A tribute to a great composer, who is sadly missed, but whose work will inspire the future. As Hogarth Hughes teaches the Iron Giant, "Souls don't die". Michael lives on.
He said "Bernard Herrmann," not Elfman. And he didn't "diss" him, either. He was merely describing the tone of the Herrmann music that Brad Bird had used in the temp score, which made Kamen understand the kind of score that Bird wanted from him. What part of of his description makes it sound like he's "dissing" anybody?
Michael Kamen was one of the best composers for film. He's still missed

A great tribute to one of the best composers of the 20th century. Michael's compositions and playing rarely failed to bring a tear to my eye.
The score and the film was brilliant
One of the greatest film composers ever!
S&M will allways be his greatest achievement
He was such a pasionate alive man, his death so young seems unnatural. RIP
RIP Michael Kamen :-(
I love the Iron Giant! If only a) there was an iron giant II and b) he was still alive to compose it!
I would be SO thankful if someone could upload "the Iron Giant" score on youtube.
he did an amazing job when he worked with metallica, and did amazing in band of brothers
Mr Hollands Opus is still my favorite of his!
yeah, in 2003, from MS and emphezyma..
Hey now, no need to diss Elfman. I like him too.
