Thank you for the video. Do know if a ssd with heatsink a total of 11mm will fit in this enclosure? I have one from Nextorage, that has the heatsink preinstalled.
I just got myself a Samsung 990 Pro with the built-in heatsink, will it fit in one of these enclosures with the heatsink on? Also will the heatsink improve the temperature?
No you have to remove the heatsink to use it in this enclosure it's too thick. You have the option of leaving of the top cover of the Graugear and using the chipset only, but I don't know if the stock heatsink is as efficient as the Graugear heat pipe and cooling fan.
I won't replace my i7-4510U laptop until it dies or I can get a USB4 laptop with 8+ hours battery life for a reasonable price. Hopefully a USB4 DAS with RAID5 also.
When you've got a good laptop yes you can become pretty attached to it. However, like me you'll soon understand that holding on too long can run you into compatibility issues when new hardware is released. By the time you get a new USB4 laptop we might start to see USB5 😲
Thunderbolt is not only on Mac computers. These days you can buy a computer that has nothing to do with Apple and their proprietary crap and still get Thunderbolt 3 or better. I know people assume it is only on Macs because they don't see it anywhere else. Of course those same people think the MAC address (found on ALL modern network cards BTW) is a Mac thing that is proprietary to Apple. To me talking to those ones is like talking to a wall. The only difference is I would be less misinformed by talking to a wall since they don't speak!
Finally!!! we now have the speeds we were waiting for with these enclosures as well as a very good cooling design with heating and cooling fan
Thanks for the review
No problem 👍

Expensive but it should see the introduction of competition that will halve prices before the end of the year.
Yes I agree it's a bit pricey, but if one decides to purchase value is guaranteed. Thanks for watching

What about Samsung Magician? Does it work with this Enclosure? Thanks for the great video.
Not through the enclosure
@@tvboxstop I've received my Graugear yesterday, I tested it with a Samsung SSD 990 pro 4TB and it works perfectly fine with Magician.
