I have a full icon box soon to be delivered (73 / hutch / side lockers / top lockers). Like you, I will be a one man show putting this behemoth together. I am, however, worried about getting it pushed against the wall with the non-swivel casters - and I’m not in love with the idea of paying $250 for a set of swivel casters for this one purpose. I am curious if you had considered using a floor jack and a 2/4 to slightly lift under the static casters to push the box back? This is the approach I am considering - but curious (since you have been through this) if you see issues with this idea?
I will say I got some help for the overheads and would definitely recommend it. I do believe the delivery team should help unbox and setup. White gloves service they call it. I actually use that 2x4 and floor jack technique to shim mine level but am sure it could work as you described. Definitely lift only the minimum height you need, ensure the 2x4 is flush with the back of the box to ensure it can get as close to the wall as possible. Just be sure it doesn’t slip off as you push the floor jack. Be safe!
Awesome review! I've just bought this exact lift for my home garage. Having fully assembled it recently, I've found the column of my lift does not stand straight. The column can be straight if I pump pallet jack to raise the base 3/4 inch higher. It does not seem to me that it'd cause any safety issue during normal use. It is pain in the a$$ to place a metal shim plate or something underneath every time you use it. I wonder if you run into the same issue. If so, what's your recommendation? Thanks.
Could it be your floor causing it to sit less than straight up? I know the manufacturer recommends a completely level surface, my floor has a slight slope and I make it work. If I remember correctly the unit comes with metal shims or washers to level out the vertical column during install. Maybe you could loosen a few bolts and shim it or get someone to help say with a pry bar. Definitely your call from a safety perspective. I’d recommend putting a dedicated magnetic level on it, to see plum every time. Something I plan to do. In fact I’ll probably get two and arrange it in a L shape that way I don’t need to move them around
@@unfilteredjamaican3478 Thanks for your prompt reply! Yes, I verified my floor is level. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to shim it during install as the instruction manual does not call to shim. This is a mistake on me. Look like I have to bite the bullet and loose a few bolts to shim. Thanks again.
I inherited the DCF680 at work. I thought it didn't work and I needed to replace it. First time using this and never realized how the gyroscopic feature worked to turn it on. UNTIL I ran across your video! Thank you for making this video!!
Great to hear you don’t throw it out.

I ordered my icon overheads last month and the delivery is not until the end of Oct
I remember mine having an extended delivery time also, but they came ahead of schedule.
I ordered my box at the beginning of this month (the complete box) - and am seeing end of august as a delivery date. However - the overheads seem to be september (thought it would all come together? anyway)... I wonder if this is a color thing - what color did you order?

