I would honorable mention Hulk 340. I know a Hulk vs Wolverine story is going to have value regardless, but I'm sure a big part of this issue's price is the famous cover.
Silver Surfer 4 feels like a candidate for the list. Incredible Buscema cover with nothing key-worthy inside. A 9.8 in this one tho... mythical creature status.
Batman 244 cause its the final batman and ras al ghoul battle during the neal adams run. It the best batman story ever. and the best art. These are the knids of books I collect. Batman 251 is a good story too.
Crimesuspense stories 22 ? 😗 There is not one horror comic on this list and horror comics are known for not being key issues other than for their covers.
I was looking at some of the crime covers but it gets so muddy because they're sought after because of their age. So it gets tough to tell if they're purchased for rarity or for cover art, so I stuck with comics purchased only for art alone
Batman 251 might not be a cgc key but it is a key. Its the return of the Joker , and considered to be the issue that changed him from a comedy act to a killer
I think I can agree with that. To some degree some books on this list aren't true keys but have something major going for em. I actually used to own a cgc copy of 251. Why I sold it I honestly don't even reme
Although it's a variant, how can you not give a honorable mention to one of Adam Hughes most iconic covers in Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes # 23!
i have the superman book waiting to go to CGC now its probably a 8,5 or maybe a 9.0 its a nice book along with my ASM 156 30 cent price variant in a 9.4 or 9.6 absolute beautiful book
Great video. In March I went out of town and picked up two Spidey 55's and about seven of the Alex Ross Marvel Timeless covers. Two days ago I picked up the Avengers JLA for $5 at the local 2nd and Charles. The treasures are still out there.
I agree, i thought about it but since its an homage cover I thought that made it somewhat noteworthy and I was trying to stick to comics that had NOTHING going for em except the art alone
My choice for top comic cover art only is Iron Man #126. I see that baby printed on EVERYTHING; t-shirts, posters, art canvases, bed sheets, curtains, etc. Just a really nice, classic cover. Appears that others agree.👍
I have 244, facsimile of 251 signed and the wonder woman. I would argue swamp thing 9 should be on this list, possibly Amazing spiderman 601 and 607 also
I had this Black Bolt 1 in my sale box with the other 5 books that go with it for $10, thanks for letting me know I was making a mistake. Off to CGC it goes!
10 years ago I went on a rampage buying Primer #2 for as low as $60 in great condition. I knew just by the cover alone would end up giving it a comeback. I ask everyone to check it out, and please tell me what you think. Is Primer #2 something you'd have bought back 10 years ago not knowing what value it would have in the future? It was then that I realized to look back to the old comics that have cool covers. It's what gets peoples attention, and in my opinion why brings new life back to old comics.
So I just some books back from getting signed by Neal Adams at CGC and....my 7.5 Batman 251 got a grade bump increase to 8.0! My raw copy first silver age appearance of Two-Face, Batman 234 came back at an 8.0! And I got a facsimile edition of Batman 232 signed come back at 9.6!
Great video. Another highly regarded book that is iconic solely for its cover is Batgirl 23 (Middleton variant). It runs about $175 in a CGC 9.8. Great modern classic!
The Spider-man 55 is just so beautiful!
I would honorable mention Hulk 340. I know a Hulk vs Wolverine story is going to have value regardless, but I'm sure a big part of this issue's price is the famous cover.
Since it's technically a "Key Hulk vs Wolverine" issue it got excluded but MAN is that a beauty
Silver Surfer 4 feels like a candidate for the list. Incredible Buscema cover with nothing key-worthy inside. A 9.8 in this one tho... mythical creature status.
Mommy good pick my friend
Actually Batman 251 IS a key...1st Bronze Age Joker after last appearing in 1969's Silver Age Justice League of America #77.
Oh well damn! I learn something new every day!
I must be the only one that doesn't like the detective comics 880 cover
Really?!? Hey different strokes for different folks! I know what you mean though, im the only son of a gun who likes Spider-man 3 haha
Adam - naw, doesn’t do anything for me either. 👊🏼
No Alf 48 or Rifleman 10?!? (Maybe time to reshoot this video). Nice job on this one, I’ll give you an A-. Be awesome! Silver
Hahaha I wonder if I can add edits in after a vid is uploaded!
ASM 601,606 and 607 are all good contenders too. No significant key, just some iconic Campbell covers
Definitely feel like ASM 55 is just going to go up over the next several years even though Marvel prints a shit ton more these days
We’ll see it pop up on your list 10 years from now 😉
Thats only just going to get harder and harder to obtain! Lol
I know right? Haha
Hulk 340
Since it's technically a "Key Hulk vs Wolverine" issue it got excluded but MAN is that a beauty
Batman 244 cause its the final batman and ras al ghoul battle during the neal adams run. It the best batman story ever. and the best art. These are the knids of books I collect. Batman 251 is a good story too.
LOVE that cover. I ADORE that cover
unfortunately I dont like the 244 cover but love the 251 cover. Batman 227 is the best cover.
Crimesuspense stories 22 ? 😗

I have a unique one-of -a-kind cgc 9.8 splatter comix . Only 1 graded ever! If you want it let me know !
Black Bolt Really ? Power Girl Really ! *
I don't totally get the obsession with the power girl cover but hey! The figures speak for themselves :)
Batman • Superman Worlds finest. 1st edition. Solely for the art.
What about silver surfer 4?
GOOD ONE!
I am shocked King-Size Hulk 1 by Jim Steranko is not on this list.
Awesome picks! Really enjoy your videos, Keep up the great work! 👍🏼😁
Thanks so much my friend! I appreciate the kind words!!
Batman 251 might not be a cgc key but it is a key. Its the return of the Joker , and considered to be the issue that changed him from a comedy act to a killer

