Not going to lie. I already hate FAB. Seems like a way to nickle and dime the crap out users. One of the things I hate the most about Unity is their marketplace.
I don't mind paying for things personally. Digital sales is what helps pay my bills, so I have a respect for people who are trying to make their money (ie: the sellers on the marketplace). What bothers me about Fab right now is that they took a collection of things that worked really well individually and consolidated them down into a single buggy mess that doesn't work well at all. Frustrating your users by replacing something that works with something that doesn't is not good business.
I really dislike it also. It's almost like when Walmart or Best Buy changes the internal layout of each section and aisle for no reason, subsequently discombobulating the customers sense of direction. That's what this feels like. Plus it feels like it really screws with established system in which customers and vendors were exposed to each other to encourage a better marketplace. This new Fab, it feels way too corporate. Sure it's cool we get these scans for free and could data horde them on a hard drive for security, but I don't feel confident in this new storefront in terms of adequately exposing the works (be it plugins or assets, etc) of smaller developers or studios on this newer marketplace.

So just to confirm from what we understand. If you claimed the megascans and have them going forward. You can use them even in 2025 as long as you follow the standard license agreement. You don't have to buy them.

1:53 I pressed "claim" button and in FAB and said I claimed with green check, but in Megascan page, number of "Purchased" is only 375 instead of 18,000. Can you help me with it?
@@nintenjo64 if you see the 'Frequently Asked Questions' on the page, it said they are working on bringing those missing assets from megascans to fab. So unless you have done the github thing before the megascan update, i think you should wait till the epic game brings those assets. They said we will be able to access all those 17000 assets from original megascan in the fab just by claiming.
same here! i think unless you use script to purchase all assets to your account 2 days before..or you can not purchase any assets to megascans account...

exactly if you don't claim each individual asset in fab. it won't be added to your library. even if you own it. it will no longer be yours in 2025. not sure if you will need a hard drive to actually download each one from the library? or adding to the fab library is enough?...... it's a real pain to do as there is no way of going back to the page without scrolling miles each time as it goes back to the top of the page each time. I actually don't think there is enough time left to download everything to a drive so pick the most important items first. people have duplicated lots of assets making things worse.
can you still do this in 2025 ? I used to own all megascans when it was through the quixel website, can i transfer all those for free through fab or have i lost them forever and now i need to pay ?
@SuperAquaa unfortunately not. The bridge is blocked and you can't download or export any product. It should be a similar function in fab but there is not - yet. You have to remake the material with the maps given.
It's a bit buggy still. Try refreshing. Sometimes it shows my library as completely empty (even though I have hundreds of marketplace assets). If refreshing a few times doesn't work, try clicking "Add to my Library" on that particular item.
I claimed them just like in the video but, 1.They didn't get added to my library, I need to manually add them 2.The Quixel Megascans library only shows 232/18k+ assets. I am highly doubtful about what is going to happen with those unadded assets. The script doesn't seem to work as well, as it keeps saying access restricted. Am I the only one who's stuck up here ? Someone, please help us with this issue.
The site says this: What happens when assets become paid? Any Megascans you claim for free on Fab are yours to keep under the Fab Standard License, even after they become paid. I think they made it so you basically get access to all of those assets even after 25, but didn't want to make it so clicking one button would add 18k items to your library as that could cause issues. Probably the smarter thing to do IF it works properly and you don't need to manually add them

@@zachrojas2534 They said they are working on a way to implement one-button adding but it is not available right now. From what I understand, the megascans do not need to be in your library. You already own them permanently. Even after 2025, if you want a specific megascan, you can go to their store, find the asset and click on "Add to library" without paying.
Before I could batch download by holding the Ctrl button and selecting multiple assets with left mouse click. Doesn't allow me to batch download anymore via the Bridge app. Keeps prompting me to signup. I acquired the assets with an Indie license before the move to FAB so makes no sense to get the free Unreal license which changes the license agreement. Maybe it will allow batch if I signup via FAB but I already have enough to keep me satisfied.

Doesn't work if your EPIC account is registered to someone under 18. The TOS for FAB requires 18+ for it to allow the claim to go through. Just letting you know in case you get an error page when you attempt to do the one click claim via FAB.
if i open quixel bridge, it shows the subscribe button instead of the download button, i clicked it but i dont seem te get the download button at all, any idea?
No need to use the script now. The button does the job. For inside Unreal, you can continue using Bridge as normal and then when they integrate the Fab plugin you should be able to use everything you claimed with the button even after it goes paid.
i did all the things you did but in quixel bridge plugin everytime I try to downoad a new asset it wont let me and a message "not ueasset" (something like that) pops out. Is it because I am using UE5 5.3? do i need to update to UE5 5.4 abow? In his video demo what version did you use?

