……yes…. Just yes…… as much as I love the original ver., I think this re-orchestration fits the theme of a cursed ancient tower like a glove. I’d love to see more temple themes done like this.
This isn't even a Cover anymore, this is a pretty advanced Remix with some changed harmonies and a lot of different musical structures when compared to the original song. Bravissimo! Really enjoying this one!
I can see this fitting very nicely for when Link beats the the Stone Tower Temple. Link opens a new path in Ikana Valley and it leads him to the home, village or city of the Garo Race.
This arrangement is dark. Like truly dark. It's full of sorrow, sadness, anger, hopelessness, despair. You can basically hear the death moaning, trying to pull you into the void. Thats exactly the reason why it's so beautiful and powerful. Yes let it consume you, let it get hold of you, throw yourself into that position and let it sink in for just a moment.... Songs over. You just went into complete darkness and got into your normal life again just fine. Use this to your advantage.
this is a really beautiful cover. I love the ambiance and the way this makes me feel. It fits the temple so nicely. Seriously, you did an amazing job, very fresh and different from other arrangements/covers.
The inclusion and subtlety of the enemy sound effects is well mixed. A hommage not just to the stock soundtrack, but the experience of the temple itself. When sound effects are incorporated in this unintrusive way, it can add so much depth and bring out even more nostalgia than just listening to the isolated sound track file. More immersion and accuracy to the original feelings during the experience of the game. Recalling some other notable sfx that were enjoyed in a composition, such as a deep and distant dungeon door slamming, Link's falling cry elongated, the grotesque like like squelch, the unnerving moaning of redeads, etc. etc. So many distinct and memorable sounds that could play so well into an ambient remix or cover such as this one. I would love to hear more of this!
Thank you. To be honest with you, this song doesn't have any old sounds from the game. A couple of my other Zelda songs do, but most of them are just purely from scratch. You are in luck, however. I'm covering ever Zelda song from every game, so stay tuned if you'd like to hear more!
Wow! Creating from scratch and maintaining such fidelity to the original instruments seems crazy and incredible to me! Is the search and/or refabrication of the instruments a large part of your process?
@@jameslrx6990 Thank you! It's a lot of work! lol I actually don't use any sound fonts or instruments form the games either. I craft the sounds until they sound right, basically. finding the right sound for each section of the song is a huge part of the process. A lot of the time, I use a completely different instrument than what would typically be used for the song. Fun fact: this song in particular is actually two different versions of the same song layered on top of each other. One of them is just reversed. But there is another completely composed version of the song mixed in there lol. Sorry for typing a book. I just never get to talk about my process!
You have a very keen ear to make such precise observations and to use it to make your way unto rediscovery of what constitutes the original. Do you put alot into studying the nuances of the songs? Or maybe more subconscious, and you find you feel it as you go? Also the ingenuity and simplicity of the methods to arrive at a piece with so much similarity, especially in the mood and spirit of the original! Wonderful I would like to give more feedback, but I think I should listen on some better speakers first, in case I missed something. Does this song have many channels? And the style of your thumbnails are dope! Do you create those too?
@@jameslrx6990 Thank you very much. With many of the songs, I think of a story concept and make sounds based off of that. Sort of taking into consideration what sort of sounds would represent an environment or idea best. I give the original songs a few good listens (even if I know the song like the back of my hand) and then sort of go from there. So sort of a hybrid of going in with a concept and also going with my gut. Each song has a story based on lore or my own head canon though. Okay. I want you to know this this has been one of my more popularly played videos in the past few weeks. I *LOVE* this song way too much omg Props to you for making such a good song that's been a running favorite of mine for a new record amount of time 🎉💜
Hey hey, thanks so much! I'm seriously honored, my friend. I'm glad you enjoy something that came from my brain so much. It's such a weird feeling knowing that other human beings actually listen to and enjoy the stuff I make. You keep me going, my friend!
I have this on a loop. I like the unsettling feeling I get from this song. Imagine this was the song for Stone Tower on the third day whenever it was night (Or maybe throughout the third day?) That would be cool.
This is so damn good. I also dig the artwork. Somewhere on UA-cam I read a great comment about it: if you look closely, it might look like somebody is handing out or taking away a heart with his hands.
Just found out about this and i loved it, your other covers are just delightful too and i think they capture very well the feeling of awe, bizarreness and discovery one experimented when playing these games for the first time as a kid, even more Majora's Mask which is an inherently surreal and bizarre experience on it's own. Any chance we can get a Woodfall cover next? Or maybe some of the more creepier songs like the Ikana Valley or the Shadow Temple
Thank you so much! You really put into words what I try to do with sounds. I would love to do a woodfall cover. I've been kicking around a few ideas for one so I'll do it! Oh and you're interested, I do have 2 shadow temple covers on this channel. One is bongo bongo's curse (it's a few years old) and there's a new one in the Repressed Memories Vol. 2 video. Thank you for listening. I appreciate you!
Very creepy, very interesting! You've earned my sub! This captures some of the original negative or suspenseful energy the original N64 synths have pretty well. Reminds me of the opening to the Song of Healing, specifically the version that we hear play when Link first gets the Deku mask and that whole cutscene. Really well done! So, did you edit the original song, or build the new instruments from scratch? Was it a bit of both? : )
Hey! Welcome to the Family! Thanks so much, friend. I appreciate you. I build all my tracks from scratch (except from my repressed memories series. Those are sometimes a mixture of both)
Not entirely sure, but was there a little sample of the Lavender Town theme throughout the song? If so, that was a nice touch! It really added to the creepiness!
Nope, I'm afraid it is your wonderful imagination creating sounds. There are no samples in this song at all, let alone Lavender Town. Though that would be pretty cool.

the game is about 23 years old soon and we still getting new versions of their music and i love it! this one is amazing!
Holy crap it's been 23 years. That feels wrong.
@@cpine9062My dads old n64 SOMEHOW still works even 23 years later
@@Linkyboygamer it's probably because he regularly blew the dust out of it and the cartridges. Maintenance is key.
Deeper and more sinister, like an uncanny burden on your shoulders. Just like Links fate.
- Absolutely better than the original.
Skull kid was never given the reason to why he was abandoned in the woods i always wondered if he knew what his path would have been the entire time
Now I have to check what other things you have melted pure GOLLLLLLLD over. This is incredible!
There's a good creativity into this
3:17-3:29 that sound reminds me Lunatic Pandora from Final Fantasy VIII
Hey thank you so much! ❤
Well Final Fantasy VIII is kind of the Majora's Mask of the series
@@hist150project5 That's a good comparison
I usually don't like when covers of Stone Tower repeat the last part before the song repeats, but it fits so well here
Sounds like Terminator 1, love it
That picture looks into my soul as this song plays

this is a really beautiful cover. I love the ambiance and the way this makes me feel. It fits the temple so nicely. Seriously, you did an amazing job, very fresh and different from other arrangements/covers.
Thank you so much. I'm glad it takes you somewhere. Straight to the bowels of the temple.
Delightfully spooky. A distorted theme for a distorted tower.
I've listened to this a hundred times now
I've accidentally locked you in the stone tower, it would seem.
This gave me chills

Awesome! Really reminds me of the Dungeon Synth genre, especially older works from artists like Mortiis.
This really gives the temple feeling of age and decay it deserves. Seriously great job on this track!
Nice.