These are not really for even 18 wheelers, these are for heavy equipment. We use them for earthmovers and loaders and such in the commercial tire industry.
What a well timed comment. I literally just watched two videos and read the comments as the videos were playing. One guy using a cutting disk on a straight grinding to ground down a O2 sensor socket, the other a guy daring others to put their foot under a Cat excavator with it raised with the rippers and buckets and held by hydraulics alone. The excavator short comments made mention of a 1980’s video of called “Shake Hands with Danger” I know your comment was just pointing out there use specific to heavy equipment industry, but man I’m glad I splurged on these just for my 4,000 lbs car. When I hand these down to my kids, they also feel comfortable with their kids crawling up from behind and getting under a vehicle without notice.
I was there last night!!! It was an amazing show from start to finish!! Definitely worth the price of admission. We were even blessed with a few rain drops to cool us off. Thanks for posting this!
Yes it was!
A very well made video, thank you taking the time and effort.
I have this jump pack and is the display light supposed to stay on? used it 3 days ago and display still on.
Mine turns off automatically with the switch in the off position
@@unfilteredjamaican3478 Mine must be malfunctioning, never goes off.
@@katee54 it should go out
Wheres the ramps
In the bottom drawer of the big box.
Anyone know what the inner width of these Icon side lockers are (or the max width of an item you can fit inside)..? Thanks.
21.5 inches wide for stationary shelves or 19 7/8 for slide out drawers. Max height depends on how you want to adjust each shelf
@@unfilteredjamaican3478- Thank you.
So I'm thinking about getting one. However it fits my garage but not the garage door. Is it too heavy with 2 to 3 ppl to tilt the top to fit inside garage then back upright once it's in and clears the door ? Any maintenence issues so far ?
So it comes disassembled. I got it done with an engine crane and my buddy helping. No mechanical issues from the occasional use
@unfilteredjamaican3478 When it's assembled do you think I'll have a hard time tilting the top to get into garage ?
I’m more surprised the bolt was ripped out
What do you use to clean the inside
I’ve used it like once crazy enough. I always scoop out the charcoal out of my grills and use a Weber cleaning spray for the grates
did you have a rubber mat on top of the cabinet? i dont think it HAS to stay, its wood afterall sitting on the cabinet top. if i dont have a punch and need to be precise i just start with the smallest bit i can find, they usually dont walk.
Maybe at one point, don’t recall. But the stainless won’t fit with a mat in the way.
@@unfilteredjamaican3478 of all the how-to's ive seen no one has had a problem putting the bolts in from underneath, as i did, cause of that mat. i assume the mat is for those who dont get the stainless top, its thin but nice enough, ill use it somewhere else.
I'm curious what size crow bar was in tire change kit
Are you making reference to the tire iron for the spare tire?
Looks like a big job
Yep, the hardest part is the prep and getting the layout right.
The shake and bake is a certified socket destroyer😅😅😅
I imagine with repeated use, probably
Nice video man, I just ordered two drawers, and I end up ordering the black trims and red icon locker. Believe it or not I made some brackets to I can bolt it to my epiq snap on toolbox. But I wasn’t sure if the “ drawer handle came with the drawers.
Awesome stuff man
How can I get another key if I lost the key and I have the number of the tool box
I’m not certain about a single lost key. But they sell a replacement set. In my case I just got a master set so all the keys are interchangeable regardless of box. Pretty easy to swap out.
Dripless has an ETS3300 out which has the function to switch between sausage and regular tube. The annoying part is getting a certain plastic out of the metal push cap. I don't sausage, BUT I like how it reminded me of the Tajima lite convoy where you insert caulk tube inside a fully enclosed barrel. Yes, you can still rotate the barrel. It comes with all the different nozzles at a pretty affordable price. Right now, I am using it as a dedicated unsausage gun.
The guy knows wrenches and stuff 😂😂😂 😂
I was just wondering if it was feasible to mount an end cab and a locker on the same end.
I’m not certain, sorry.
Another quality tool i saw in your hutch is the tub o towels they work grate for cleaning up your tool when you get finished
Agreed, just restocked
Damn bro! I am taking my cars to your shop.
Open 8am - 5pm daily, no mechanic on duty
This is more entertaining than watching mr Subaru 😂
Can you run a bypass on these stock or mod needed
Not sure, I haven’t needed to modify it
I bought mines for 250 at a yard sale
Nice.
every thing bloody new
25 yrs and beyond from now they’ll still be new. Hahaha
I have never seen anything like that but i do see were it can be handy

I was in home depot today and seen the milwaukee toolbox has a side locker available now

40 minutes for a ten minute job
Crazy huh
Dude. How did you really get your 400 pound lockers up right by yourself?😂 Did you use the wench for that too?
I don’t recall the side lockers being that heavy or maybe I did have help I don’t recall.
Thanks for video brother !
You bet!
Moving right along lol
Zoro website states the blue handle file is made in CHINA not Germany
I’ll have to look
Very nice and impressive. You need a lot more drawer storage. Have you consider shelving for the fluids, parts, misc. things so you could utilize for tool storage in the ICON? That is Premium real estate. Again, very nice.
Thanks! I made a promise to myself to keep the walls clutter free minus the things I can’t get away from. Like air hose reel etc
Excess cord is creating a coil,
What does that mean?
Tile floor?
Yes
Just got that same 1/4 ratchet with my vin socket set. There is so much play in the anvil that it causes the gears to bind. Sucks.
I didn’t pay much attention, I would need to go back and look it over. Very well could be or you just got a sloppy unit
They will swap it out or send you a rebuild kit
Do you still have the quick jack
I do
Would it be possible to a video?
The older battery(the one with red) is a 2 amp battery . The newer one is 2.5 amp battery

Thanks forr sharing your experience with this lift. I have a quickjack and like you I still use jack stands as a contingency. Safety is paramount when working under a vehicle.
I’ve always said it would look stupid if a car fell on me with jack stand sitting off to the side. Plus the added piece of is worth it.
