Thats a great touch of love for the game, i never really cared about the graphics, they were very simple but on point. But now, dang, it looks gorgeous! I can't even imagine how much work you put into this.

Just wanted to let Fair know, I remember the days when Necesse was a solo team, and he inspired me to get into game dev. I'm working a 2D game in the Godot engine!

This is awesome. Just got the game recently and I'm loving it, the ONLY issue I found was the textures that were bothering me cuz idk. I can't wait for that! LOOKS ABSOLUTELY FIRE!

Will there be an option (like a checkbox) to use the old music?
No checkbox. You can still hear the old music using a music player / portable music player and playing vinyls though :)

I started playing this game in 2022, and I thank all this time that it have a great potential and may be the best game I've ever played. I've waited for update 1.0 very long time and now it's so close! (My English is bad)

I played the game a little bit last year. I loved what I played but one thing I thought needed polish was the graphics and wow, this is looking really nice. Definitely going to start a full playthrough once this update drops! :)

My goodness the amount of HOURS i sank into this game is going to be worth it even more now after seeing the new graphics and my base looking awesome! I wonder so you have plans to port the game to consoles?
We do have plans to port the game to consoles, but currently no timeline for when it would come out.

I loved rimworld first time I've played, I loved terraria first time I've played, and them I found necesse that literally merged both games in a amazing mixture, the only thing that was tickling my nerves was the graphics, and after this update this game will be simply perfect, great job, hope even more content is added to the game in time as well!
We're still doing frequent updates every 3 months or so where we add a fair amount of new content, so no worries on that front! We're happy you're liking the game :)

OMG YES! This is the one thing I didn't love about the game. The graphics were just not very good and were a bit harsh on the eyes. So glad it's getting improved upon.
Necesse has everything it needs to reach a legendary status like Terraria, and with the way you made the game it should make it easy to add new biomes and cool places (Terraria was more limited in that way because how the world size works and biome cohesion), i hope you really continue to work on the game, ive tried the game but didnt buy it yet because it still needs some polish, but you can be sure that when the graphic update drops along with some content ill get at least a 4 pack for me, my gf and some friends, im pretty sure that when the graphical update drops and gives the game a little more polished look, alot of people will buy it.

We're not fully ready to announce the date yet. But it's the next big update we're releasing, so it's not terribly far away 😉

I appreciate the graphic overhaul but I honestly prefer the old graphics, will there be anyway of switching between the new and old graphics? Although I am sure the community might come up with something in the workshop...
That's fair, it's not for everyone. We currently have no plans to make it possible to swap back to the old graphics, mainly because we'd have to make two times the assets anytime we'd implement something new. The old textures will be available for modders though (which they also are right now), so maybe someone will make a texturepack on the workshop :)
My thoughts as well. Will have to see in-game to actually know which I prefer, but I like gfx the way they are now.

Developer please. Add this new graphic to choose from. Who wants the old one puts the old one, and who puts the new one. I really like the current graphics
It's not going to be a setting in-game where you can toggle on/off the new/old graphics. But we'll likely look into making a mod for the game that uses the old textures, for people who prefers the old graphics :)
In this update are you guys gona update the light and shadows a little bit to? Just asking bcs caves and dungeons really dark, and i hope you guys good luck with the game.
We're likely going to update the light/shadows eventually, it might be in the graphics update, but no promises 😊

Likely won't be an option in-game, but we're thinking of making a texture pack mod with all the old textures, for the people that prefer that :)
May I ask how much will the new gfx affect performance? I have a feeling not much, cause I have a hunch the processor is doing the big work, but still...?
It should barely affect performance at all. All sprites are going to have the same size, we're just replacing the drawn content on them, so you should be fine 😊

I found out about this game somewhat recently and while the game itself looked interesting, the graphical style was definitely a slight turn-off for me. That said, the new assets look much better and I'm now considering checking it out in the near future. Happy to see devs that are clearly passionate about their game! Great job guys.

I talked with you on Discord about this already, and here is the gist of it: We get a ton of suggestions and it would be impossible to implement all of them exactly to what is suggested. This means we often have to take a more general birds-eye view of suggestions and boil it down to what people want. For example, if we get 100 suggestions for different weapons, it means people generally want more weapons.
Be rest assured that we don't ignore any suggestions. We read everything and it all goes into the general direction of the game and future updates ❤️
