Kevin did a video about surviving in a single house in Project Zomboid after watching AA's video about surviving in a house. This was a year or two ago now. Kevin was also in AA's video about surviving the Grand Ohio Mall in PZ. I think they have really good chemistry
So nice seeing you play Necesse and giving the game more attention. This is such a great game, which still gets updated regularly. The dev is giving his heart and blood for this game and I wish he gets his attention sometime. Would be really deserved, Necesse is such a great game.
I picked up Necesse a year and a half ago on a whim when I saw it on the Steam front page. I was amazed with what was there, and continued to be impressed with the small but consistent feature and content updates. It's a slow grower, as any solo-dev project is, but it's got a bright future ahead of it, and it makes me happy to see it finally getting some quality coverage from bigger creators.
I would love to see you do a video on Songs of Syx. It's like rimworld and dwarf fortress with simpler resources but the systems are more complex than rimworld's and allow for more varied playstyles with a larger focus on diplomacy with other factions in the late game.
*looks at own Songs of Syx games, getting stuck at like, 500 people since you quickly need like 75% of your population doing research to keep knowledge*
Im glad you took the time to play Necesse. This game needs more recognition. It's no triple A masterpiece but I enjoyed a the couple of hours I put in it

I somehow regularly click Kev's vids when I think it's Josh because KMK and LGIO have oddly picked similar pfp backgrounds. Never a disappointment though lol. Also not surprised to see Kevin here in the comments lol. Called it!
I knew when I watched this video that this is the exact type of game that has been crafted in a lab to tickle every part of my gamer brain just right, I knew that I would get hooked on it. I'm now 20 or so hours in after just a couple days of playing and I've put so much time into optimising the settlement to produce massive quantities of gourmet food, potions and wood (which seems to sell for the most). Minecolonies is my favourite Minecraft mod and Foundation is one of my favourite games, so I knew combining those with a really fun combat system with cool classes and weapons and bosses would make this one of my favourite games too
Glad you found this game, I've played through it at multiple stages of development and it's always a blast. I was excited Flair was getting content creators to make videos on it but you found it organically which is arguably even better! Awesome vid AA!
I appreciate your use of the term Underdark. I have some advice for anyone who wants to get extra-strong in this game: Set up a tree farm and make your villagers tend it. Use the logs to make farmland tiles. Grow wheat en masse; hundreds or even thousands of tiles if you can help it. You can endlessly sell wheat to the farmer NPC for cash. Use the cash to pay the wizard to enchant your equipment; there's an element of randomness, so you'll need a lot of cash for this. You can enchant your weapon, each armor piece, and each accessory. If you get +4 armor from each non-weapon equipment piece, you'll be much more tanky. And I'm pretty sure that attack speed bonuses also apply to pickaxes and axes. If all else fails, buy everyone in town a sniper rifle and bring them all to the boss fight.
necesse is hugely underrated and really good and fun, get some friends to play with even it makes it better edit: also lol i did the bosses out of order i did the wizard first and then the spider.
The developer is a solo developer, so it will take a while for him to add all the stuff he wants to. He is still updating the game though! There are also mods available, so that could help with any lack of content.
I loved playing Necesse even before the recent updates. Can't believe it's still going on sale for just $5. It's crazy good value for a satisfying survival settlement builder. I can't recommend Necesse enough. I have well over 100 hours spent messing around with the wiring and automation and exploring, and hunting for that next bit of progress. I'd call it a 9.5/10 for a work-in-progress. It's better with friends, so I bought it for a couple homies and we all had a blast trying different builds, and mastering different aspects of the game. Give it a try. Odds are in my favor that I'm not wrong when I say, you will not be disappointed.
its a good game, one dev and a few artists, really cheap, has mods, will have a graphics update too. kinda surprised some people bash it because it doesnt have same amount of content of terraria at this moment, for what i know terraria didnt have all the content from the start either.

To think that old man lived alone in a cabin in the woods and this kindly stranger comes along to build a village there only to become a fearsome warrior who goes around in terrifying spider themed armour, with three spiders bigger than his feet constantly tailing him, and has a circle of deadly icicles swarming his aura. THEN he gets even weirder armour, swaps out the spiders for three giant angry vultures, has more icicles around him (!!) AND an entourage of guards and wizards with guns. AA is a welcome but foreboding presence in the Mourning Woods :/
If you haven't heard of it from Kevin or others already, I'd suggest you look into Keplerth as well. It's basically this but leaning more into the scifi angle with Rimworld and such.
