- "It is my hope that we will finally achieve what the great founders and visionaries of the civil rights movement taught us, and that is that your race and your ethnicity really shouldn't count for anything, whether it's college admissions or jobs," says Edward Blum, a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) specializing in civil rights policy issues, with a focus on affirmative action, voting rights, and multiculturalism.
Blum spoke at Reason Weekend, the annual donor event for the nonprofit that publishes this website, about how certain states' voting districts are gerrymandered into racially homogeneous zones, and detailed four lawsuits pending before the courts pertaining to race-based legislation.

Talk about how black Americans were locked out of wealth for decades. Talk about how we were not able to join unions and social security until 20 years after it was put in place. Talk about Red Sommer and Tulsa Oklahoma.

Race was considered, quite severely so, when shaping the current existing sub-cultures making up the country, as well the relative wealth and prospects for opportunity of those subcultures. Now we are supposed to turn around and ignore race in assuming that the playing field is level, and all that matters are absolute scores in a contest in which some of the participants had their knees broken before the game began?
Sure, some native American, whose family going back generations was decimated by ethnic violence, is on an equal playing field with some compulsive Asian immigrant's achievement project offspring? That seems to be what this guy is saying, that massive, debilitating ethnic repression of the past doesn't matter at all now with respect to evaluating potential.
This guy should go fight for equal playing field for the palestinians then I wont question his morals. What a snake!
My friend mentioned that there are programs designed to assist Jewish individuals when banks refuse to lend them money for business ventures. The fact that someone would block a Black female-led private equity firm from giving grants to minority women-owned businesses goes beyond simple prejudice. The best name for him is Evil Blum

Blum is just one of a whole raft of Jews making me ashamed of Jews in the last several years. Something terrible has happened to us. If Jews are still good people, it's sure as hell hard to tell.
