Alec Steele Blacksmith 2020 - Розваги
Gotta love Jamie for the choice of music while "candle fitup"
Fork andles..
@@dg3723 na na fork andles
Now I want Steele vs. Stelter: Medieval edition...
@@rinflame44 just Will and Alec in suits of armour forging slingshots 😂
I laughed loud when Will blew out the candle and music abruptly stopped :)
One more thumbs up for Jamie!
I know this whole thing has been a sort of kick in the pants for your business, but I really appreciate the change of pace from these videos. Big fan of seeing different things from the channel, and I love many of the quality of life improvement things you guys have been posting.
Also, Will is a freaking beast. So glad he is part of the team.
Legend has it that he's still hand sanding the Zweihander
Speaking of which, they didn't put out the final video yet, did they?
if that were the case he'd of sanded the entirety of the blade away XD
@@superymariowest2403 not yet! Alec said in a video they're waiting until they can get back in the shop to finish it
Lol
@@RBeBaN22 Oh thank goodness. I was worried they snapped it.
I’m glad your “not Hwuah” method worked 👍🏻
That Damascus pattern is incredibly beautiful. I am in awe.
That’s quite funny😂
Yeah the pattern is awesome. Although I feel the latter didn't really come through, I don't think they were ground deep enough. Still incredible looking blade, and shows a ton of skill just to make a Damascus blade at all let alone hand hammering it.
Will, you are truly an artist. That extra groove in the guard was the perfect touch. Beautiful knife.
Said it last time, and ill say it again, his skills with hand tools and hand work are next level! Its amazing the level of finish he can achieve with simple tools.
And also, that guard design is GORGEOUS!
Yeah that is amazing
I'm always amazed at Will's knife making ability.
Maybe its a life gift 😐🙄🤗
Alec: Hey Will, what are you doing during the lock down?
Will: I'm just making exceptionally beautiful, work of art, masterpiece level knives with my bare hands. Why, what are you up to?
Alec: I paint face on hammer.
Well, he also repaired the hammer and made 2 pairs of tongs and a cross peen hammer. And I think the new paint job is better than the original so it is all good.
But honestly this is kind of what I always wanted from the channel. Each doing something a bit different and only once in a while coming together for a bigger project.
Andddddd he was dumped.
Jamie your editing is brilliant. I loved the medieval music with the candle soot trick.
Its like watching a movie. The music gets more intense as the video goes on...thats well done on editors part💯
I can’t get enough of Will’s garage knife builds, SOOO good!!
Can we get a couple vids of Will getting nerdy on files, hand sanding and guard fit up please.
please make a beautiful leather sheath for it!! i would love to see that!
Alexander Shaw wooden sheath would be more cool
I’m at a loss trying to describe how beautiful that knife is. The skill and craftsmanship is absolutely awesome! Great job Will! 👏👏👏
These videos are the *BEST* example of the blade makers’ craft that I have seen. Will has become a legendary knife maker. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love your big shop, but watching Will Make these beautiful knives in a minimal shop brings me great joy. The way you pivoted your business in this crisis is amazing.
the ladder pattern is gorgeous, i'd love to see you do a raindrop pattern next!
Will, that knife is so sweet! Low tech and as beautiful as anything from the shop that y’all have done. Trouble shooting plus!
Will's got skills!
skWills
0:53 Does he say Satanite? Maybe he's made a deal with the dark side. It's either that or many hours of hard work.
There's a tshirt from that somehow 🤔
Will - I subscribed to Alec long before you came along, but my god your attention to detail and hand tool work is amazing. When it comes to the nitty gritty you don't mess around and I appreciate that about you.
This man is a pro at sanding and filing... been trying myself recently, jeez he makes it look this way too easy. Congratz on a beautiful knife!
man anything i have ever seen will make is absolutely friggin phenominal. beautiful craftsmanship Will.
Man Will is so skilled with a file, he just makes perfect shapes and it looks so good!
Man... Will is an absolute ARTIST. Frikkin' amazing work.
This channel is truly one of the best on UA-cam if not the best, not just at blacksmithing but full stop!! The personalities of Alec and Will, the skills and knowledge they all have oh and a special shout out to Jamie, we don't see him now Alec has gone across the pond but well done!! you are all masters at what you do!!! Keep it up, this channel is amazing.......
the forced patina on the guard is gorgeous, awesome work Will!
Wow Will! I truly commend you with your use of true hand tools. That blade is truly a spectacular example of your perseverance. You really nocked it out of the park with everything from making your own damascus, sculpturing the brass guard, and shaping the handle. You should truly be proud of yourself! I would have to think that you have found your calling, great job young man!