@@DigitalAlchemy3D Thats the point that makes me nervous: i am signed in into quixelbridge, also into fab. I claimed all the mega scans but even if i add for example textures to my library they wont show up in the quixelbridge browser. I actually dont see a way to add them directly into UE. Which is especially for textures a hard downgrade tbh. When edding over quixelbridge they already are prebuild as parent materials. By downloading them and importing them you have to build them by yourself which can be waaaaay more complex of course ... :(

Yeah the whole new setup is pretty buggy right now. The FAB marketplace isn't backwards compatible with Quixel Bridge. Also, we're not able to use FAB with Unreal yet because there is no plugin app for it so we actually have to use Bridge. It's best to just claim them with the button on Fab and then wait for the plugin, but in the mean time use Quixel Bridge for now.
You have to make sure to sign in. If it's still causing an issue, got to the Epic Launcher under library and check your installed plugins. If you see an update for Bridge, then update it. Then open your project again try to sign in to bridge.
Same problem here, I already claimed it on Fab, but on Quixel Megascans and Unreal it doesn't say that I have them or that I can download them. Only the "GET IT ON FAB" button appears.
I wonder are they going to add the rest of files from quixel. I downloaded all the files I wanted from the website before fab launched but notice quite a few are missing.
bridge in unreal stopped working for me, amb I the only one? I reinstalled everything, my last resort was to reinstall epic games launcher, big mistake because now I can't even complete the launcher installation...
It's a buggy mess still. I'm running into the same thing. I'm just really glad that I can still use Bridge inside of Unreal because the Fab workflow is pretty annoying right now and it doesn't work half the time anyway.
PLEASE HELP! For some reason the quixel bridge icon in UE5 under get content is not there. It doesnt even give me the option to open quixel bridge in EU5
You have to make sure to login on the bridge app. Sometimes it doesn't recognize that you are logged in after the update so you can logout and back in. Also make sure the Bridge plugin is updated.

I know it's probably very cut and dry, but I'm still nervous that claiming the entire library isn't enough hahaha. So just for my sanity, I do not need to download them right? Going into 2025 and later, as long as I have claimed the megascans library, I can always access them later, right?
I'm pretty sure we have to "add to my library" manually, cause they said we have until 2025 to have them, not to claim them. Everything on FAB is made to not take it all in a easyway, like so when we backpage it move us to the top to scroll down again, and can't open in a new window, .. So all we need is one scene with all assets, like UE5 shared Or a script to "add to my library" all items But I agree on the big dislike on FAB
been messing around all week putting me behind on the work I actually want to do... 1: click 3d assets 2: check free box in the side bar...(watch out for from free it's paid) 3: sort by rating ... you should find any Quixel asset fairly soon 4: If you find any Quixel asset click on it to add to your library and then click the Quixel badge it will take you just to the art work from that author.. 5: I collect the first 8 from the top. to stop confusion of what I already have. 6: view in your library. when clicking back twice to get back to the rest it will then show the word OWNED in green with a tick it helps to see what you got.... if you want a hard copy on a drive probably download at each collection ( if it is one of the good assets) but collecting all into the library helps the scroll. I messed up by using the filters and collected building parts etc ...now when I scroll I get green white green so will be easy to scroll past one line of white logitech mouse free spinning wheel has saved my finger so much it's one long ass page
It is not working anymore, also for allready downloaded assets, get the Get it on fab button instead of,add to project. Shame they launch when it is not working at all.
There's no GBP... only dollars wtf I also prefer the old marketplace so much more, this new one just doesn't sit right, its faster to load things but nowhere near as good and as simple.

Doesn't work if your EPIC account is registered to someone under 18. The TOS for FAB requires 18+ for it to allow the claim to go through. Just letting you know in case you get an error page when you attempt to do the one click claim via FAB.

My project in the video was 5.4, but it should work in 5.3. Check your launcher to see if it needs to update the Quixel Bridge plugin.

I ran into that issue too on first open. You have to make sure you sign in in the upper right.

You may need to enable the Quixel Bridge plugin, although this should be default.

3: sort by rating ... you should find any Quixel asset fairly soon
4: If you find any Quixel asset click on it to add to your library and then click the Quixel badge it will take you just to the art work from that author..
5: I collect the first 8 from the top. to stop confusion of what I already have.
6: view in your library.
when clicking back twice to get back to the rest it will then show the word OWNED in green with a tick it helps to see what you got.... if you want a hard copy on a drive probably download at each collection ( if it is one of the good assets) but collecting all into the library helps the scroll. I messed up by using the filters and collected building parts etc ...now when I scroll I get green white green so will be easy to scroll past one line of white

It is not working anymore, also for allready downloaded assets, get the Get it on fab button instead of,add to project.
