mews as possible by going to every game stop that I was able to find in Frankfurt 😎

That's basically what you have to do now, Ive got a sd card and im planning on homebrewing my wii, It's gonna be a adventure considering this is going to be my first time doing this.
visit wii.guide for a very good tutorial on modding the Wii, it will even explain RiiConnect24 and Wiimmfi which bring back the online connectivity of the Wii after it was shut down in 2014.

On another note, honestly with how easy it is to mod a Wii (that isn't a Wii mini) I say just mod it and download a wad of the game if you really really want it for the Pokemon. Other than that as someone who had it without Diamond and Pearl at the time, it's not really worth it.

I have a general idea on how to install it. You could even go onto GBATemp forms and ask. The problem is, I have no clue where you can find it. It seems so obscure that it could be difficult to find.

I used to breed for shinies a lot - that's where a HUGE number of the Pokémon I used to fill the box came from. Fifty shinx here, two hundred eevees there, etc etc - you hit that limit in no time.
The rumble style Latios flying around is sooooo cute! Ik random, but I still wanted to mention it.
I loved this game. I find it very relaxing and loved seeing Pokemon interacting with each other.

I love my pokemon ranch because it made me feel like Ash in the anime where I have a ranch full of my pokemon friends that I collected that I can go bak to and play with! We have pokemon Amie and the Islands in Sun and Moon, but I wish there was a way to play with pokemon in the box like this used to be

I had this game on my old Wii, which unfortunantly broke when I was fairly young and we forgot to save the SD card or literally any of the files, and since I use a different account now, I don't think I can get it back anyways. I remember playing this game enough to level up some boxes, but I don't remember if I even stored much at all, and I for sure had no idea about Mew.
I grew up with Ranch despite not owning a gen 4 game until I was an adult.
Getting the mew is worth it, imo. But the lack of connectivity, both with the remaining gen 4, hell, DS games makes it a relic of the past. One of the few official products related to just Diamond and Pearl.
It also blows how you're only able to withdraw Pokemon from the exact save file you deposited them with. My first ever shiny, a Sandslash, is forever stuck on Ranch. Rest in peace Chance.

Also I have over 1000 Pokemon stored and like 10% are duped Arceus and like 65-70% of the ranch population is duped in general and I lost the original cartridges that went along with all of the Pokemon so I guess it's time for round two just to get a mew lmao
I thought I was the only person that remembered this game. I used to play this game a lot on my original Wii.
I bought it for $20 (which was a lot for a kid) so that I could store them, restart my game and put then back onto the game so that I could replay Diamond without loosing my Pokémon. ... It wasn't until I bought it that I discovered you can only put your Pokemon back on the game you were already playing and that restarting it would trap your Pokémon on Pokémon Ranch forever.
Tbh I've always wanted a harvest moon Pokemon hybrid game, I was hoping that this would be similar but oh well.
I know back in the d/p/pt days on a pokemon forum some people would go on about how they breed and hatch a insane amount of pokemon just to get the perfect shiny with good stats. I never tried it because I barely had the attention span for chaining or soft resetting. Ok so I may have used a gameshark but only for single player. I was not one of those people.
I've had My Pokémon Ranch on my Wii then Transferred to my Wii U!;D I am sure the answer is "no.", but, is there any way to get WiiWare games like My Pokémon Ranch or Pokémon Rumble again? ;0 Only reason why it's a concern is because you can only get one Mew. Right before the Wii Ware Shutdown I actually deleted the Software off my Wii U and ReDownloaded it. I would like another opportunity to do that. And I also never got the original Pokémon Rumble so I'm kind of left out on that one. I'm sure I would be able to get these games with a Modded Wii but it's so wack. I just want Legit Copies. Also, maybe people will sell Wiis on E. Bay with Wii Ware games. I just want to know without Modding is there anyway to ReDownload these games.

Good thing I was able to get My Pokemon Ranch before I couldn't add funds into the Wii Shop Channel. But now I got to start catching more Pokemon in those games. Although I did use an Action Replay to get the money as well as 999x of every Pokeball, but if it's to complete the Pokedex, it's worth the trouble.

I recently did this, but instead of catching pokémon I bred them while using the Masuda method. Ended up with a Phione, Mew, a shiny Pachirisu and a shiny Chatot.

I loved this game so much! I use the Mii of Hayley as a Mii Gunner in Smash.
On a side note if you haven't got a Wii system with My Pokemon Ranch, there's always the option to find a WAD file (Wii App Data not Where's All the Data for classic DOOM) and by means of homebrew you can add the game to the Wii without the shop channel. Problem is that these WAD files are considered ROMs which Nintendo has been especially stingy about lately so be aware of that.

But you can do some really insane setups in Red/Blue VC to get a transferable Mew. Same thing with Celebi in Gold/Silver VC, heck you can even make it shiny if you want to. Phione is the only Pokemon that’s worth it from this game, it’s just a shame you can’t get Manaphy by breeding it.

It came out in the year I was born
i did it back in the day, i had an action replay and got all the first gen pokemon shiny and deposit them on the ranch, it was way more time consuming than your 999 pokemon method despite the fact i only did it for 151 because changing the codes for every pokemon was awfull, and i had to catch mltiples to evolve them i set the lv to 50 always so i didnt spent much time in evolving them but still, i got the 999 pokes no problem due to my having all gen 4 games and filling up the full pokedex legit in diamond, its a shame that they didnt implemented an upodate for platinum and hgss in this and in battle revolution, they added more forms and cool new things in those games in regard to diamond and pearl
i hate to point this out but the footage used of pokemon diamond is using the desmume emulator (the random black pixels are DRM made by the devs of the emulator bcuz they hate pokemon a real capture card wouldnt have that artifacting or any other DS emulator)