Hey man! You’re truly an inspiration for all of us smiths out there. Personally I liked the shiny Guard better but it still looks🔥🔥!
I was surprised he went with the cold-blue antique look as well, but yeah, looks sweet.
Wow, gotta say Will makes some amazing things. I can see why Alec wanted to work with him. Absolutely stunning work, my dude.
Wills Filing and sanding are always amazing to watch. Your freehand control is incredible.
Mad respect. That amount of sandkng & shaping & filing by hand always impresses me about your videos.
Whenever I would bust out a saw or router to shape wood, you always go with some sort of sanding.
Great to see a beautiful knife created with limited tools. I am sure this speaks to many if us who dream of knife making. Awesome vid Will. 👍
Will, you have amazing patience, tenacity and supreme artful skill within your trade. I take a bow to you sir.
I’m making a brass hammer out of bullet casings, and I want to cry watching you file that brass. It is very time consuming. But I do think it will be the coolest brass hammer ever!!!
I think I’d have made a softwood pattern and sand casted it. You waste less very expensive material that way.
Simon Morris man I have never done this before. I found the brass in the hills behind my house the handle is an old axe handle I broke and I dovetailed an old oak table leg into it for the wood side. Over 20 hours of hand sanding and filing later and I know that there has to be a better way. I bet I wasted enough brass to make another entire hammer but hopefully I’ll be able to melt it back into an Ingot for later use. Definitely after I get some casting sand because your right it will save countless hours of work and a lot of brass
@@kevincassidy1057 bloody cool job mate! Did start off on the shopfloor with a great grandad as a farrier, a grandad as a stonemason, a father as a toolmaker and I’ve been an engineer pretty much all my life! Perhaps too much time spent on trying to make lots cheaply but I do know a wee bit about working metal. Get stuck in old lad!👍
Simon Morris oh man that’s awesome, I’ll be a mechanical engineer in a couple years. I’m starting a list of tools I need so I can start working smart not hard when I finish school! If you want to check out the hammer I just posted it @kevs_crx on instagram
@@kevincassidy1057 So for what it's worth dude, cartridge brass is _tough_. Way tougher than normal brass. You're doing things the hard way, and I'm not sure if it'll make a good brass hammer (ie be soft enough) in the end. Make sure to anneal it, heat treating cartridge brass is a thing (not the same sort of annealing as steel, either).
If you didn't cast it, how'd you make it into an ingot to work with?
WOW! what a Craftsman Will! I'm so impressed with some of todays young gun Craftsman & woman, and then there's the most of the people your age who dont have a desire or care about anything except where the party is. I'm proud of the quality that you put out
Brady McPhail thank you!
Craftsman......calm and confident......Kudos Will 👍
Craftsmanship at its finest. Well done Will!
Thanks Will, I appreciate you, man. Thanks to both of you guys, and to Mrs. Steele. Thank you for your service.
Despite his young age this guy has some mad skills. I’m definitely going back to watch part one. After that I may even subscribe.
I'm loving these videos, Cant wait to see the moment Alec and Will are reunited!
So glad y’all are still making videos love the work. You guys are helping keep my sanity. Hope y’all are staying safe.
The pattern on that blade is stunning. Well done Will!
This is absolutely stunning. The craftsmanship is perfectly on point. Love it.
WOW... really cool to see this process and to see it done with minimal power tools. It gives me a little bit of hope!
Beautiful job on the knife. Thumbs up to Will for the save and artistic skills.
That fit up is just amazing, and the pattern is out of this world. Will is incredibly talented and to think he’s only my age....
This really is quite something, and the process has been a pleasure to watch! Thank you!
We needed more beauty shots of that knife. I felt short changed at the end. Very awesome Will!
When perfect is almost good enough... Wow, great attention to detail, nice project, and excellent execution. Thanks for sharing this video.
Loving the Back-To-Basics of Will's latest videos. Keep it up Will!
You guys continue to knock it out of the forge. The editing was on point (particularly, editing out the long explanation), the project was made to look entirely achievable and I'm walking away inspired to try it myself.
OMG finally, you guys are killing me when there a pause in your releases. Thank you!
That knife is beautiful and as someone who is currently putting time and money into learning to make knives, this is super inspiring
It’s great to see that both of you guys are alive and well and still making such beautiful pieces of art that can cut and slice. Stay safe and healthy.😎
Beautiful work, Will. Truly a work of art. You have a God given talent, which you've taken further with your hard work and patience.
