It's crazy how changing just the tires changes this truck, completely. Mine never tried to wheelie with stock tires, as soon as I installed the 120×60 mm tires, all it wanted to do was wheelie. 46.2 was our max! Great video !

Yes, mine almost never lifted the front tires when it was stock. With just the wheel/tire change, it lifts they easily now! It really needs a wheelie bar as I damaged my body from it wheeling so violently.
@@BriansRCStuff I uploaded a video of the wheelie bar is used, thr 903a is almost a direct fit, just some minor trimming and it bolts right on.
Btw, you can't really change the pinion gear as you stated, but I'm in the process of loading a CAD file and print 1 on our CNC machine at work, completely adjustable, hopefully! If mine works out, I'll send you 1 my friend

@@BriansRCStuff I've been dealing with Wong @HBX through email alot, he is who sent me the 2997. They're in the midst of designing a 1/10 scale of it tho 🤫
That is awesome! I usually deal with Sy and she told me they are not going to make different motor mounts that can accept bigger pinions (or smaller spur gears) as it would be too expensive. I really don't think it would take much R&D to make it happen but appreciated the response just the same.
I love the idea of what you are working on.... that will be so good! This truck really needs the ability to run some taller gearing to help us speed freaks tinker with it. Also, I feel they are getting further behind the ball when you have trucks like the Terminator that offers adjustable gearing in a similar be it somewhat more expensive package.
Wow, that is really exciting news about the 1/10th scale version of the 2997A. That has the potential to be so good! I wonder if Wong has seem any of my videos and all the effort I have put into modding the 2997a. IDK if it he would care, but he sounds like a great contact!

I have a question my friend. Did you by chance count the teeth on the spur gear/ center diff when you replaced your's? I should have counted mine when I changed the diff fluid and locked the diffs, but I forgot. I'm trying to figure what the stock gear ratio is. Thanks for any info.
