    Thank you for your teachings on pelvic movement. I now try to keep my pelvis in a neutral position, while relaxing the muscles around it. It takes a lot of practice to do this, but it has helped my SI joint pain and makes walking less painful.

      I've had two lumbar fusions, L2-L5 and have had mid range bilateral rib pain in the back since my last surgery a year ago. Is there another movement that might help this area. It's most painful when I'm standing cooking, washing dishes, etc. Thank you!

    I love all 3 sciatic movement’s. My spine position has not changed it is flat on the floor at the start and the end. I feel that the tightness has eased only after two sessions. I found the ribcage movement not so precise and the foot and breath. I could feel the effect from them almost immediately. Non the less l was able to garden for 6 hours without ill effect.

    I found the balance of weight distribution of my pelvis was more even between both sides after the excercise was done. I also found that, after doing these exercises, my whole way of walking seemed lighter and easier. Thank you!

    Taro, i do the 4 exercises series for sciatica, i find relief on my lower back, hips, pelvic weight are better distributed. I do these exercises daily. I would appreciate if you would advise me any Feldenkrais exercise that will help me to sit down to eat meals, a ride in the car for attending medical appointments, sitting in the bathtub without creating acute pain on left butt downwards to left leg, shin, calf, numbness, tingling sensation on left foot due to piriformis syndrome.

    Thank you so much unfortunately the chiropractor I am going to trying to tell me it was not sciatica. It is something else that is wrong. I know my body by being in tone with my body for many years. I kept saying to myself that I need adjustment in my pelvic area because it's affecting my bowels as well. I am so concerned about that. When the chiropractor adjusted me she only in my back region. She never go beyond my upper back. I telling her my right side of the ribs cage feels like a needles are sticking me and a burning sensation at the same time. I will definitely try that micro movement I love that. Thank you for your service doctor.☺️💪 Any suggestions I definitely open to them. Please 🙏

    Hi Taro. I cannot tell from the video. Are you using your feet to lift your ribs and pelvis like you did in the other video, or do they remain flat on the floor the whole time? Thank you

    • @TaroIwamoto
      @TaroIwamoto  3 роки тому +4

      Thats a good question. You can certainly press the same side of foot to assist lifting the ribs. you can also press the opposite ribs to lift the ribs. for this video, i put an emphasis and intention around ribs thus i didnt talk about feet.

    • @wisdomgemsfrommsquiettime1638
      @wisdomgemsfrommsquiettime1638 3 роки тому +1

      @@TaroIwamoto Thank you for your reply. I will concentrate more on pressing the opposite rib. For me, it just seemed that my foot was pressing down, though I was only concentrating on moving my ribs. I tried it again this morning and consciously tried not to involve my feet, but they seemed to want to be involved. I'll keep practicing.

    • @TaroIwamoto

      @@wisdomgemsfrommsquiettime1638 nothing wrong with pressing foot. there are just many ways of initiating movement. sometimes the harder you try to stop something, the harder it gets to stop. i would think about exploring different ways of moving without much effort.

    • @TaroIwamoto
      @TaroIwamoto  3 роки тому +1

      let them follow your ribcage. if your shoulders are integrated, they will follow your ribs jus as your spine and pelvis can integrate with ribs. It is always our habitual patterns that interfer with clear movement path. Habits can be good or bad.

    i have been suffering from recurring sciatic pain for a few years, but I couldn't get the ribcage movement here, i mean the ribcage moved but yes, my muscles kind of tense to make it move, but you said there should be no contraction of muscles? or am i getting it all wrong?
    could you post how to recognize and fix the pain coming from left elbow and radiating to left breast area, i have had it for a year now and started after i injured myself doing a funny push up variation, it never goes although sometimes it seems to have a nap. It is on the same side as i have sciatica, and i suspect it is all connected, but how to fix it... (i know there is no quick fix, but i also don't know which areas to fix target, to start feeling the improvement, as the breast area is really tender and starts to worry me)
    I would so appreciate the help...

    Hi. Your videos are really helping me. I've got results that most exercises didn't give me. So I request you to make a video on retraining or strengthening lower traps.
    Also pec muscles or chest muscles training to overcome sagging breast appearance due to hunch back posture. I'm young and I've done postural correction but I've gone back to my old appearance as the exercises results were not lasting. Men send dirty anonymous dms due to this appearance. Kindly help me.
    Thank you 🙂

    • @TaroIwamoto
      @TaroIwamoto  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks! It'd be helpful to think about retraining movement patterns vs muscles, as our nervous system only recognizes movement in patterns and does not recognize individual muscles, so technically there is no retraining of specific muscles. I'm guessing what you're requesting is a video on how to retrain your posture so your lower traps will be engaged properly, which will change the appearance of your chest, correct?

      i understand movements in this video are subtle and difficult to see, but to be honest, it is not that important whether you can see my movements or not. I suggest you focus on my verbal guidance and paying attention to your own body rather than focusing on figuring out how I'm moving, which is not important.
