Thanks Mike for sharing I loved every cover you presented and yes I was surprised with the Spidey cover! You picked a great one. I have that book however not graded. I should look into it. So much fun thanks again brother
That Avengers cover harkens back to the golden age as the Vision used smoke to travel to Earth. Awesome! X-Men #101 has the best big hair of the period. Crystal and Medusa had long hair, but Jean's hair is great.
Good evening Michael Great Show. Great to see Tag idea. But impossible. You went the right way, I loved your choices, and I will be interested to see the other choices, Thank You for tagging Maarten, not only is he a fellow Aussie, but he lives and breathes comics. I have to say I never have seen that Avengers 57 cover, it is amazing what comics you just never see. But you are right I was one of those kids who walked into the store with maybe enough money to buy just 2. I used to go for Tales of Suspense or Tales to Astonish, Journey into mystery. Two heroes for the price of one! John Byrne has drawn some great covers, and is a cover artist you recognize right away, same with Mr Perez, and another who doesn't get a lot of glory is Al Milgrom. Spectacular Spider-man 99 the Spot Cover. Then we Have Neal Adams, Steve Ditko, Wally Wood, one of my all time favourites, John Romita. Impossible to choose. So Well done! Cheers Al The Goldkeyfourcolorkidownunda
For me, the Hamlet parody on Amazing Spider-Man 347 drew me back to comics. Erik Larsen's interpretation of Venom was always my favorite, and that issue in particular has always been my favorite cover.
Man, this is like THE hardest community tag I think I’ve seen. Great channels you’ve chosen, love watching as much of their content as I can. I think you were spot on with the ones you chose. The Avengers 57 was probably my favorite you picked, as I’ve always seen it as a masterpiece of comic art. Well done as usual, Mike!
Good call on the Cap #109. The Spec. Spidey #101 is right up there with ASM #28. Just like your channel, Aussie comic collector has a great positive vibe that I look forward to with every video! Keep up the good work guys!!
Maarten is a great choice! He's in my top 5 comics UA-camrs. Many Aussie collectors of a certain age grew up reading the Newton Comics reprints of Silver Age Marvel books in the mid-1970s and that's an amazing story in itself, with founder Maxwell Newton being an entrepreneur and shady business character who didn't exactly have a contract to reprint some of Marvel's books but did it anyway. Something of a bush ranger of the comics world Down Under. Wally Wood definitely but for me it's his EC covers, possibly Weird Science-Fantasy #23 with the amazing colours by Marie Severin. Avengers 57 would be in my top covers too, but the tag line "Behold ... The Vision!" has a big impact on me as well, with its echo of the New Testament line "Behold the man": is the Vision the new man? greater than humans? the next iteration of humanity despite not being human but a synthezoid? god-like in his powers? so much to unpack in just a few words! Excellent video Mike, now to jump over to Maarten and see which covers he has for us.
George Perez is the master of group shots! Wally Wood yet another legend! All hail the King - Jack Kirby!!! Did someone say John Byrne! 🔥🔥🔥And John Buscema!!! Sir you just picked the Mount Rushmore of comic artists!
Avengers #57 has always been a favorite of mine just because of the cover. Other Avengers books that would come close to that one would be Avengers 1, 4, and 12.
Jim Lee’s X-men 1 extended cover is my all time favorite. The impact this cover had on me and still does, goes beyond expression. I don’t have any Wolly Wood in my collection! I think I’ll look for a Weird science book or something.
Great idea! I don't know if I could narrow my list down to only 5 covers, but the John Byrne Spider-Man and Avengers 57 would make it - if I had them 😁
Another great video. Thanks for the info on the other UA-cam channels and the cool comic covers. You've finally 'influenced' me to pull the trigger on the Spectacular Spiderman 101 I've been eyeing! Your videos are always so upbeat and positive, it's a nice contrast to all the negativity in the world. Have a great day!
The biggest thing I got out of this video is not the comics ( they were all great choices) but the mention of getting vertigo looking up at a tall building. I have never heard anyone else mention that and I have always thought I was the only one that happened to. Thanks Mike!