One of the nicest knifes I've ever seen! So elegant and neat
You are right, Will! even when i made my 1st knife from a nail (i know that is bad material and is too soft) after hardening its even usable!
Will! Just wanted you to know I've been wanting to get into knife making for years, and these recent videos of yours have finally got me to get off my ass and start working. Got a set of files and some knife steel and have my first attempt in progress! Thanks for the inspiration dude
I wonder what’s like when someone asks will what he does for a living... “ what do you do” “oh I hand file, and hand sand”
Will nailed it! Again! Now I'm even more anxious to start my own kniveforging and handle making!
You fellas are a true inspiration. Well done Will.
Will is a master with the file now! I know he spends hours at it but it is absolutely worth it.
Its awesome watching some of the instagram live streams to get a behind the scenes for how this was made!
I love seeing you create crazy swords, but i think i love seeing what we could produce in our own workshop with time and effort (and a load of luck). Please keep these limited tool set videos going!
Suuuuuuper nice job Will! 😍
I love the blackened guard; it goes great with the handle wood.
Time for a sheath build! Love your work Will. I love that guard design, very organic feeling.
Fine job Will! You have a keen eye for detail.
That old school candle technique was a treat 👌🏻
Sick blade, love how you are back to basic tools!
the shape of that guard is just so satisfying
Well done William, well done indeed ! I enjoyed viewing your work thank you for shearing it with us.
i love to learn to do what you all do every day man. it cool to see knives and tools you guys make it really cool.
Absolutely beautiful piece dude.. the detail on the brass and that Damascus pattern is mind blowing..
Well done Will, I admire your patience with the schnitzelwerk with the fit and finish. Also, good choice in a file handle (The yellow sphere shaped one)
Outstanding craftsmanship and design!
Beautifully crafted in every way.
Another phenomenal blade from Will. A masterpiece indeed. Well done sir!
Will is very talented, and a wizard with a hand file, good job
I really appreciate your handle & guard design. Always looks nice on your knives
Really enjoyed watching this knife been made

and handle turned out fantastic. well done
WILL. CHEERS.
Will you a beast! The dedication to the craft you have is astounding, sticking with tuff projects and seeing them through to completion. Kudos to you and the wonderful team your a part of.
What a sweet looking knife right there, Will! Very inspiring to see it made with such simple tools.
Now that is a beautiful knife! Great job Will!
Will.... that is one awesome knife! I agree with Alec, you knocked it out the park! Fine job, sir!
How do you and Alec stay so positive no matter what happens
Will is a really good knifemaker/bladesmith ! What a beautiful piece of art.
I love that style of guard!
Beautifully work young brother! Love the file work you did on the guard.
incredible work will, congratulations and thank you.
What a convenient way to have a bench vise and do your thing❤️
Will is a wizard with a file, that's one beautiful knife!
Beautiful knife Will. Beautiful Damascus, great choice for the wood handle, guard is truly a piece of art. Congratulations on a wonderful achievement. 100👍
I think forged in fire should have a "youtube special on tv" and include you guys and other tube smiths 😁
fanTAStic work, Will! I admire your dedication to craft and work ethic. In comparison, the only thing I made in my 20s was trouble.
Hi Alec & Will,
Firstly Alec I've watched your vids for many years now, started when you were a month or so into you daily vids and has been truly amazing watching your channel and business change and grow through all your hard work.
I am a craftsman of wood since about 10/11yrs old so and at 33 now its quite inspiring seeing how far you've come in this time.
My main reason for finally commenting is that all you've ever shown has all intrigued me and with the thoughts trying in the future to add some basic blacksmithing skills to my belt, but recently these basics vids have truly shown what a amazing pieces of art you 2 can create with even limited tools but with true skill and take my hat off to you both.
I've only just started videoing the hobby side of my craft for UA-cam so only a very basic channel atm and doubt il ever get the time to catch up with likes of yourselves but if you ever get a chance to check my vids out please do.
Great job, best looking knife ever made in the history of knives. It's beautiful, 10/10 A+
Absolutely blown away at the sure beauty of that knife. The Damascus pattern is stunning and the handle and guard came out great. Thank you for putting out videos like this.
I would like to see a challenge between Will and Alec to make a knife using the same materials and equipment. They could call it Will vs. Alec : Home Addition. Id like to see as to what they come up with.
Steele vs Stelter
Beautiful blade. Well done.
That guard is exquisite, i love the shape
Everything suits everything on that knife. Looks great
