  • Eating can be very anxiety provoking and hard to do so today I wanted to sit down to a meal together so that we can work through any of these anxieties.
It also will help you see how I make a meal, how I choose what to eat, and what my thought process is while I'm eating as someone who is recovered.
So watch this video as you prepare some food to sit down and eat with me!

I know this is an older video- but I do want to say thank you for making it. I've never been diagnosed with, not suspected for disordered eating. But I've been struggling to eat food, especially at work. My mom's insecurities and dieting have made it really difficult- but I'm working to combat that. Thank you, I really needed this today.

Hi Clhoe !! This video has been sensational because I am in recovery and I am tired of watching videos of people who say "I eat a lot" and then show plates of food that are scarce even for a 5 year old. And I am not referring to recovery only, when it is normal to eat much more, but later. This is very hard because it only serves to confirm to the diseased part of my brain that my appetite has never been normal. I explain myself. Since I was a child I have eaten very well, but I have never been "chubby" (except when I was 13 years old when I became a woman who, according to the doctor, was about 3 kilos more, but girl, my maximum BMI has been 23, 8 and I lost weight naturally growing up, it was only a year). I started with anorexia at about 15 and I was losing weight little by little and often eating more than the people around me. In contrast, many of those people were chubby! I did not understand. I know that now it is normal to have a lot of appetite for my restriction of so many years, but for years I tried to recover with doctors and nutritionists who put 1500 calorie plans to maintain me and even gain weight! When I was admitted to a hospital, I gained weight with these amounts (although when I left there I ate more and started to lose weight just by resuming my normal life). I would eat about 2,200. Then I was reducing more and more as the anorexia became strong again. And she became strong because she had the arguments of those doctors and nutritionists, because she saw that I ate more than the others and I was hungry and then I thought: if I eat everything my body wants, I will be obese! I have now read a lot and I know that doctors have no idea, and that anything less than 2500 calories is restriction (Minnesota experiment) and leads to damaged metabolisms, but then I watch videos of people and their food and I go crazy ! So thank you very much, from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you so much for commenting and sharing your story. You are correct, many doctors are not aware of the Minnesota starvation experiment (which I should do a video on😉) and do not know the effects that restrictive eating poses to both mind and body. I'm glad you are eating more and taking care of your body!

Hi @flowwithchlo , i have a lot of anxiety around food because I developed really bad histamine and oxalate reactions from raw vegan cleansing damage to my gi tract. I want to enjoy so many foods but I get itchy skin, hives and stomach aches from a lot of foods. It makes it so hard to eat enough everyday ... any ideas?