Every now and then I make custom T-shirts of my fsve covers!
asm 55 is much cheaper now.
Goddammit
Batgirl 23 Middleton and Bargirl 12 Artgerm
Yay i knocked it out of the park owning every single one of these.
Killer dude!!
Although it's a variant, how can you not give a honorable mention to one of Adam Hughes most iconic covers in Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes # 23!
Ironically that's featured in my part 2 video of this! coming out this week lol
i have the superman book waiting to go to CGC now its probably a 8,5 or maybe a 9.0 its a nice book along with my ASM 156 30 cent price variant in a 9.4 or 9.6 absolute beautiful book
Kudos man! those are some SERIOUS comics right there!!
Love Hughes but that WW cover is just so-so. The Catwoman 51? Rowr!
Love Hughes too. People love this cover because it's so artsy. I love his more beautiful covers
Man I found ASM 55 but it was the 2nd print while personally I like the red more obviously the goal is to get the og version
Oh for sure!
Great video. In March I went out of town and picked up two Spidey 55's and about seven of the Alex Ross Marvel Timeless covers. Two days ago I picked up the Avengers JLA for $5 at the local 2nd and Charles. The treasures are still out there.
They're still out there! (Just few and far between but they're there!)
Batman #227 (another Neal Adams cover) should be on your list, it's a very iconic depiction of the character. A CGC 9.2 sold for $1600 on Ebay lately.
I agree, i thought about it but since its an homage cover I thought that made it somewhat noteworthy and I was trying to stick to comics that had NOTHING going for em except the art alone
Great video , I cover buy (maybe too much ) especially when I buy to read at the same time , I just love the art . Note I still have batman 251 poster
Same man, I still really want this ASM 55 but I really don't want to drop crazy money for it
I think Batman 244 is an homage to a Jonah Hex cover. Can’t recall which issue.
Now I actually didn't know that! I'll have to look into it, I LOVE that cover
Since I was a kid whenever I went into a comic shop, the majority of what I walked out with was based on the look of the cover.
That's how it was for me too! I loved Kelley Jones Batman covers
My choice for top comic cover art only is Iron Man #126. I see that baby printed on EVERYTHING; t-shirts, posters, art canvases, bed sheets, curtains, etc. Just a really nice, classic cover. Appears that others agree.👍
👍
Xo
Bought The Labyrinth Masquerade strictly for the cover art. Even went as far to get the virgin version.
I had to look that one up, I was NOT disappointed
I have 244, facsimile of 251 signed and the wonder woman. I would argue swamp thing 9 should be on this list, possibly Amazing spiderman 601 and 607 also
Good argument!
Strange adventures 207 neal adams, wolverine 8 buscema, batgirl 12 artgerm. Those 3 and I'm done otherwise this will go on forever lol
I'm not truly a cover buyer but there some nice covers out there. Like a few & have a few. Great video
Thanks Craig! I appreciate the kind words
Dang! I was gonna buy that jock cover back in '15 or '16 whenever it came out for like 10 or 15 dollars but never did like a schmuck.
One of my favorites is Web of Spiderman 32. Which is the Kravens Last Hunt cover of Spidey rising from his burial ground.
Hulk Annual 1
100 peecent
*percent
I had this Black Bolt 1 in my sale box with the other 5 books that go with it for $10, thanks for letting me know I was making a mistake. Off to CGC it goes!
BOOM! there ya go man!
So Key Collector or EBay don’t really show much for Black Bolt 1, eBay has 1 9.8 at $139 are you looking at GPA?
880 and Batman 423 are some of my favorite covers !
All day! you can imagine my excitement when my 880 came back a 9.8!!!
Awesome list bud, love that Power Girl and Catwoman, I'm definitely a cover lover and have been picking up a lot of books for the art only💯🔥🔥
10 years ago I went on a rampage buying Primer #2 for as low as $60 in great condition. I knew just by the cover alone would end up giving it a comeback. I ask everyone to check it out, and please tell me what you think. Is Primer #2 something you'd have bought back 10 years ago not knowing what value it would have in the future?

Another fantastic video dude.
Thank you sir!
I feel so targeted right now. Lol! Great vid bro!
Uncanny 212....absolute gem of a cover
I use to get cover buys but now I rarely go for them.
I can understand that
Good list! My 7.5 copy of Batman 251 is at CGC right now to be signed by Neal Adams himself
You lucky bastard 🤣
So I just some books back from getting signed by Neal Adams at CGC and....my 7.5 Batman 251 got a grade bump increase to 8.0! My raw copy first silver age appearance of Two-Face, Batman 234 came back at an 8.0! And I got a facsimile edition of Batman 232 signed come back at 9.6!
@@joelatorre Well hot diggity my dude! I LOVE grade bumps. Did you get em pressed is that how?
Yup I had them pressed! Not the facsimile though
I pick up lots of cover buys.
Me too. The legends of the dark knight run had a lot of issues with dope one time covers
Todd McFarlan hands down had the best stories.
7:22 It is a classic battle and famous panel of Talia kissing batman.
Love this damn book - I want it so bad
@@MintHunterComics Yes me too
I hope Darwyn Cooke covers go up. Love his art the most.
Great video. Another highly regarded book that is iconic solely for its cover is Batgirl 23 (Middleton variant). It runs about $175 in a CGC 9.8. Great modern classic!
Can’t beat that 244!
What year did that come out
Which one?
@@MintHunterComics the one on the thumbnail
