Never heard of these musicians. What an absolute great discovery and concert.
you are the one one of the finest trumpet player in music.......PLAY THE TRUMPET!!
Christian, what an incredible memory you left that audience with! Bravo!!
Mr. Weedie Braimah has an impeccable phrasing, especially with his triplets, both on congas & the djembe.
Pulling us in. So good. Connecting new. Connecting ancient. All new-ancient light and dark. Wish we all could have been there.
Huntress = Lovely.
Woah, this sounds very roots, i'm waiting to hear how his new album will sound like
2. I own the night ; 4. Guinnevere. Thanks for uploading!
Welcome and thanks for your help
Absolutely love this line-up. (Loved every line-up since day one). It would be incredibly hard not to miss Mr. Fields and Mr. Braimah though. Great playing by everybody. Peace
Great band top to bottom
Thank you for that!
Greetings from Brazil.
Welcome from Portland
Trane lives on and on
Actually, I myself, would love to hear and see Ravi, perform with them...
Weedie is a Griot with stories from our past, and our future...Actually, the whole band is performing from a Griot plane. I am thinking in terms of Chano Pozo & Dizzy Gillespie / Miles & Mtume....Fusions, for sure.
21:28 Diaspora
58:29 Huntress
1:15:35 The Last Chieftain
Thank you
I think Mr. Emilio Modeste sounds more like a modern day, Wayne Shorter, Dave Liebman, and Joe Henderson as similar sounding. In a more sensual / intellectual concept of peformance.
What are the lyrics to, "Bark Out Thunder, Roar Out Lightning"?
Thanks for this video info. Nice one !
What is the name of that harp Christian is playing?
He claims to have invented it
Nope, he did NOT!!! It's an electric kora
@@dumisanimbele3426 that is NOT an electric kora. As you realize kora is constructed much different with gourd body and vertical bridge and pick handles and around 21 or 24 strings. That is definitely not a kora...it is a new invention. All harps are not kora!
I myself play traditional kamlen ngoni. I love Chief Adjuah's new electric invention and hope to play one in the future~
@@charlottemamaconeal5084 correct thank you. Old friend Don Cherry used to play a douson gouni (sp?) he was gifted in Mali.similar string setup with gourd, stick and removable metal rattle on end.
I wish Elena was with him.
I saw him live in Montreal on the 5th. She was with him!
*Amina Scott on bass
Corrected. Spellcheck wasn’t ready for ‘Amina’ which was in my handwritten notes I attempted to bring here. Thank you! I hope you enjoyed this very outstanding concert.
