This is what the Peak District is all about. Unforgettable views, cool morning mists, blustery winds, a cosy tent. I wish my legs would let me do this. Chris
+RG5355 Thanks for watching Chris. There really is s merging special about being out in the hills when most other people have gone home or aren't about. There are a few less strenuous options in the Peaks to preserve your legs if you wanted to get the same feel. ATB Dean
+Jeffwizzard Thanks for watching Jeff, it was great to be back up there again. Hope you enjoyed your cup of tea and you have a great weekend :-) ATB Dean
Even though I live on the edge of Derbyshire I never really explored the Peak District until this year. Because of your time and effort Dean I now know most of the places you have referred to in your videos. I now go up into the Peak District almost every week. Thanks for the inspiration. By the way another amazing video. Keep em coming.
Hi Dean, really glad to see you posting a new video. There is no comparison between your channel and other channels regarding editing, music, presentation, etc.... Really missed your Peak District videos. I also would like to give a shout out to another high quality channel, Homemade Wanderlust, an acquaintance from my hometown area, who is hiking the PCT. Hope to see a new video soon, ATB....Neill
The heather is gorgeous this time of year, and your shots of the Bleaklow stones make the landscape look almost alien. I love a "bleak" landscape, there's something very soothing and minimalist about it. Very nice video, Dean.
+Laura Watkins I love this time of year up on the moors, the purple heather is stunning. It does like an alien landscape up there, it's amazing how the forces of nature can erode the rocks into those shapes. Thanks for watching Laura
awesome video. me and my dad spent an amazing night up near the b29 bomber wreckage. we parked near an industrial unit in old Glossop and walked up the doctors gate and pennine way to higher shelf stones. the next day we decended using White Clough which was quite hairy (but great fun!) and the kendal mint cake got melted :D. But for a first wild camp it was amazing and so peaceful. we left the area exactly as we found it and had breakfast in Glossop. We're planning another camp tomorrow also👍
+The Young Machinist Sounds like you had a great night and that route sounds great too. Hope you had a good camp this weekend too if you managed to get out. Thanks for watching 👍😎
+Domabventure thanks for watching Dominic, I love the Peak District. I've spent the last 15+ years wandering around it so I've managed to remember a few place names... I've probably forgotten more places than I've remembered though Haha :-) ATB Dean
Nice one Dean..shame about the cloud not clearing & catching the meteor shower but the sunset & rise make up for it.nothing better being out when its like that when the light is fantastic looking out over the views.great vid as always mate looking forward to the next ones.tfs & atb..Andy.
+Andrew Beavers It was a shame about the cloud cover but you win some you loose some. The moon had come out too so that would have spoiled the star timelapse :-) Thanks for watching and hope you have a good weekend away. ATB Dean
Great video as always Dean. Long time since I was on Bleaklow but I've walked on Kinder several times and wildcamped twice this summer without any midge trouble - then realised from your remark that it was windy each time, hence no bites! :-)
+David Duffy I got eaten alive this time last year on a camp at Wooler Knoll between Hope Cross and Win Hill... I hate the little blighters :-) thanks for watching David
Hi Dean for a minute thought Graham was with you! Stunning sunset but shame about the clouds. Really liking the remote wildness and views. Can get some solitude up there too which is a double plus so no one can see me clinging on to blades of grass trying to escape the groughs! . Was watching your older vid from maybe 3 years ago up Grinah Stones & Bleaklow Stones.. now I have to get up there again very soon. Hope it dries out a bit though! Think I could resist a steak but not many could resist an ice cream.. ATB Stephen.
+Stephen Turnock Thanks for watching Stephen. I love it up at Bleaklow Stones, I should probably go and remake that old video and do it in HD but with the addition of the drone :-) I've been able to resist both steak and ice cream, we only grabbed a can of Pepsi from the van this time. Hope you're keeping well, ATB Dean
another great video dean i was up walking from grindleford to monsal head last week i slid down a scree slope from the top to the bottom luckily only cuts and bruises
Bleaklow stones / grinah stones is my favourite place to camp in the peaks . And i also like it for the same reasons you do . Dean i've converted my walking pole into a camera stand so that i dont need to carry a bulky tripod . So my pole do'es both jobs lol.just stick it in the ground put camera on top ta dah camera stand lol. its also nice to see you back out again in the peaks . Normally your globe trekking atb kev
+kinder kev it's stunning up there isn't it, I love getting away from crowds... I'm selfish, like the hills to myself haha. My Canon 7D DSLR would probably snap my carbon poles, it weighs a ton :-). I'm out out in the Peaks at the moment so will have more videos soon, doing a 3 day trek along the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. ATB and thanks for watching Kev.
