I think it would depend on the edge and the look you're trying to achieve. Ironing beforehand just helps you make sure your lines are straight and makes it a little easier to control the fabric going through the foot. At least, it does for me. I can't believe there's not a reply to this... :/ I worked as a seamstress for five years in a costume shop, btw. This little foot would've come in so handy there.
Hello, I have several skirts that need altering, but I've never done it. I just bought a singer machine. I want to do the same hem but don't know what's it called, could you please assist? Can I send you a picture ? It's like if there's no hem the stitching is at the edge, the fabric is pleated satin. Thank you
What’s the point of using the rolled hem foot if we’re ironing and pinning? We can just use a normal foot then 😅😅
Isn't ironing the hem beforehand kind of redundant? That's what the foot is supposed to do, right?

No that’s not exactly the job of the foot
how do I install the rolled hem foot to my machine?
Which stitch do you use??
Thanks for sharing
How do you measure 1/8" while turning and ironing? Seems like a burn waiting to happen.
Very helpful. Tmx
Can we use this foot for zig zag stitch??
Yes.
