I live here, and ive lived here for 13 years. Dont move here. The cost of living is insane, the city is in shambles, its hard to find work, and there is an insane level of homeless and crime on the rise past year or two. There are some beautiful places in the surrounding area, and the waterfront is gorgeous. But living here is horrible. Ive also lived in chicago and detroit as i was born and raised in ann arbor. Trust me when i say vancouver is a shit hole.
@@stephenmisener1659 Honestly man, most places are like that nowadays. Ive realized you just gotta weigh the pros and cons in all cities you live in or go to. I'm from Houston, Texas where we have very little places to experience outdoor activities. I like the idea of Vancouver and Portland area due to their proximity towards nature, better temperatures, the ocean and a less crowded environment.
So, we're set to immigrate (legally, in case anyone reading this is wondering) to be with the rest of the family in the US and they're mostly in Vancouver, WA. Seeing your video would definitely lessen the culture shock as I grew up in a highly urbanized/metropolitan area with shoulder-to-shoulder high-rise buildings. The houses and buildings are relatively flat in your video, which is so...unusual for me. Definitely looking forward to seeing it for myself!
@Michael Guest I visited the area almost 20 years ago and fell in love with it but could never break away from family and work to make the move (one of my very few big regrets), so, I am unable to answer your question as I am still in CA for a bit longer. When I was up there for work, I spent 2 weeks in Portland and 1 in WA side and people were "genuinely" nice and friendly but I am guessing after 2 decades of CA transplants jacking up their COL mainly due to the RE market going thru the roof in prices, I reckon they have no "love" left for Californians. I lived 2 years in AZ and if most of the Californians moving up there were anything like the ones I have seen in AZ, I wouldn't blame them for their dislike.
Ive lived here for over 13 years. Its not nice. Visually some areas are pretty, like the waterfront. And the surround areas are beautiful but thats to be expected in WA and OR. I can promise you vancouver is a shit hole. Extremely expensive, alot of the places to live are run down and not upkept. Homeless people are everywhere, crime has been on the rise its actually pretty bad. It used to be a nice bedroom community, alot of retired people here. The money was spent well, good upkeep of the city. That is no longer the case. This city honestly is on its way to be like detroit in some ways. And i can say that fairly because i was born and raised in ann arbor we used to constantly visit chicao and detroit. This city has been going to shit for the past few years and its depressing.
@@stephenmisener1659 thanks for your reply. Definitely your experience surpasses the experience given by a video. As for me living in Easter Europe, it’s definitely very different and beautiful in the same time compared with things I am used to see in my daily life.
Amazing. Vancouver is like the place I've been dreaming of my whole life.

@Ash Please read my above comment. I already explained why I would like to live there. These types of problems are prevalent in all cities.
I love traveling with you. It's always a super nice experience and I feel like I've been somewhere new. Thank you!

Wow Vancouver has started to grow up.
4:52 - Most of the Californians watching this going "What is that tic-tac...tic-tac sound? Never heard that before!" :)