Excellent video again, your getting better with each production, i dont know where you get your energy from..lol...thanks for sharing your adventure, already looking forward to the next one
+chessfun Thanks for watching, I love making the videos and challenging myself to make them better. Could do with a new camera but haven't got the money for it just yet :-) I have another 3 to edit when I get time so there should be more online soon. ATB Dean
Awesome video Dean mate, I really enjoyed it 😎 some really great footage and pretty decent weather too apart from the wind lol the night time lapse of the camp and the sky were amazing and so were the sunset and sunrise, top notch indeed 😎👊🏻 I still need to get myself up bleaklow at some point, it's on my ever growing list of places 😀 Thanks for sharing, Atb Mark
+Mark Taylor outdoors Thanks for watching Mark, really enjoyed this overnighter. I was glad of the wind to keep the midges away but it was a bit to strong for the videos. I do need a heavier tripod though as the wind blew it around a bit during the sunset time lapse so it's not perfectly stable :-) You should definitely head for Bleaklow Stones, I love the solitude up there. ATB mate, Dean
+Darren Bush thanks for watching Darren, we got really lucky with the weather on this one. Currently out doing a 3 day trek in the Peaks and it's rained every day so far :-) ATB
Brilliant again dean as always I was on nights that night of the shower saw loads but did little work, The light was fantastic on this video and the sun sett and rise are always a plus. Keep up the good work
+Andrew Seadon Thanks Andrew, we were really lucky with the weather for the sunrise / sunset. That mist during the sunrise made the place look amazing. Thanks for watching mate, ATB Dean
Another very enjoyable video Dean with a great sunset slow-mow. I have the same tent as yourself ("Sil Hexpeak V4A") I don't know what it is i just can't seem to get used to it. It looks different every time i put it up. But its lightweight and it works.
+Paul Barnett I'm getting better at it I think, I can pitch it up reasonably on flat ground but struggle it it's uneven :-) Thanks for watching Paul, ATB Dean
+Keith A Davies That's my favourite part about being up on Bleaklow Stones, it feels remote and you can usually get the place to yourself :-) Thanks for watching Keith.
+Paul Sheard Thanks Paul, really enjoyed this trip and we were pretty lucky with the sunrise / sunset even if the cloud got in the way of the meteor show. Thanks for watching
Great video as always Dean. We had a wander up at suprise view the other week, that was nice. Took Emily up Mam tor last week and had a great time. Atb Andy
+Undercover Outdoors Thanks for watching Andy. Glad you had a great time with your daughter, need to drag mine out again soon before the holidays are over :-) ATB mate, Dean
Your videos are amazing! I feel so inspired go to Peak district in Autumn. Could you recommend nice route which starts from train station please. Keep making these videos, they are truly breath taking and inspiring.
+Vita Brkt Thank you for watching. If you want a nice route that starts from a train station you could walk up Kinder Scout from Edale station. There are lots of different options from Edale so it just depends how strenuous you want the route to be.
So your tent....how do you like it? I wouldnt mind that one....but still not sure about that one or the other design with the larger interior. I do like the half design so the vestibule can be used for your stove
RDPproject I have the larger f6 one, it's huge with the supplied2 man inner but you need to put it up inner 1st which isn't ideal. If you're less than 6ft tall, the v4 Dean has is ideal.
+RDPproject I love the HexPeak, it's ideal for my needs. There are various different models with full size inner or a winter version but for me the v4a is perfect. Thanks for watching Rob, ATB Dean
+Andy I didn't realise you had to pitch inner first with the F6, the v4 has been good to me so far but haven't used in full winter conditions so only time will tell. Thanks for watching Andy
Thanks for watching. I use a little device called a 'MicroMuff' that sticks over the microphone holes in my DLSR. You can get them via Amazon if you search micromuff. All the best, Dean.
Thanks Dean. I've actually just bought one but haven't had a chance to test it yet. I didn't think it would work that well to be honest, but it's doing an awesome job in your videos. I would just like to say I've been watching a lot of walking/travel videos lately as I would like to do some myself and yours are the best I've seen. Thanks for doing them and for your help :)
Thanks a lot mate, I really enjoy doing them. Just struggling for time to get out at the moment but can't wait to get back out there with the camera. All the best, Dean.
+defiantsx24 it certainly was, we saw it again when we arrived back at the car but my camera was in the boot and I couldn't grab it fast enough sadly :-) Thanks for watching
+RDPproject It certainly was, I saw it again when we were back at the car but my camera was packed away and I couldn't grab it fast enough to capture it :-)
+Tim Nic hi Tim, there is a link in the description to my blog post which has a route map. Click on the route map and you'll be taken to a page where you can download a GPX file. Thanks for watching
Great video bro, some of those rocks up there looked like they have had more than mother natures help in shaping them and I do not think humans modern or primitive would have had the ability to do it. Just thinking outside the square with this. Hey all the best anyway.
+Ken Allen Funny you should say that Ken, there is a place that is around a mile away from where we camped that has had UFO / strange sightings over the years so you never know :-) Search Google for "Longdendale Lights". thanks for watching, ATB Dean
About 30 years ago there were strange lights in the sky to the east of the south island, the government said was reflection in the sky from squid boats fishing off the coast but pilots said they showed up on radar so I guess we will never know the truth.
+Ken Allen I've seen a few things I can't explain while out camping on the moors near here. Lights that moved unlike planes or satellites in the night sky.

Looks absolutely amazing.
Thanks for watching Jamie, it was a fantastic night out with great friends
Great video-and a good walk too. I've been up kinder scout a few times but bleaklow looks even more spectacular.
+TheHikersGuide You should definitely check out Bleaklow, not as busy as Kinder gets so you can feel the solitude :-) Thanks for watching

When you naming all the landmarks round you it shows how well you know the peak district, and it really adds to the video, nice video. Dominic
