The red thing on the end of the cable is called a hookstrap . When you pull on the cable with your hand , that is your hand grip to pull on.
It’s called a braided steel cable, BUT HOW LONG IS IT???

Purchased a few yrs ago very dissapointed…super slow..only good for a few pulls and super slow just to extend cable it’s almost useless would love to have my money back