Awesome list! Love Spectacula the negative space cover and my favorite was the Phoenix cover 🔥🔥 John Byrne has illustrated so great covers. I do a lot of top 10 videos and even I was like oh crap it's a Byrne cover. Have a great weekend! Thanks for sharing!👍🏼👍🏼🎃🎃
Spider-Man 101 is so cool. Don’t own one yet but have been looking at graded copies to pick up for sure. Reminds me of Wesley Willis art which is so unique.
Hey, man, another great video. Was a pleasure meeting you yesterday at Rietta. Did you get anything good? After I left that indoor comic vendor, I stumbled across another guy with comics outside. I was flipping through one of his boxes, and he uttered the fateful words: “you wanna make an offer on the box?” Sigh.... needless to say, I came home with an unhealthy amount of comics.
Wow, thank you for tagging me. As I watched your video I was wondering which would be my top five. I’ll film something this weekend and post it asap. Thank you to the new subs to my channel too. You guys are awesome.
Great books!! Two x-men covers you need to get are X-men 50, first Polaris cover by Steranko and x-men 58 first Havok cover by Neal Adams. Those are some of my favorite covers. Love x-men 101 too!
I have X-men 58 on the shelf directly behind me (behind my right elbow) and it was probably #6 of my list but I just talked about it a month ago. Both are amazing covers!
Good pics. Love the JLA/ Avengers series but you didn’t show the best one #4. Byrne is great. You should check out Alpha flight 3. One of my favorites is Iron Fist 14, but avengers 187, and FF 257 are good too.
Thor 150 (Kirby, Thor, Hella) ASM 18 (Ditko, the colours are amazing), DD 19 (2nd series cover by David Mack, I was offered the original drawing for $ 4000,= but at the time didnt have the money or I would have bought it), Batman 609 (Jim Lee, Batman and Poison Ivy) and an odd one of which I have the original art: Empty Zone Conversations with the Dead 1 (Jason Alexander, his first oil painting) ahhh check it out
Wow that’s a whole big topic. But my quick answer is in general while it’s cool to have a digital asset to read or look at, I’m skeptical of most NFTs simply because most people who collect collectibles enjoy holding the physical asset. It’s the physical item that people are collecting not just it’s function, at least it is for me. There is also a privacy associated with physical holdings you don’t really get digitally. To each their own though, people can collect however they want!
How do you find out what comic books have first appearances of characters? Is there a go to book or website? Thanks I love watching your videos. I will be pulling my old comin books out to look at them all again. It has been years since I looked at them.
@@lunchmoneycomics Thank you! I told my mother when I was a kid that this comic book collection would pay for my college, LOL. She would take me to Comin Book Kingdom in Baltimore once a month and I would spend my paper route money on comics. I just found you on You Tube and I have been watching every video. You may be the nicest guy on You Tube. Keep up the good work.
i still really like armagedon 2001 #1
I love the fact that you didn’t go old-school and take classic Comics. That pic of the Peter Parker 101 was especially a surprise. Great job.
Thanks Mike for sharing I loved every cover you presented and yes I was surprised with the Spidey cover! You picked a great one. I have that book however not graded. I should look into it. So much fun thanks again brother
Thank you for starting this! I think this is a great tag video challenge that the community will embrace. Great job!
Wood, Perez, Byrne, Buscema covers all great choices
The forced perspective of the Stilt man comic is cool. You're right, it does look like you're looking up! :D
Great selections, love all those books! X-Men 101 truly is an all-time cover, got my copy early this year and I absolutely love it!
That Avengers cover harkens back to the golden age as the Vision used smoke to travel to Earth. Awesome!
X-Men #101 has the best big hair of the period. Crystal and Medusa had long hair, but Jean's hair is great.
2 of the 5 issues are #101 that's pretty neat lol. Great video man loved your choices.
Great books Mike love all the books in the back keep it going
While all these & many more awesome Marvel covers, for me, it's always going to be SS#4.
Good evening Michael

