I'm just curious to see what "an improved 3D viewer and editor" will be.. Sketchab was a game changer for me, when I started using it in 2018 I was so happy to have this way to share with clients, models, projects etc... I especially appreciated the Post Treatment Tab. I'm curious to see if they have good surprises in the box ....
@@JorgeMarquezIO that's sad it would be great if fab itself migrates their data because most of the sketchfab users joined in 2010-2015 and many of them are offline now
@@DM_Designs yeah, and there's pretty cool add-ons/plugins to use sketchfab models in several DCCs... It's pretty sad that Epic is killing it... I understand the transition for the unreal and artstation marketplaces, but sketchfab should probably remain the same....
The only thing that comes to mind is CGTrader. Has comments, reviews, no US trader verification headaches, etc. but it will not be the same as Sketchfab ofc
I wonder who owns fab, this sounds like a monopoly? Edit: PCH International a company in Ireland. The CEO is Liam Casey says in his profile Liam is on the board of the California College for the Arts and the UC Berkeley Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation. I wonder if with people like him at the helm if FAB will have issues with ESG etc.
I heard from someone that the total size is about 10tb including all texture sizes lmao so my plan might not be waterproof. You can however get them all on fab when it launches in a couple weeks and access them on demand there
They will be available on quixel.com and bridge for a while but after that will be completely moved to fab. You will still have access to what you paid for
I saw other videos, seems like you only need to hit ¨purchase¨ (now that is free) and it would be yours forever. There´s a code for it so you don´t need to do it manually. Cheers!
Bro we don't need to merge sites for models we need better translations and integrations for tools across different programs, this is just a waste that will be discontinued within 2 years. WE already have converters for every model type known to man yet we still can't make anything that looks like a geniune piece of art without heavily modifying or bricking the program you use unless it is Blender.
Epic Games being the monopoly and money hungry freak it is. Ruining SketchFab with the NECESSARY payment details before uploading models. Now minors cannot spread their creations. Epic, count your days,

I also got these emails just the other day myself from all three places. I'm curious how this merging will turn out for us in the future. :(
They should've never tried fixing something that aren't broken smh
What happens to the free assets of sketchfab will free assets still available for free on fab 😢
I dont think so as the store will be discontinued!
My guess is that it will depend on the author.. they can migrate to Fab, but they are not obligated to...

@@JorgeMarquezIO yeah exactly
i have so many things in my wishlist in unreal engine market place n i hope to god that shit not disappeared
Damn it. I just uploaded my first model on sketchfab
is there any alternatives with some community features like reviews and comments like in sketchfab withput the US tax?

does fab have a blender add-on, because I can't find it anywhere.
good thing i have a 2tb external hard drive for all those quixel assets…

Noooooooo😢
What if u purchased a assest on Quixel Bridge will they be on Fab ?

FAB asks you to join/perform a USA tax interview.
Is there a way to skip this as im not from the USA.
So why would i pay them tax
There is not... I'm also not on USA, and from where I am, there is no way yo jump the 30% retention on payments
@dv3d
So as it stands on Fab, $10 sold item =
1-$2 for FAB, maybe $1 to PayPal, and 30% of the total for USA tax.
does this mean that the monthly free assets also disappear?
I think so. With the Sketchfab store being gone there is not much you can give for free I guess...

Sketchyfab needed to go anyways. I don’t think people realize how many assets sold out there were infringing on copyright or trademark laws.
copyright? trademark laws? lol who cares dude. are you j wish by any chance?
and you think that will change on fab?