Very solid picks. Most I do not own yet except for the Spectacular spider man #101.
I totally agree with X-men 101. That'd definitely be in my top 5 as well.
Great set of covers Mike.
Thanks for being such an energetic and eager presenter. Your positive aura inspires others!

Great choices, Mike! I have to say, I have always loved the Phoenix cover. It's easy to see why it's your favorite.
Great choices. I still own DD#8, Avengers #57 and I WISH I hadn't sold my Xmen #101... 😊

As comic channels continue to appear, top 5&10 favorite covers never get old. I also hold avengers 57 in my top 5
Great video…you may have to add 5 more for a top 10. Love the Avengers 57 cover. When I got back into collecting, this is one I had to get.
There is a poster of that series... 100% owned when I was a kid. Wish I still had it
Great list, hard to argue with any of them. I absolutely have to put Hulk Annual 1 in my list though.
That’s an excellent choice as well!
Another nice video, Mike. Keep them coming.
Ohhhh snap…challenge accepted! I’ll have that video out in the next week or two!
Awesome, I can’t wait to see it Joe!
Vision cover is one of my favorites

Haha good for you, congrats I guess? I got a few good things, nothing amazing. Great meeting you too, thanks for introducing yourself!
Mine, off the top of my head are Silver Surfer #4, Detective Comics #400, Hulk Battles the Inhumans King-Size Special, Superman #233, & ASM #50.
All stellar choices. If I had an ASM 50 it absolutely would be on this list!

You’re very welcome Maarten, I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I know I almost showed 4, but figured people would just look it up anyways
Silver Surfer #4. Silver Surfer #4. Silver Surfer #4.
Thor 150 (Kirby, Thor, Hella) ASM 18 (Ditko, the colours are amazing), DD 19 (2nd series cover by David Mack, I was offered the original drawing for $ 4000,= but at the time didnt have the money or I would have bought it), Batman 609 (Jim Lee, Batman and Poison Ivy) and an odd one of which I have the original art: Empty Zone Conversations with the Dead 1 (Jason Alexander, his first oil painting) ahhh check it out
X-men of course 😊
Spiderman 101 or Captain for me. Thanks
My favorite cover of all time is Silver Surfer #4
And amazing cover and an excellent choice!
Glad when favorites are explained beyond “fair market value” with personal insights instead.
Great covers! New Sub here!
Thank you!
Mike, can you provide the information on your guy who clean and presses your great comics
Yes, it’s always in the video description but it’s Comic Spa and you can email him at comicspa13@gmail.com
Daredevil #38 👍❤
The Jean Grey Phoenix
I am surprised you didn’t choose your daredevil-captain America cover,
I have 5 killer choices Mike...you gave me a great idea for a video...hope you don't mind.
I don’t mind at all Gary, consider yourself tagged as well!
Ok, I'll do the video today.
What do you think about NFT comics that are being released by Veve? They are Marvel licensed?
Wow that’s a whole big topic. You can use the Key Collector website or just look up the books on eBay, it’s usually mentioned in the listing.

XMen 101 ftw
Avengers #58 👍❤
I wouldn’t crack the case - use it as protection for the book - 3.5 needs protection
You love Peter Parker 101 like I do. Check out Alpha Flight 3 for a similar amazing cover. I had to get slabbed copies of each!
I have Alpha Flight 3, I love it!
Please don’t shame yourself in showing off one of the best covers of all time. And NEVER apologize for anything related to X-Men 😎
Ok I didn’t feel that bad at all about showing it lol
101 is a cheesy cover from that era. 100 is much better. 112 is killer!
Oh no lol. Not the thumb nail LOL!
I struggled with the thumbnail lol
The captain america i agree, but the other 4, come on. Look up Bomba the jungle boy #1
You have any tmnt" i got the entire run prized position
Yes I have a #1, 3rd printing. Full run is pretty awesome, congrats!
Captain storm 13
our fighting forces 108
101 better than X-men 50? not in my opinion.
